Woodturning | Chestnut Firework Platter | String Pull Effect

- To bring in the New Year I decided to make a platter with a firework design. I chose a 12 inch piece of Chestnut Wood and used iridescent paints with the string pull effect to create the piece.
It was a fun project to make and I had a lot of fun with all the colours.
Thank you for all the support you have all offered me during 2020 and I hope 2021 is going to be a good year for everyone.

I have had more time to spend in the workshop and have made this platter using the string pull effect to make a firework effect for the New Year. Hope you all have a lovely time and I hope to see you in 2021.

Happy New Year to you Caitlan. I love word play, I taught school (mostly 4th grade) for over 35 years. I loved “messing” with minds. Making them think just a bit more about something. I thought you would also enjoy it. When you looked up “Roy G. Biv” I knew I was right. Your work is fun to follow. It is interesting, evolving, and always creative. (There, now I have put pressure on you!). You are an outstanding individual and I enjoy following the ups and the few downs of you efforts. You are an explorer and someone I would loved to have had the opportunity to teach. My 75 year old mind isn’t what it used to be, but I will continue to try to make interesting comments.

That's a great piece Caitlan. Interesting idea to tape the string down to pull them all off together. I've recently used the string pull technique for the first time and love the effect. Always unique in what is achieved.
