great job you gained another subscriber
Great tutorial. Even though I am using Affinity Photo, this works. Easy and simple to follow. But I am getting confused since some tutorials show very different method making this effect. But this one looks more simple. Well, the result is what matters.
Learned a lot, thank you!
Very nice clear instructional video. I liked it a lot. I am interested to see other videos on Affinity Designer from you. Thanks for making it.
Thanks Robert...hope it helps man
Any time sir....glad we could be of service
Love this thank you. I’m trying to work out how to do it on the iPad 😁
Well then maybe next weeks video is how to do it on AD for the ipad ......good idea
I would really appreciate that. And maybe a link to where you got the images from as well. Thank you
thank you!
You got it......I try to make stuff people want...glad I helped
Best teacher ever:)) Do you have video on how to slant text? I saw a video how to make text like metal and saw another on how to make shadow. The shadow is the problem with me lol. I made the shadow but i think it should slant a bit and not sure how to do that. Can't find how to do. Do you happen to have on one of your videos. Thank you
Sure do......check out the drop shadow using affinity designer.....if that is not what you have an issue with let me know and I we can make one....also to slant the shadow you can use the outer shadow effect....and if that doesn't work for you....duplicate the layer....paint it black apply a gaussian blur and move it behind the lettering....and lastly use the transform tab to skew it...that will get it done
This isn't exactly the best tutorial in the world, but believe you me, it's far from the worst. I've been pouring through video after video trying to find out how to do this. Some presenter's works were Ok, but lacking in key details of exactly how they accomplished affects. This creates confusion. Plus...!!! Every goddamned platform has a separate version, and each platform version have their own variations from system to system, and wireless device to wireless device. This only created MORE confusion, as if this program wasn't confusing enough.
I like the way you took the time to show us the steps you took, and you took the time to explain what, how and why you did the things that you did. Your presentation could use a bit of spiffing up. But your tutorial walkthrough is perfect and easy to follow along. I tried so many of the other versions and just ended up with a massive migraine because of the confusion they were creating. The others would start to do something, then all of a sudden stop, pop over to a new tool and make changes without explaining why, and left me scratching my digital head... and with a fucked up photo that wasn't anywhere near what they said it would be.
I like your video. It's easy enough to follow along, and your version of affinity photo is closely related to the version 17 that I am using. Thank you. Keep making demos and tutorials. What you do is fantastic...
Would you ever consider do a pdf version of you videos at all?
Can you show how to make a border around a block of text that follows the shape of the text? Like a stroke, but only around the top, bottom, and sides. Not between the letters. I have two lines of text I'd like to have a bordre around. I hope that makes sense.
Make a larger letter BEHIND the one......then convert it to a curve......once you have it how you want, rasterize it ...and then mask it.....don't forget to group it after so it follows the sizing differences
when I select my image and go to invert selection the marching ants dissapear. if I hit delete it erases the entire image. the only thing that worked was to select the background and then the erase pencil from the tools bar and ears the background in chunks. very frustrating. I do not understand what I am doing different from you.:/
I got same problem 😭
can you help me to figure out why when I select an image to have the back ground removed and I follow all these steps, my image gets erased not the background. I am super frustrated. every time I do this function it is different. sometimes it works sometimes it does not and everyone has a different technique. Please help me if you can.
Alicen Wonderland sure......I believe ur issue is AFTERyou select the bear....u have to remember to invert the selection....if u do not when u hit delete....because the bear is selected....it will disappear it is a very common mistake.
if u want more help....u can use an app called loom and snap a screenshot video of ur workflow .....and feel free to email the link
jhazel@7thseasonstudios
i will be more than happy to review it and help u out.....ohhh....and by the way the email u sent for help on the texture video didn't have a workfile......so send me one with the work file and I will look at that too....we are all about helping out our memebers here...
Honestly, why don't you learn to make masks? Why do you insist on showing destructive techniques that become a nightmare to tweak later?
