Chef Pii is welcome to run a small business doing whatever the hell she wants but she needs to be held accountable for not following legal labelling requirements and for making people sick.

    • @asideofaioli4630
      @asideofaioli4630 Pƙed rokem +13

      @@breeannascott8973 garlic is an emulsifier, but I don't think lemon juice is. Honey can also act as an emulsifier; she listed that in the ingredients. Would sunflower oil really be an emulsifier though? Soybean oil can bc it has enough lecithin in it, but I don't know about sunflower seed oil.
      But for the amount of oil she had in that blender, where would the water come into play? You need enough of a water-base for the oil to emulsify into, right? But the blender was full of oil (saw clips of chef pii). Yet, water is the 1st ingredient?
      Which is why I agree with op, I don't think what she has on her ingredients list reflects what is actually in the sauce. It seems she used a store bought base (like mayo or ranch), and then added to it.

    This sauce is made with mayonnaise, something that MUST be refrigerated after opening. This sauce is not refrigerated during shipping. Someone said her shipping takes up to 3 weeks. So you’ll be eating Mayo that hasn’t been refrigerated for around 3 weeks. You can get VERY VERY sick.

      The ranch powder is a big concern too, while homemade mayo needs to be refrigerated since it can't be pasteurized properly, at the very least regular mayo you buy at the store can technically be left out, it just doesn't last as long. *That's not the case here* and you're also adding the ranch, which has dairy. So basically, unpasteurized dairy and eggs, left out in summer heat, being shipped in trucks that might be hotter than the actual temperature outside, from a home kitchen that we have no idea the food safety measures of. Big, red, flags.

    • @mandom5714

    • @beepbeep7397
      @beepbeep7397 Pƙed 2 lety +53

      @@mandom5714 There’s a few more problems than that. First, she doesn’t put any preservatives in the mixture, so even if she shipped it in something cool it still has the chance to go bad. Also, the ingredients claim that there’s raw honey in it. Raw honey can become lethal in the wrong conditions because of a bacteria that can grow in it, she’s sending it out with no preservatives and no cooling and that bacteria can grow. She also hasn’t gotten the product fda approved or followed cottage laws, so legally that’s also a problem. And one last thing I can think of that’s wrong is that she doesn’t specify all of the ingredients, she never mentions mayo or any mayo ingredients when it’s obvious there is because of the texture and also because she’s shown videos of her making it with mayo in the blender. The problem is that people that are allergic to eggs could get a bad reaction from eating it and that could cause more legal trouble since she should’ve put that on the bottle.

      @@StoicVeR I've had dragon fruit before, it's very mild, slightly sweet, a bit floral. Maybe like a cross between pear and cucumber, but very subtle. There's pink and white ones, and the white ones are sweeter. Have you ever had prickly pear? It's sort of similar to that. She uses powdered dragon fruit, but I think it's just for the color. I live in Kansas City, MO, USA. We have a pizza chain here called Pizza Shoppe that started making what they call Pink Stuff and they have been making it for decades. It is basically what you made. A garlicky ranch with a pepto-bismol pink hue. The recipe for it is a closely guarded secret. I think they get their pink color from tomato paste tho. Or red food coloring. Only they know for sure. It’s good on salad, as a dip, on sandwiches, or really anything. It used to only be available at the restaurants but about 15-20 years ago started bottling it and selling in grocery stores in our area. It is safe for transport, shelf stable, and can be ordered online and shipped. It only needs refrigeration when it is opened. They don’t make it in the store, they partnered with a local food producer to manufacture and bottle the product. It isn’t homemade in any way. It is mass produced, but it’s darn delicious and safe if you aren’t allergic to any listed ingredient or allergen. It is made in an FDA regulated facility and has FDA approved labels. It’s a small local chain with maybe 5-10 stores. So still a smallish business but they did it the right way. People wanted it badly and asked until they satisfied the demand for their awesome Pink Stuff.

    Me watching Emmy add ranch mix: That's gonna get thick.
    Emmy: Whoa. This got thick while it was sitting here.
    That's the ranch mix. I'm also willing to bet this will taste much different in a day or two.

      Hmmm, different in a good way or bad way? I have a hard time trying new things, lol. I’m skeptical about this one.

      @@Mani-period Based on what they're talking about, it'll either taste better or just kind of different. Given time to sit, the ingredients and spices in the ranch mix will have a chance to leech their flavour out into the rest of the sauce, like how the flavour of a chili or curry will mature after a day in the fridge.

    Interesting! Here in Venezuela we use a Salsa Rosada (pink sauce) made from Mayo, ketchup and mustard. really tasty with fried foods.

    My initial thought was, looks like lumpy Pepto, which made me think of endless bouts of stomach flu when I was a kid. But, once I fought down my gut reaction (pun intended), I of course, enjoyed video. I even want to try this. Emmy works her magic again.

      The original sauce is the opposite of Pepto, considering it will give you bouts of stomach flu symptoms (severe food poisoning) >:P
