  • With Valeo, make it simple to detect wiper defects ... make it easy to sell!
Wiper blades are a key visibility tool for drivers. While checking a car, it's important and compulsory to have a look at them.
There are 4 common wiping defaults you can easily detect and solve.
    1. Stripes
Stripes appear on the windscreen, when the rubber lips are damaged or fractured. You need to change the wiper blade to solve the problem.
    2. Water Haze
A water haze appears on the windscreen when the rubber lip remains flipped on one side, and does not reverse. You need to change the wiper blade to solve this problem.
    3. Judder and noise
If your wipers judder and make a noise when using the windscreen washer, it's because the rubber has hardened by ageing or because of varying temperatures. You need to change the wiper blade to solve this problem.
    4. Unwiped zones
If some areas of the windscreen are not wiped, it's because of the wind lift on the wiper at high vehicle speed. You can check tip force or change the wiper blade to solve this problem.
A good wipe of the windshield is without water haze, noiseless, un-striped wiping and totally clean.
Your customers needs comfort and security: they need to change their wiper blades at least once a year!
    Valeo, automotive technology, naturally.

A few things to try if you are having poor wiping performance; Clean the wiper blade and windscreen with warm soapy water, followed by a clay bar for the windscreen and then wax and grease remover to remove any stubborn contaminants. If you have issues with wiper arm pressure, you can lubricate the wiper arm spring with wd40.
