Funny thing, they re-used the death animation of Onaga from MK Deception for Blaze's defeat in MK Armageddon, Dark Khan for MK vs DC, and Shao Khan in MK9.
Though, the explosion thing was there since mk2
Shao Kahn got a unique but similar explosion. It had become a staple by that point, but it was not specifically reused.
They reused Onaga's animation for this one, the other games have diferent animations, MK just likes to explode their villains I guess.
Hopefully MK2(13) let's the players to both unlock/play as and do fatalities on the final boss.

I think Havik is the most underrated MK character in the series honestly. He has a cool design, a crazy fighting style and specials, and he has a ton of potential. Really wish he'd come back.
I think he is the very best of the worst, and considering how many crap characters there are, Havik does indeed deserve another shot at this and could easily have been in MK11 rather than "The Kollector" which I so far consider one of the worst characters in the entire series.
Did you know Havik's alternate outfit was originally supposed to be Noob Saibot's main outfit redesign?

@@Mike4Lifexx Characters have drastically smaller movesets than other fighting games and are way easier to create and balance. If you add too many characters to a game like MK or any other fighter it gets way out of hand. Play Tekken Tag 2 to see what I mean.

I've never forgiven Ed Boon & Co. for not including her in the PS3 or Xbox versions of MK Armageddon. She's one of my favorite characters and unlike the ridiculous Meat and Mokap, she has an actual storyline!

Technically MvC2 is a game with dozens of characters copy and pasted in and only a handful are actually usable. The game is fun though, so whatever.

Mortal Kombat Armageddon was my favorite mk game 🤗 I also enjoyed Mortal Kombat Gold on Sega Dreamcast.

Armageddon was just the 3D equivalent of MK Trilogy, since it followed after MK4; Deadly Alliance and Deception.
Unpopular opinion: I actually liked Smoke’s primary look in this game.
Its very unique and you gotta respect that, but I'm a cyber ninja simp to the ends of the earth. The gaseous effect is really cool and I wish they tried it again tho

they all had good ideas and intentions but so badly executed
I can see where he's coming from. The fighting mechanics were rather poorly thought out and it led to clunky, rather slow gameplay. The stance mechanic, while a cool concept, was just obnoxious to use more than anything. It was also unbalanced as shit, i heard that it was so unbalanced that these games weren't accepted in tournaments.
Then the majority of the new characters are really uninspired. Hsu Hao is just Kano with a chest laser instead of an eye laser. Darrius is just a black guy, Dairou is just an asian guy. Kobra is just shameless how they just ripped off Ken Masters and Kira is just some chick. None of these characters had unique fighting styles or unique powers. Not to mention their designs were bland as shit. Only really Nitara, Ashrah, Havik and Kenshi stand out.
This is a personal of mine, but i kind of hate that they decided to focus a lot of dev time on minigames like chess, puzzle and motor kombat. They could have refined the main gameplay, the actual fighting, but instead decided to waste a bunch of time in these minigames. These minigames would have been fine to be made if the main gameplay was actually solid.
The people who say he's being too harsh sound like they haven't touched these games in literally over a decade and are going by a fuzzy, nostalgia blinded memory of these games. While Max is actually playing and he's not liking them very much.

It was a natural evolution of the design. In MK4 he was already covered in green scales.
Chameleon and Khameleon are cool characters. I hope they'll come back. Armageddon has some monotonous fighters but I still adore the idea of adding everyone from the past. Big respect! I'm sure, the remake of this game would be fantastic

This was the first MK I ever played and one of my favorite. So many memories.
It's a great idea to have everyone in one game, but my problem is that everyone ends up feeling a bit samey (especially compounded with how fatalities work and the arcade endings).

I'm gonna disagree with the Doods here, I like Onaga. His story coulda used more setup, but I really like the 9-foot tall dragon king that can cause tremors with a stomp, send enemies flying with a flap of his wings & incinerate victims with fire breath. Onaga is how I wish Shao Kahn had been designed/presented way back in MK2. Seeing Goro take orders from a body builder with a mallet is disappointing when compared to the dragon king

Meat is the unfinished creation of shang stung and was freed when Shang stung died and went into hiding. After defeating blaze he gained the ability to shapeshift

Honestly imo they are quickly on their way there again lol. At least with all the timeline and alternate stuff. You can balance decent enough with enough budget effort and teamwork I think. They have two of those things in spades. Effort maybe not so much simply because there isn't enough effort to spare when they are constantly having to crunch deadlines. Or rather I should just say not enough time given. There is enough talent there to do wonders given time and passion.

Steve it's rate the costume. You can't give Blaze a 7 because "he's a rage monster and they gave him extra powers". You just have to rate the design of the costume on that character, not the story and abilities and all that other crap.
