People shit on this game but it really laid the ground work for MK9. A narrative story mode where you'd play as a set amount of characters, for 4 fights each. Visible body damage during a fight. Focus on the core roster. Combo meter burn, and such.
Without MK vs DC, MK9 would not go on to become the best game in the series.

Supposedly the dlc fighters had Midway not went bankrupt would have been Quan Chi, Harley Quinn, Kung Lao and Killer Croc at least that's what i heard.

Well seeing as The Joker seems to be rumoured/leaked heading to MK11 as dlc and DC comics have gotten drastically more violent in recent years it could happen.
They could do like *Dragon Ball Z Extreme Butouden* & *One Piece Great Pirate Colosseum* did
The 2 are two separate Games (made in the same Gam Engine) with separate Characters
But you can link the 2 Game and have Goku & Vegeta fight against Luffy & Zoro

But in Deathstroke's Ending there's another Sub-Zero that became a Member of Deathstroke's Assassin Clan (in my opinion that was Kuai Liang that escaped from the Lin Kuei's Cybernitification Program)

Was Kenny bored during the MK Legacy series? He always disappeared for long periods of time.
I'd like to think that MK4 and MKvsDC were the transition games of the whole franchise. After the classic MK games, Mortal Kombat 4 tried to recreate the same fighting formula in 3D, and then after the 3D era games, MKvsDC tried to go back to the old formula, without all characters having multiple fighting styles, while still being the same 3D controls implemented in the 3D era games.
In the expanded universe stuff, Boba Fett has ended up in the Sarlacc THREE times. Once he crawled out, another time he was rescued, and another time... I forget. Point is, he has some kind of destiny there.

There was going to be a legit MK8, but the studio was in a transition period, so the timing wasn't good. Despite all the issues with this game, it was a big step up in terms of storytelling and laid some groundwork for future games.
Yeah, I think the biggest problem with this game was presentation, we *know* NRS can tell a good story, we saw it in MK9, and we *know* they can get the DC universe right, we saw that in Injustice, it's just that this game has a lot of things that work against it, such as the weird clash between Mortal Kombat and the non-lethal nature of a lot of DC characters.
Listing off Boba Fett's accomplishment doesn't mean he isn't a jobber, just means he's employee of the month.

I think this story is all in Raiden's mind during Armageddon. He got hit in the head hard, fell asleep, dreamed about him fighting Superman and others and when he woke up, everyone but Shao Kahn died.

This was for real my first mortal kombat game and now Im still playing mk11 today so this game definitely got me into the series even if it was a bit flawed.

I remember when my dad got this game for our PS3 shortly after Christmas in 2009, I'll never understand how this became a "Greatest Hits" title looking back. Thankfully this was Midway's last game before Netherrealm Studios took over, so I would not mind seeing Netherrealm tackle a potential Marvel vs. DC Universe in the future.

MK vs DC is a guilty pleasure of mine. It's one of my go to games when I want to play a fighter but not seriously
so your saying that this is technically after mk11 chronologicaly? since mk9 is a reboot and goes right after armageddon, and this is after armageddon, but also since raiden altered the timeline slightly, the events of this game might not happen again... raiden literally changed the universe for the best, if only he knew that, he wouldnt punish himself so harshly
Is it me, or do the IPs here just not gel nearly as well as those in other crossover games? It all just feels off. I'd say the best in that regard is probably CvS2 (SamSho and Last Blade characters aside, it feels like it could all be in the same world).
Obviously this was influenced by Marvel vs Capcom, which conceptually doesn't sound good either, but when you think about it, MvC was born out of 90's culture, it was Resident Evil, it was the X-men cartoon, it was Maximum Carnage, it was Mega Man, it was Akuma, it was Apocalypse. MK vs DC does *not* have that common thread of pop culture from a specific decade to unify its clashing elements.
And then you look at some other crossover games, like Blaz Blue Cross Tag Battle, besides the fact that they are mostly made by arc sys, those games all have some similarities in their concepts, tropes and worlds, they could totally coexist. Smash is a celebration of popular games that have been on nintendo consoles. Every *good* crossover game has some unifying element, NRS kind of managed to make one for DC, by making that universe their own with Injustice, MK and DC are able to coexist *now*, because of NRS, but they totally didn't before Injustice.
