Rain-X Silicone Endura Premium $50 Wiper Blade Review and Installation

  • This is a review of the new Rain-X Silicone Endura Premium Wiper Blades as shown on a 2002 Acura TL-S with J-Hook wiper arms. These wiper blades are sold exclusively at Walmart for $25 each or $50 for a pair. They came out in 2019 and are made in Indonesia.
Some people have mentioned having difficulty installing these blades. The new redesigned blade attachment piece for the common J-hook was slightly redesigned and now has a little clip/flap that you click down after installing the blade. But people are having difficulty pushing that little clip down. This is because the blade has not been installed all the way in yet.
You'll think you have them on, but you gotta pull up REALLY hard for it to properly click in place all the way. I thought I was gonna break them when installing them on my moms car. Then that little flap shouldn't be difficult to close at all. Rain-X must have redesigned it in the last few years because it certainly was not that difficult to install them for me, as you saw in the video. Perhaps some people have been incorrectly installing them, resulting in the blade falling off while driving. So they had to come up with a more secure design.
If you look at 3:59, right between my thumb and finger, you'll see 2 little V-shaped indents inside the wiper blade attachment assembly. You want the end of the J-hook to be inside of those indents. You can then see it again with the blade correctly installed on the wiper arm at 6:51.
Here are some links as to where you can find these blades as well as additional information from the manufacturer:
    - Purchase from Amazon - amzn.to/37tbapO
    - Purchase from Walmart - www.walmart.com/ip/Rain-X-Sil...
    - Additional information - www.rainx.com/silicone-endura/
I would also recommend the Rain-X Windshield Washer Fluid with rain beading technology, also available at Walmart for a great price. Watch it in action in the video! The orange All-Season 2-in-1 fluid as well as the purple -30°F De-Icer fluid both work great. I've never used the green Bug Remover fluid, but I can assume it also performs well based on my experience with the other two. Prices are cheapest in stores rather than online, but here are some links below:
    www.walmart.com/ip/Rain-X-Bug...
    www.walmart.com/ip/Rain-X-All...
    www.walmart.com/ip/Rain-X-30-...
Initial Review: Highly recommended - 10/10 rating
The 3 main things I look for are quietness, ability to wipe cleanly and smoothly, as well as look for how much water is drawn back on the return sweep to the right in front of the driver position. This wiper blade excelled in all 3 categories on my initial review as shown in the video. These are extremely quiet as the only thing I can hear is the wiper motors when at a standstill, they wipe as clean as one could ask for, and there was minimal drawback even under heavy rain conditions. The only downside is these blades cost $50, but so far I would say it's definitely worth it. You can slow down the video playback under the Speed Settings to get a better look at the wiper blades in action in slow motion.
These wiper blades are configurable with any vehicle that has a J-Hook, Small 3/16" Pin, Large 1/4" Pin, PTB, Narrow PTB, P&H, Narrow P&H, I&L, or I&L Clone wiper arm configuration.
I am not sponsored by anyone in the making of this video. I purchased these products with my own money on my own will.

What better test than in the rain! A tip for all the people installing wipers, put a towel doubled on the windshield in case the bare arm snaps against the windshield. My brothers did exactly that, and he has a cracked windshield to replace. Very costly mistake.

Nice video. When I first saw these online, I thought the blades were yellow. Good to see that it is just packaging. I ordered a set for my 2015 Odyssey as the originals were torn up on the ends. They don’t make these for the rear blade so went with plain TRICO ExactFit as I rarely use the rear blade.

Hilarious. Prior to watching this video I had watched a video review on Amazon from someone showing how poorly these blades performed vs a Bosch blade. Said video is only a few seconds long and yeah it looked bad. Then I watched this video and noted how you mentioned folks not removing the yellow plastic protective cover over the blade. Sure enough, went back to the Amazon review video and it clearly sill had the yellow protective cover on it. Unreal.

Rain-X is the brand, and while they do make some blades that apply a water-repelling coating as you wipe, these Silicone Endura blades do not. As for the extra clips, those are for different style wiper arms. For your car, you have a simple J-hook design, where others do not. So you don't have to worry about the extra clips that came with the wipers!

I actually just got these blades for my moms car with the J-hook as well. You'll think you have them on, but you gotta pull up REALLY hard for it to properly click in place all the way. I thought I was gonna break them. Then that little flap shouldn't be difficult to close at all. Rain-X must have redesigned it in the last few years because it certainly was not that difficult to install them for me, as you saw in the video. Perhaps some people have been incorrectly installing them, resulting in the blade falling off while driving. So they had to come up with a design that was more secure.

People the yellow protector on the blade slides off then you put the wiperblade on . When you put them on if you have a j hook pull snugly so they snap in easy and simple. Why people are having problems with the simplest shit is beyond me. Food for thought do not put rain x water repellant on your wind shield it causes a haze when blades are wiping and wear out your wiper a blades quicker. This video could have been done in 3-4 minutes not 10 -11 minutes. Another thing I thought was kind of funny he has rain x on his windshield why use your wiperblades? These specific wiper blades don't have that technology integrated into them, nor does it mention to do this anywhere on the packaging or instructions.
