Love these videos. By far the most interesting ones on Eiyuden Chronicles I've seen so far.
Need a character tier list as well.
Yumerius and Momo definitely some of the top characters for sure.
Don't have much hatred on most,but Gaerin,Isha and Maelin are some of the other good characters that I use personally.

Don't forget to put "early to mid/first companion", "mid to late", "late only".
I actually rate the rune of armor really highly since that rune lets you have S rank armor by chapter 3-4, and that damage reduction lets you tank damage much easier in hard mode.

Will you do info on normal mode? Some of us are not playing hard mode lol those mp values are ridiculous.
Probably not as I have zero experiance in that mode and don't think I want to replay the game on normal
This still applies well to normal mode! Just half the MP cost and apply
Also a thing to note: You don't want to use your Hero-Combo's either. At least the ones that use multiple characters to deal damage to only one enemy. They absolutely messed up the damage formula for combo-attacks and in all cases you deal more damage when the single heroes each use the attack-command instead.
The only exception is when you use something that hits a row or all enemies because in those instances the turn/SP conversion might be worth it.
The best example would be the combo-attack between Seign and Nowa because it attacks all enemies for only 1SP both so it's a good tool to soften up the enemies once or twice and you deal overall more damage per turn/character wheras the combo attacks between Marisa and Wayve is not worth it for 3SP even though it also attacks all enemies. You'd think it deal at least double the damage but it really doesn't. There are better ways to invest SP, too. For both of them.
tl;dr: avoid hero/combo attacks other than for being fancy

I'd take the RadianceRune over the StormRune any day. The Crusaders Horn is pretty much the best party-buff in the game, hands down.
I'd say the exception in my playthrough was the Nowa/Seign/Marisa combo. Sure it deals less overall damage, but it absolutely shatters enemy armor which I found really useful
Hi there , I know that you use term best , op and ultimate etc but is there a way really that one can beat game with characters of his/her choice? Like there is no "meta" build? Like suikoden 2 I remember I beat game with hero, mc dohl, shiro the dog and few other characters and i had fun and blast with it
The game is very easy overall with just a few suoer hard points early on. Use whatever you want

Does the MP costs increase for spells based on lvl? Or is thay hard mode MP costs? My aoe heal is 40mp right now.

Hello! What's "charge"? I haven't encountered a character that can "charge" their attack yet. Am I missing something or have I just not gotten to that character yet?
Charge Up is a defensive stanace on some characters, the Sharks have this i.e you basically charge attack power for two turns and than do massive burst dmg on the third turn
I haven't played on hard mode, but I still came to the same conclusions you have. Magic damage is trash unless it is used by a character with a high affinity to the element against an enemy with a low affinity to that element - in this case, it can rival (sometimes beat) physical, unfortunately, you are limited by MP.
Yeah the damage isn’t high enough and you have MP as the limit/ barrier while physical attacker can do whatever they like every turn. As a fan of magic, I play in hard except that I don’t activate the double MP/SP cost in the beginning when you choose the difficulty setting
Dark Rune's Sacrificial Brand : I had the same logic as you because it destroyed Reyna, but sadly it never worked on any boss past her. So yeah, it's actually trash.
can you do best battle plan (auto battle) setup as well next pls
Auto attack is all I use for auto. Anything more feels bad

@mul25 no they will use magic sometimes or sp skills. I just set it all to auto attack
Imo the full on hard mode throws balance off and favor physical attacker than magic user. The double MP/SP cost is sucks for magic user cause their power becomes so limited in long dungeon while physical attacker can just dish out normal attack freely. I think if players want to enjoy their magical characters, better to not play with double MP/SP cost. There are others hard mode choices that you can enjoy and will give you challenges but that mode specifically takes out fun from dishing cool run lens often
Yes hard mode all restrictions probably made the game less fun and more just auto attack everything overall.
I think how runes work in suikoden 2 is better, more satisfying, need no mp only quantity each runes level
runeshards are a thing and buyable and farmable , a good way to cast spells without mp
they cant be used on hard mode with restrictions so im not really aware how good they are
Well, power being better then magic is a bit missleading, as some characters basic and skill attacks scale from magic not from power, there are actually a few magas that hit like a comet with their basic attack 😅 also mages have more rune slots, so they can outdamage pure fighters and still use magic 😊
Where is rune of radiance? This buffs attack, magic and gives HOT.
I didnt find it strong since you can get that effect for basically zero mp with the hero combo with francesca
@@purplatypus7405but then you have to bring francesca which is bad and died really quickly. At least with that rune you can have independence on the party setup

They need to buff magic or allow for better mana regen. Itaa ridiculous how bad mages are
mages get good in the super late game in endless mode when you are basically done with the game. Its lame it takes so long for they to catch up

ive not played normal mode and I dont want to replay the game just for that difficulty. however if something is viable in hard mode it should be even stronger in normal mode
