"Boring"? Not in a milllion years! Loved the video, could almost feel the pain of those last few hills. Glad to hear that winter has gone so well. To me the Olympics are athletics - in particular events from 800 up. I can't wait for the 1500. If all of the main protagonists are fit and firing it should be a race to remember. My money is on a Brit 1,2. (Sneeking feeling that Jacob might skip the 1500 citing i njury issues and focus on the 5000 where surely his chances of gold are much better?)

No offence to the strength coach, but as one myself of 20 years working with runners, that is far too much work for one session. Too many different exercises that should be split over 2 or even 3 sessions. Great exercises, just too much for one session. The workout achieved its purpose 4 exercises in. Anything more was just far too much load and hindering recovery.

I think the high intensity lifts are what give him an edge. Comparing him and his competitors, he just isn't as fit as most of the other guys. I think being insanely strong (compared to most distance runners) and his high plyometric work are what compensate for the fitness.
