- Someone was coming to look at the mower I have for sale.
The Drive Idler pulley goes out as soon as I started to mow with it.
Glade it went out on me and not after he bought it. - Zábava
Great video Duke
I just had the exact same failure on my Husky Z254. Has a couple hundred hours on it. Thanks for the video.
I'm glad I could help you
I've got 8.2 hours on my husky z254f z turn mower. Worked fine 5 days ago when I cut grass. Fired it up today to cut grass and it wouldn't move. Checked the 2 neutral switches in the back, everything was fine. Climbed underneath and found a loose belt and my idler pulley was completely shredded, half of the damn thing was missing. No way I hit something as it sit higher than everything else. Guess I'll be buying parts for it tomorrow. Can't let my 2 acres get out of hand or I'll need a damn bush hog.
I hear you man, It's the plastic crap pulleys they use. And cheap bearings. Good luck with getting it fixed. And thanks for watching and commenting.
That pulley really decided to give up. I think when you get the new one installed the machine will be a bit quieter and smoother. Nice that the shaft still looks fine. Hope that bearing doesn't give you too much trouble coming off.☕😎
I got lucky. It came off with no problem.
a trick: you can watch movies on flixzone. I've been using it for watching all kinds of movies lately.
@Jayden Thiago yea, have been using Flixzone} for since december myself :)
It's always better when it breaks down before the sale.
That's right!!!
Or it breaks down right before you get to your buddy's house in Michigan.
Thank you!!!!
You are very welcome, glad it helped you.
What happened to metal parts? The little things are the biggest problem. It good you have a shop and knowledge to fix it.
Your right abought that!! If the pully was metal there would be a better chance all I would have to replace is the bearing, not the whole thing.
Sounds good to me.
All these newer machines are plastic parts that should be metal . Quality is not job number one . Everything is designed to wear out .Do not worry Duke they are keeping you busy .I guess it is like job security in a way . Soon we will be making all the parts we need on a 3D printer.
Probably so, But by then I'll just leave it up to you younger men. Thanks for watching!!
If it helps anyone, I was able to unbolt the clutch locking bracket, unplug the wires ,remove and replace drive belt without removing the clutch. Z 246.
Sounds good to me.
it seems like it's always something..
Yeah, it is!!!
Lol
found my idler pulley to be snapped in half. would this cause the machine to not move at all?
if it's on the drive belt, yes
Thanks for the help. Got my pulley n belt back on. That dang spring on where to hook it up again was a pain. Now I think a wire on pto may of broke.
Glad I could help!
Fixed issue on pto. It came unplugged. Easy no problem. Drive belt on idler pulley attached. Still will not going into drive mode. Blades even work but no go on drive ???? Any ideas would help.
@@grumpygrandpaberrymaccokne4744 Make sure your drive dump valves are push in. I am bad about forgetting to push them back in.
@@dukesworld3020 Had them both pushed in. Had to watch your 2 nd video and rerun the drive belt the right way on idler pulley. Once found my mistake. All good and running fine again. Thank you so much. Your videos both were great help to me. Thank you again.
@@grumpygrandpaberrymaccokne4744 Great!!!
What a pain
It's all part of life!!!
What parts did you have to order?
Just the idler pulley, But be sure to check all drive pulleys. Good luck!
What's really funny is my ldler pulley on my 54inch huskies went out today and I removed it and here it shows up on my phone other people talking about it.Go Figure.
And yet they say they don't listen in on us. Sorry man!!
