    I know you did this video in 2014 but you did a hell of a good job! I've watched a million on the ELR recently because now that it's discontinued you can get them in the high 20's to mid 30's!! NOW I'm gonna buy one! This thing is a steal at that price!! PLEASE DO A FOLLOWUP VIDEO!! NONE of the review videos speak negative... THEY ALL LOVE THIS CAR!! YOU should do a new review on these as "used"... I would love it. Again, great job on the video and your personality is extremely attractive! Thanks!!

    I found the automobile love of my life - a Gorgeous Gloss Black 2014 Cadillac ELR - online while surfing the web late one evening back in April of 2017. It was a fleet car for Pepe Cadillac in White Plains NY when the well-maintained, pristine, fully-optioned Electric Luxury Roadster with an $80,000 original price tag was put on sale for just $34,000 - with only 11,400 miles. I just had to see it, and this was my first opportunity to see an ELR up close and in person. These are very rare cars since only 2,403 of the 2014 models were made. I was blown away by the futuristic styling and the plush, luxurious interior. And when I took it for a test drive and gave it a little push on the accelerator pedal - the 4,000-pound vehicle pushed me back into the seat as it instantly responded by quickly and quietly accelerating like no other car that I had ever driven before. It was my first ever experience with Electric Drive - and I immediately got addicted. Once you experience the instant torque and the instantaneous response and power of Electric Drive, you’ll never want to go back to driving an old-fashioned conventional gasoline-engine powered car. Gasoline engines have to rev up to 2,000 rpm before they are able to deliver their maximum rated torque, as opposed to electric drive motors, which deliver 100% of their rated torque from a dead stop. And speaking of Torque - the 2014 ELR instantly delivers an impressive 295 ft-pounds of Torque the moment your foot touches the pedal. The supercharged engine in my 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP put out 280 ft-pounds of torque and delivered impressive acceleration, but my 2014 ELR blows it away!
    With gasoline prices at record high levels, my ELR really shines with 37 miles of electric driving range, which covers most of my regular local trips, with the electric drive system delivering the equivalent of 250 miles per gallon. On longer local trips beyond the 37-mile range of the car’s battery, where the onboard gas engine powered electric generator kicks in, I still get very impressive fuel milage - like the 128 miles per gallon the ELR delivered on a recent 43-mile trip that used power from both the batteries and the onboard generator. On long trips, my ELR’s combined city/highway mileage of 59 mpg is more than double the mileage of most conventional automobiles.
    There are many who share my belief that the current battery technology is not yet developed to the point where 100% battery-powered cars are fully practical since they are range-limited and take too long to charge. The ELR offers the unlimited range of conventional gas-powered cars and the convenience of being able to quickly refuel at any gas station. It takes less than a minute to top off the ELR’s 9.3-gallon gas tank and quickly get another 300 miles of range. That surely beats sitting at a charging station for nearly an hour to get only 125 miles of driving range.
    Because of the high sticker price (a Base 2014 ELR cost $75k), and because of its revolutionary Voltec propulsion system, which was beyond the comprehension of average Cadillac owners and buyers of the time, the 2014 ELR was a slow seller. Most people who buy Cadillacs want a 4-door car and since the ELR is a 2-door coupe, it was less attractive to Cadillac buyers and this further suppressed the sales of what truly is one of the most exceptional and amazing cars ever made by Cadillac. Because of slow sales no ELRs were made in 2015 and the ones sold as 2015 models were in fact the remaining unsold inventory of the 2014 ELRs, Production resumed in 2016, but only 545 more ELRs were made before the ELR was discontinued. The 2016 model was a restyled and slightly updated version of the 2014 ELR and personally, I prefer the unique looks and styling of the 2014 ELR over the more conventionally styled 2016 model. If you want to own a rare piece of automotive history in the form of Cadillac’s very first production Electric Car - the 204 ELR is the ticket!

    10:20 that is ridiculous haha! I never knew this car had a secret compartment behind the touch button interface, WOW. Used Volt or an ELR or a Tesla, hmm. Wish the ELR had a hatch and could have a class 1 trailer hitch, then win.
    Would be nice to have seen the fancy LED interior lighting I've heard of, different color options and if it's bright enough inside at night?

    Now will the gas engine change the battery on it's own. Or do people still need to plug it in to change up the battery? And how long can this car can go with out changeing up thte battery. Lets just say if my mom or dad had this car. And we take it on a 6 or 7 hour roadtrip to WI to vist my aunt for?

    • @danwat1234
      @danwat1234 Před 8 lety

      So, in normal or sport mode, the engine will turn on once the battery reaches about 20% charge level and will maintain it, it will not charge UP the battery but will maintain the the level to about 20%. So you can charge it up when you can instead of burning a lot of gas to charge it up.
      In Mountain mode, it'll hold the battery at more like 40% charge level. If it's lower than that when you go into that mode, it'll charge up to that level by the engine.
      Maybe the 2016 ELR has hold mode like the 2013+ Volt has, in that case it'll hold the battery level at wherever you set it at.
      You never 'need' to charge up the battery with an outlet. But it's very good to do.

    I'd get this over a Tesla any day. Also, the gasoline engine does mechanically connect to the drivetrain under certain conditions, it's not exclusively a generator. I was confused about that myself and had to look it up lol.

    • @InSaN3ViSioN
      @InSaN3ViSioN Před 6 lety

      You clearly have never driven a Tesla. 40 miles vs 265 miles. ELR does not compare to the level of the Tesla.

      @@directorjustin Being dependant on gasoline. The whole purpose of EV's is to get off gasoline. Teslas have up to 330 mile range which is more than ELR

      The format chosen on that channel is quite different as opposed to mine which still somewhat amateur(ish). Sofyan is the main star on 2RL as am I with my channel. I actually wore the shirt simply because it's very comfortable & being black it contrasts less whenever I make a frontal shot of myself + I'm friends still friends with the 2RL guys, they won't mind the free promo / product placement lol.

    • @Intechdude300
      @Intechdude300  Před 10 lety

      ***** Well, it gives a sense that there's more immensity to the channel/company by choosing those words. The channel again is utilizing a format that's somewhat similar to the bigger and long time pro journalism sites/channels out there. This way 2RL increases it's chances far greater by being a go to source and being recognized as one of the big players out there which should be the goal of any young company. I can't share any specifics as I'm in no shoes to do so & the last who'd be aware of future decisions lol :P
