    I mentioned in the previous video that I was running out of money. Well, this is the reason: I bought a house!
    And since this is only the second time I have ever been here, I'd like to take you on a tour of my new house to discover what I actually got myself into.

    congrats to the new house, Mario! be careful with showing your surroundings to the internet, I was able to find the address with 10 seconds of googeling based on your neighbors sign.

      I know, but honestly: it's a house with a gigantic silo in the garden. It was never difficult to find. 🤷🏻‍♂️

    It took until I saw the wonderful garage and workshop space for me to not be afraid (after seeing the bird room)…in time you will improve it and have an incredible home.
    A St. Christopher statue would be appropriate for the niche (patron of bachelors, transportation, and gardeners, among others).
    Congratulations!

    Congratulations Mario - Your new home has so much potential. Schaffhausen is a wonderful place, been there several times. I agree with you on the driveway, do get rid of all the mess so you can open up more space to drive around. I am happy for you.

    So glad you're finally a homeowner. Working on cars in a public building garage is an absolute pain. Besides the impracticality, we all stand this to a different level so I don't know about you, but I hate looking odd to passers by and people in general. That's exactly what happened when I did my own oil changes and stuff, and I hated it. I ended up contracting everything to the dealership, also because it meant saving my back and my time. I guess you were more able not to give a shit judging by the time period you lasted doing this 😂
    I watched a long time ago a podcast (that I enjoyed a lot) where you said that you would never own a house because you basically got a trashcan for 1M CHF in Switzerland. So weighing in the mandatory work left to do, the maybe lesser popular than average canton but the exceptional amount of workshop surface and practicality, I'd go with 1.2M CHF 🙂 Lots of courage for the oncoming work

    Man, sorry, it’s not specifically to your house, but Swiss architects are f*cking terrible. I have seen so many houses with this weird disposition: bedrooms and shower on the ground floor and the living room on the upper floor! That’s totally different from other countries!!! I’ve been to a brand new 2.5M house in canton Zug that is like that! Geezus, so much money spent on a prime location in Zug that could have turned out much better 🤦🏻

    • @swisscarguy
      @swisscarguy  Před 2 měsíci +1

      I doubt any real architect had a say in this place. But they could have made the living area twice as large and more logical if they had planned better. But then again, if they had made a better house I might not have been able to afford it.

    If you paid more than $250k you should be spanked. The bathroom and kitchen need a major upgrade for starters. I know Switzerland is ridiculously expensive and any country that puts a fried egg on a pizza needs an intervention immediately.
