    It is a great tool but it lacks some features that we need to make our work easier:
    • shape builder (works like boolean operation but more flexible)
    • multi-purpose tools (e.g. the Pencil Tool in Ai can also work as path Smooth Tool when ALT key is pressed)
    • UI scaling
    • Gradient Controls widget
    • Eye dropper tool to copy object or text attributes and apply it to other objects
    • Pasting in place
    • feature to search for specific commands to configure in the Settings and Keyboard shortcut
    • Easy to use alignment feature
    • and many more
    I wish the developers will add these features as I really love *Affinity Designer*

    Thank you Alessandro, this class is wonderful, you have saved me from going crazy and trying to be perfect with the pen tool, all the close up and walking me step by step is what I needed, I have a SkillShare account and there are no teachers to guide us on this technique, you should really think about teaching there also. You are an excellent teacher and your channel is amazing, keep up the great work and thank you so much!

      Hi, thank you so much for this beautiful comment :D
      I decided to do everything on CZcams and not having any paid courses because I really think education should be free and accessible to everyone. I can sustain myself and keep this channel active thanks to some ads revenue and my patreon page, but other than that, all my videos are and will always be free.
      If you see some of my videos on SkillShare or similar platforms, that means they were stolen and uploaded by someone else (already happened multiple times :P).
      I will definitely do more tutorials about Affinity Designer.
      Cheers

    Thank you for this amazing tutorial! As practice I am using my daughter's drawings and I have seen to come to an issue. My daughter's drawing has a panda with a headband on it and to trace the headband so I can use a different color, I went over the same tracing line as the head. Is there any way to use the same line but have it on a different layer? I hope I am explaining this right.

    • @alecaddd
      @alecaddd  Před 4 lety +1

      If I understood properly, you could duplicate that line to another layer and only edit what you need and keeping the overlapping part identical.
      I don't think there's a way to use a line from another layer in a new layer. I might be wrong, tho

    Are you familiar with android/ios apps that cartoonize your photo some effects simlair to the rotoscoped look in scanner darkly, which in my opinion looks like a dirty version of the art on the cover of Gta San Andreas?

    • @alecaddd
      @alecaddd  Před 6 lety

      It's a personal choice, it doesn't really exist a right or wrong approach. I prefer to use the pen only when I don't have to do precise things, or moving vertex around by few pixels. I know designers that use only the pen for everything they do.
      A matter of habit.

    haha, I thought (for 10 minutes) that there is hidden commend for tracing the image inside AD, but it is just manual outlining of image.

    how about a gradation effect if we export them to ai. files? is it crash or become a pixel layer?

    • @alecaddd
      @alecaddd  Před 7 lety +1

      I didn't test the export features for AI, after I switched to Affinity Designer I never had the necessity to use illustrator again.

    Very good, but I was hoping for an image trace function like Adobe Illustrator... Just so I don't need to trace every element by hand...
