    I followed this video exactly as you did and it worked perfectly. My lawnmower shop wanted 700.00 to change fix. I spent 25.00 and 45 minutes and it's good as new. I changed two pulleys.

    Thanks for the help. Your video helped me see the underside clearly. I had the same problem but it turns out I replaced the drive belt and fed it UNDER the brake/drive bar hidden by the chassis. It wore the belt out in less than a year. Be sure you feed that belt over the bar, toward the engine, and away from the deck.

    Glad I found this video. My Husqvarna started making the exact same sound midway through this summer, and I just kind of ignored it because it was still operating fine aside from the noise & rattle. Now that mowing season is basically over I can bring it in the garage and tear it apart to verify and fix. Thanks!

    Just wanted to say thanks. This really helped me. I thought the worst when my tractor made a horrific noise. It turns out the belt had simply slipped off one of the pulleys, but I wouldn't have recognized what the problem was with out this video. Much appreciated!

    Good video, I had the exact same problem. Thought it might be a pulley, but now I'm 100%. I see below comments on the machine just not going forward or reverse. I had that problem too. Mine was the clumps of grass under the brake which was causing the pulleys to slip. Also that little pull wire in the back was rusted at the trani and greased that help, something worked because it works now.

    Thanks for confirming my suspicion. I been having the noise for a few years. Started off a bit quiet then progressively gotten louder. It’s so loud now I can’t even compare it to anything. (I thought the trans was going back as my forward and reverse is also getting a bit jammed. I have to press the brake all the way down, then forward all the way down before I can reserve at times.) I have a new drive belt since last session and today decided it to watch a quick video on changing it. I knew it will be simple but just want to see a video to confirm in case of any “gotchas”.
    In the video is where I saw these three pulleys. I’m no mechanic so I never thought about other pulleys besides the deck. I quickly ordered three new pulleys from Amazon for my YHA22V46.
    I google many times before what the issue could be and came up with zero results (not knowing about the pulleys).
    So, again, thank you for confirming it was the drive tensioner pulley, or middle one. Whatever it would be called. I will still replace all FOUR since they are ordered all ready. Under $40 shipped for all three. PLUS found a forth one. I guess I should had looked underneath with my eyes, and not just feel around. The forth one, small one closest to rear, was actually the one needing replacement. (YTA22v46)

    I changed my pulleys just as you show, but have questions for you or your readers. The first pulley that has the metal V belt guard rubs the back side of the belt and creates heat. Is this normal or what can I do? Also the clutch petal arm still vibrates a little more than I think is normal. Your thoughts or suggestions on this. Thanks

    Do the rest of those plastic pulleys just unscrew like that? i.e. you don't have to mess with the bolt on the top side of the plastic pulley? I need to replace all three of mine do to a brief fire that caused them to melt a little. It was from the leaves and front exhaust.

Anyone else have this problem and know how to get the nut off the pulley bolt? Thanks!

    Everyone must have this pulley bad as they are on back order forever! I've already been waiting ove a month. THanks for the heads up on this I was having trouble tracking down the source of the noise. How many hours are most of you on when this happens? I'm at 80 hrs and have had the transmission out twice and replaced seals replaced one of the variators and this pulley has made noise since about 50 hours I just couldn't locate it. SMH. YTA22v46. I'm going to go through the deck this winter detail it and check valve lash and will probably sell it on next Spring haven't been at all happy with it other than the engine.

    • @5MinuteFixit
      @5MinuteFixit  Před 10 měsíci +1

      I believe I was at roughly 125hrs or so when this pulley began making noticeable noise. Was your transmission slipping? If so watch this video, it may be what is causing it to slip:

    Mine made noise after changing the belt. I think Husqvarna belts vary a little in length. I need to order another one and see if it stops. Mines a manual 42" cut. The cable could be stretched. I greased all the spindles and pulleys. Didn't help it. 🐀🐾

  • @youngcoffey9631

    The drive belt keeps slipping I think the issue is the parking brake tensioner spring or the idler pulley spring, I can’t find either on Amazon. Do you think this will fix the belt jumping?
