      Sam Vidas These scenes are great. And what’s funny is rewatching the show there are so many times when one of them would tell Fraiser something the other had told them earlier, like when Daphne told Fraiser what Niles had gotten Martin for his birthday. It makes you realize they did a good job of planting the idea that they see each and other and talk more often then what is simply shown on the show. And it’s done in a wonderfully casual way, like they were just planting the seeds.

      @Lukecash2 Před 2 lety +17

      @@matthew9326 The fat camp storyline came about because Jane Leeves became pregnant in real life. She was going to give birth in middle of the filming of the season.
      Rather than have the pregnancy in character or tried to hide it, they used the “fat” plot line to explain her weight gain. Then the fat camp to explain her weight loss.
      Personally I loved that they embraced the relationship and showed the up and downs.

    I think Daphne loved Niles for a lot longer than we think, she was in denial and thought he would never look at her cos she isn't posh but when she found out he did like her from a doped up Frasier she panicked cos she never dreamed he would and she was already engaged.

      I agree. There are many times before season 7 that point to Daphne's attraction to Niles, even if she wasn't acknowledging it herself yet. But in the episode Back Talk, where Frasier let's it slip how Niles feels to Daphne, it's very clear she had liked Niles already because her immediate reaction to that news is so different from her previous notion that it was Frasier who loved her.

    You know, it feels strange watching these episodes where Daphne has found out how Niles truly feels about her, but she keeps quiet about it (apart from telling Roz in "The Fight Before Christmas") until near the end of Season 7. Because Niles and Daphne have basically switched roles at this point. Daphne knows Niles' secret and is beginning to develop feelings for him, but Niles is completely oblivious (even though he kind of suspects something at the end of this scene and mentions it to Frasier in the next scene).
