  • This is the second platter I have made towards my GCSE Project. The theme is fantastic and strange and I have always found butterflies to be fantastic and to combine them with a flower would be a strange thing to do.
The platter is made from a piece of Ash which I shaped then created a canvas to work on in the middle. I sprayed this with lacquer before using iridescent paints and string pulling technique to create the design.

This is my second piece towards my GCSE Project Work on the theme of Fantastic and Strange - butterflies are fantastic and I think a plant that produces butterflies would be quite strange. I hope you enjoy the video as much as I did making the project.

I like your colour choices as they compliment each other without overwhelming the background. The contrast of the yellow wood and black also works well. You don't disappoint.

That really came out great. Love the string pull technique. The last 2 pulls with multiple colors came out really nice. Well done.

Caitlan, GCSE is in the bag...or bowl. I love the concept of your design. You always put a original creative idea into whatever you do. Your artistic impression of the very rare caterpillar plant is outstanding!
