  • How to fit a Garden Hose End and make it stay there. Hose adaptor click fitting.
    Yes do you have a hose pipe end that just keeps popping off?
    Here is how to fix that.

    Thanks for keeping the 'difficult' part in. These things happen when you're doing something you've done easily before if a camera is on you. Cheers for the knowledge. Going to fix up mine tomorrow. Might take a scalpel though!

    Use a pair of good strong garden scissors... and soaking the hose end in hot water for a few minutes makes it more flexible and easier to connect the fittings.

      I had to leave the end of my hose in a bowl of boiling water for 5 minutes to get the hose soft enough to fit onto the spray gun. It didn't help that the temperature in the garden was only 5C 🥶. Good point on using garden scissors - I was terrified when I saw the risky way he cut the hose. I tend to use a Stanley knife for such jobs, holding the hose on a firm surface (eg paving slab) and slicing through neatly to ensure all my fingers remain on my hand.🖐

    Use garden or copper wire. Make 2 nooses with around 8 inches spare.put them on connection tape to hose double back and tape again. Connecter will not come loose again

    Today's hose (the actual tube) are about 1/4" thick. Very little water gets through. They are a total waste of time.

  • @Gershwin48
    @Gershwin48 Před 2 lety +1

    These quick-connect ends have a huge flaw that made me throw them away. The internal diameter is reduced so much that water flow is restricted, not as much comes out…maybe half. Why don’t they simply build a bigger model that does not reduce flow and change pressure?

    Have been using clip on hose fittings for decades ..and they all start leaking sooner or later. . The USA uses a clamping mechanism which seem much more secure ..I will check with Bunnings.

      The USA does everything better. If you find cheap crap that doesn’t work right in the USA, then you know it came from somewhere else. 9 times out of 9 1/2, that somewhere else happens to be China, the communist country known for introducing all sorts of great treasures to the world, including Covid 19, the disease caused by the Chinese Coronavirus. Thanks, China 🇨🇳 👍🏿

    A pair of scissors would have done this and more safe. That knife could have cut his finger if it slipped . Even if he laid hose on ground and sawed off with a very sharp knife then would have been easier. Thank you to him for sharing this . 👍
