It sounds dumb but mk vs Dc was actually kinda the game that got me into fighting games. i was really young at the time so the flaws of the game didnt bother me. i just thought it was really cool and i played it a lot and with everyone i could

gamemasterbob9 nah u right . Mk vs dc introduce Dc charAters into fighting and introduced mortal kombat fighting style a lot better than the ps2 versions . To my opinion this game is fun .

I feel if MKvsDC was made today, NRS would have made it great, considering rebooted MK and Injustice have developed their mechanics and the series are on 2D planes. The T-rating would likely still be in effect in a modern crossover, toning down the fatalities, but I'd be completely fine with it if the fighting mechanics and other aesthetics were solid.

Make one at the recent level since MK 9 re-made these games GOOD (or great) again!
Cuz even till MKvsDC.. MK had fallen in a dark place (one of the reasons they rebooted MK too when MK9 was released)
To be honest I still like that they add at least 1 MK character as DLC in Injustice.. You can have a taste of how an MK vs DC would have been NOW

the best ideas from this game were actually at the the arcade mode endings . Sonya as the bearer of the one and only GL ring on MK verse, The War of Light happening during Armageddon, with the entire GL corps facing Blaze. Sub Zero becoming the Earthrealm's Batman. there are lot of crazy ideas in there.
MK has always had this issue though. I think most of the best endings have always been non-canon.
Kinda funny watching this as a guy who likes it. But at the end of the day, even with all its flaws, it's single-handedly thanks to this game that we ended up getting our higher-quality MK and DC games of nowadays. Makes you wonder what may have become of the MK series without this game, as well as if DC fighting games would've ever reached the level of quality of today's.
PS: How about Eternal Champions for the next Fighting History?

So, we should thank this game for nearly killing the series? No, just no. If anything it should be derided much more for even almost accomplishing that. This is just as bad as saying we should thank Sonic 06 for nearly killing the Sonic franchise just because the following games were much better by comparison.
If you don't make bad games, then you don't need wake up calls. Simple as that. A franchise shouldn't need to nearly die to have quality entries.

This perfectly encapsulates why I am really hesitant about MvCI, the plot is almost the exact same setup as MK vs DCU.
Attoram say what you will about this train wreck but it at least established the characters meeting each other for the first time, misunderstanding their surrounding and pretty much a complete plot. Infinite starts in act two. AFTER the characters should have met for the first time and misunderstood each other. Seriously I don't care what anyone says Dante would not just immediately work with someone like iron man or captain America. Same with someone like ghost rider
Please make more of this, Max. I really love this series and love your take on more obscure fighting games. Not sure how many times I've rewatched these.

The Dark Knight Returns Part 2 was a better Batman vs Superman fight than the live action film was in my opinion. Even IF Green Arrown had to help. I can't recall the quote exactly but Batman says something along the lines of "Just remember that it was ME that beat you." Oh! So EPIC!
