Does anyone else feel like panning products we’re not even sure we like is just keeping us from using the products we do like and thus sucking the joy from makeup? I’m giving myself permission to release what doesn’t work for me, and use what does. 💛 (Oh, and not buying any more stuff…holy goodness I have enough.)
I stopped panning this year and focused more on rotating through my collection and just using what I love 💕
I like “panning” completion products because I have tendency over buy those when I only have one face to use it. And it’s not that I don’t like the ones I already have, I do, but we’ve always being pushed “the next best thing” so I grab more than I ever will be able to use. I think that’s the whole point of panning for me.
But I agree I’ve notice some people struggle though panning even tho they hate the product. I think it needs balance like everything else.
It's more a fact than a feeling 😅 you can only use so much product at a time. I definitely wouldn't hate pan or pan things you don't like/don't work as it does mean you're not using products that do their job well
My mindset about feeling bad about wasted product and money through declutters is that we can't turn back time. We can just learn from the past and strive to do better in the future. I prefer to give myself some grace so that I can enjoy the peace of less cluttered space. I enjoy the space so much that I usually will actually do better.
I like the mini elf palette for like a mini emergency makeup kit in your purse or car. It’s small enough that it’ll be compact and cheap enough that you won’t be sad if it shatters from moving around.

I have been brutally decluttering since I went on a no-buy and unfortunately I also don’t know a lot of people to give my makeup new homes. I like to reframe it as eventually it will become waste even if I use it or not. Taking the time to clean out my old makeup and recycling it is a healing process for me because I am giving respect to the packaging I’ve wasted, making the effort to acknowledge my overconsumption, and make an attempt at giving products a new life. I never want to return to my old spending habits but me now shouldn’t have to suffer for the mistakes of past me!
Great idea, I'm kinda doing something similar, but mine wasn't my idea, I had to temporarily move and my makeup collection is stored away, I will see how much I think about and how much I forget. I have a makeup cart, and that's all I have room for. I'm already feeling less overwhelmed with what I choose to bring with me. I think this is brilliant..
i‘m doing a little „no pan left behind“ project with my eyeshadows this year and it definitely shows me that i must do a declutter. your idea for this fantasy declutter is brilliant 👌🏻 i‘m definitely doing it next year!

Try layering your CT single shadow under the similar taupe shadow in the Tarte in Bloom palette. Love layering the two.

Persona glosses. They are more sheer, moisturizing and not sticky but a little thicker so they stay on decently. They are beautiful and last a long time. I am panning one and I am about a quarter of the way through. And you went to town on blush and lipsticks so impressive. Blush is my weakness everything else I think is really manageable.
I have been wanting to try them for almost three yearss!
Too Faced glosses have a nice formula too. No5 sticky but not slippery with a soft feel. Also Lime Crime Wet Cherry glosses are amazing. Both layer very well over other lip products

Also the way I feel about those merit glosses totally falls into your 'buy to try' theory - I just want to try them to see if I like them! Even though I KNOW i don't like glossy/non-matte lip products

If I don’t like a product, I either give it to someone or sell it very very cheap online. Problem solved. I don’t keep a product I don’t use or like just for the sake of it. Someone might make good use of it. I think life is also about experiencing and learning. We buy the product, we try it. If we don’t like it, pass it on to someone else. Lesson learned. I’ve been trying to stop feeling guilty and looking at it in a different way. It has helped me.
I have two eyeshadow palettes. I'm bored with eyeshadow. I keep using the same shades over and over again. I don't even want to open my newer palette so I just use my small nine pan palette when I have a large 14 pan palette to choice from. The nine pan palette has three shades that are completely empty and two that have large pans.
I think it won't be long before I decide that I want to use the other palette to have more choices, but I just don't do it. I just want to get as much out of this small palette as possible.
What shade is that Burt Bees blush? It looks so pretty and your skin tone is like mine.

Can you film making the glowy lotion with the Mac highlighter? I have the same one and I'm interested in doing the same thing, but a little scared because it didn't work when I did it with a bronzer...very messy 😭

Just get rid of all that. You have enough to use your favourites every day. I got rid of 1/3 of my stuff and I haven’t missed any of it once. The money is already wasted.
