  • Car would occasionally flag P0039 when accelerating / decelerating sharply. Video shows replacement of stock diverter valve with GFB DV+. P0039 no longer occurs and car's performance feel as if it has improved. Same modification applies to Peugeot 3008, Citroens and other vehicles with the 1.6 THP engine.

Thanks for this interesting Video! How much Kilometres/Miles got your 308 until you needed a new DV?

firehawk333 Around 125,000km. Seems to be a common issue. Likely to depend on location/climate.

Hi, thanks for the video. I have 2018 308 1.2 puretech at 62k kilometers. A turbo whistle has started since last week when I lift off the accelerator. I hear wuff whistle when I lift off while accelerating a little bit fast. I’ve seen someone on the internet was mentioning diverter valve failing. Would that be the reason? Authorised dealer says this is a normal sound but it was not there a week ago.

Perhaps check all the intake ducting for cracks or leaks. I experienced engine codes when the diverter valve started to fail.

Great video DanTubez. I'm experiencing similar issue with my 208 GTi. Is the GFB much louder than the Peugeot DV? I've seen the forge ones around but they seem way to loud for standard use.
    Thanks,
    Raul

Thanks for the feedback. It's not loud at all. In fact, for everyday driving, if I didn't know it was fitted I would never know. When driving more aggressively, you can hear a small difference from the stock part. Cheers.

Hey, I'm really not sure, you could probably check at the official GFB website.

Hi, any other issues like this one that the 308 may also have coming up?
I’m looking at purchasing a 2010 308 auto with 125000km for my son, it needs a fuel pump for hard starting in cold weather, according to the Peugeot dealer ranging from $1700-$2200 but I’ll do that myself under $400 with a filter too.

Hey there, timing chains seem to be a common issue on this engine also. Mine was replaced at around 120,000km. The 6 speed auto is a great gearbox.

Although I haven't experienced it with my engine, carbon buildup on the intake valves is also a common issue on this engine (being direct injected), one symptom is hard starts... removal of the head is usually required unless you can find somebody who can walnut blast them without removing the head.

@@Justfixitmate So, ive done some more digging with the seller. and contacted the service centre who says its the high pressure fuel pump on the side of the engine is at fault on this one. OMG! not a cheap one but easily installed by myself by the look of other videos.

I've heard people using GFB DV+ valves getting the valve stuck. Have you also experienced it?

Hey , still have p0039 error after installing it. Car's NOT in limp move , goes perfectly. RCZ-R @302hp
If i clear it with a professional OBD erro goes away , turns back after 10 days.
    Bah..

G'day. When you install the DV+, you re-use the original solenoid. If the rubber's were not perished before the upgrade, there's a chance that the original solenoid is at fault. Perhaps check that the cylinder is moving freely and smoothly. Failing that, test with a known good original part. Over 4 years later - no issues here. Good luck!

Can you evaluate the performance? Did you notice a difference in acceleration? Thanks .

    • @Justfixitmate

Hi! Compared with the stock part which was somewhat malfunctioning, the new part feels really solid. I notice much snappier, smooth gear changes. Relatively speaking, it has always accelerated quickly, but now definitely better. Before, it felt a bit floppy and unpredictable when it came to gear changes when flooring it. Really happy with how the car performs after this mod.
