    These are all great tips! Here are a couple more advanced things I have discovered:
    1. Raw stats are king - particularly Strength. When creating character load-outs, it is best to maximize their offensive stats, because the payoffs are more significant. Strength Up buffs go a LONG way.
    2. Each unit has hidden elemental affinities. Units using elemental skills with a strong affinity will deal increased damage with that element; however, if they use an element they have a low affinity with, they will deal decreased damage. Likewise, units being attacked by an element they have high/low affinity toward will take decreased/increased damage, respectively. You can exploit this mechanic by having a high affinity character use their element on an enemy that has low affinity - this is pretty much the only way to make magic damage rival physical attacks, but you are still limited by MP.
    3. Most shops have rare "star items" that have a small chance (between 5-10%) of appearing when bringing up the shop list. You will have to wait 30 minutes after talking to the shop owner to re-roll for the rare item to appear. This can be save-scummed, though. General Stores typically have recipes or theater scripts. I let you guess what kind of items the Armor and Rune shops have.
    4. The treasure chests found in battles will not replenish. Once you open the battle chest in an area, you can move on.

    Falward and Frans have a very good combo that can be abused as soon as you get them. Even on hard mode. 3 SP to fully heal and buff the party. You can abuse when in dungeons by keeping one enemy alive and defending until you get the SP up to heal the team and then just kill off that enemy. A no MP heal for dungeons. I used it clear to almost end game until it started really forcing you to use certain characters.

    played the game with challenges on which make it so you can't get money from combat and found some tips making gold using the trade posts. Focus on buying high cost items when they are at low prices (negative arrows) and returning to that same city to sell them back when the prices change. Keep in mind that these arrows only show the change of prices in that particular city so when trading to different cities take a picture of the prices. A Rug can have negative arrows since it is the lowest price that city has ever had but still be the most expensive rugs in the world so pay attention to the actual price.

    Awesome video, thanks for continuing to cover this game & give more advice!
    Maybe it's because I don't change my team up that much, but I haven't really struggled with money yet. I think I've recruited 75 characters so far, but I've probably only used 1/3 of them.
    The only time I blew through money is when I got frustrated with Seign's squad & how weak they felt! I burned through nearly all my items in the first dungeon from healing & revives alone, so I said "screw it," ran back to town & upgraded everyone at the blacksmith 😂

    Thank you for the tips! The water rune idea is something I'll have to do. I guess my tip to people would be to make sure to really play all the mini games. The card game is fun, but I doubt I'd play as much if I didn't know a character was tied to collecting them. The spinning top game as well.

    You can make easy money in the Den of Dunes, no Janquis required. Just bring along a few item-boosting accessories and watch as the Unknown Items roll in. Even the cheapest ones sell for 5k (appraisal is inexpensive), and you get loads of them from the sidequest. Later on, you'll be raking in even MORE Unknown items, some of which can sell for 75k each! You also get money-increasing accessories, so money should never be an issue once you reach the desert.
    One tip I wish I had known: if you have ANY materials with you when you return to the castle, they will be removed from your inventory, and you will be unable to get them back! If you're trying to recruit characters who ask for material, like lumber or ore, DON'T GO TO YOUR CASTLE! Just zip to towns if you need to rest/save. Also, foraging material respawns if you leave a dungeon, and certain support characters give you higher yields.
    Did you know you can equip multiple water runes? If you equip runes that use two different tiers of the same magic (1-3 and 4-6, for example), you'll be able to cast all those spells, rather than just three. I've found that having a "useless" character devoted to item-based healing suffices instead of a rune-user, and healing items are much easier to come by than MP-replacing items!
    Want crazy levels? Build the Mysterious Room and recruit the character you meet by going through her trial. Even if you get a party wipe, if anyone survives one fight, they'll get crazy levels! I had two characters jump to level 77 and 80 from one battle, and a full party went from level 58 to 60.
    Finally, you can shove mandatory party members in your retinue if they suck. Even Nowa can sit out battles if you'd rather have someone else! Unfortunately, you can't change them out in the menu, you need to go to an Inn or speak with Ymir.

    The thing that saved my ass from insanely tough fights (full groups of six ranged enemies wiping your back row before you get to act) was one spell. The first level spell from the Dark Rune casts Sleep on the entire enemy field. And the spell has a positive initiative modifier, so it almost always gets cast before anything else happens that turn. Some of the enemies losing their action at the start of a fight can turn it from overwhelming into a cakewalk. However, the magic stat on the caster does seem to affect how likely the sleep is to work, so you have to put this on a good caster instead of using it as a utility on a character whose MP usually goes to waste.
    There's a runeshard that casts the same spell, but sadly, the shard version is super slow to cast.

    For the money one of the best cash grab places would be the runebarrows with all those cat enemies. The one where you get CJ. As the cat enemies easily drop between 1 to maybe 6 or more appraisal coins which can be sold for big bucks.

    I have always had infinite money since the mid game, I did the desert dune dungeon wearing the lucky jewel and dropped an insane amount of relics worth 5-10k each. Always had at least 100-200k since then.

    • @15Seili
      @15Seili Před měsícem +1

      Yeah, thats what i dont get. Even on hard mode you have plent of Baqua to spend. I decked out every character and upgraded every weapon to the max value whenever i could and had plent of Baqua for runes and items to spare. You even generate money passively through the castle. Mid-game, you get like 10-20k every 30 minutes or so. Thats plenty for armor alone.

  • @Namorat
    @Namorat Před měsícem

    I earned more than 7 million Baqua, mostly due to the mystery room but also the rather tedious trading achievent of course.
    The first time you enter the desert you get quite a lot of stuff for appraisal, which is worth a lot. I easily got to 100k at that point in the story when I needed it for a certain person.
    Another thing to keep in mind if you plan to 100 % the game:
    it took me 255 egg races to finish this achievement, so be prepared for that (although I fumbled a bit, so 200 could be enough, I guess?)
    I caught 389 fishes before I got every single one.
    Getting an entry for every single enemy has two tricky entries: There are battles where you only need to defeat one to end the fight (plus one where this is ovious since the other enemies are summons). In one case killing the necessary enemy gave me the entry for both, but the other time it did not and figuring out, who I was missing was difficult without any information.
    There is one enemy where you have to lower their health in order to make them call for backup and it is rng if they call for the special enemy. I only tried to get this achievement after having every character between level 60 and 80 with their weapons fully upgraded. Even my weakest character one shot them and I had to try different things. It worked to use a basic wind spell, but still... not fun at that point in the game :D
    I tried to avoid actual spoilers here.

    My tips after 100%ing the game (contains spoilers, as in, contains names of characters; you've been warned):
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
    1. Mages are useless early game. I wouldn't put a single one of them into your party before Lv60. Just yolo Short/Medium tanky characters.
    2. Mages become rediculously powerful (I'm looking at you, Momo, Mellore, Milana) during the endgame/postgame
    3. All characters scale riduclously differently. The characters that you liked in the beginning of the game because they're strong may not stay that way (except Iugo). Try out different heroes as you reach different level breakpoints; i.e. 30, 50, 70, 99.
    4. The heroes that take up 2x slots are useless; don't bother. They're supposed to be "twice" as strong but having the extra action in combat is simply better.
    5. Momo and Leene are basically cheat-codes-hacks-godtier. Use them if you want to turn the game into easy mode. Avoid if you want to have a challenge.
    6. Main stats are king. Just stack Attack or Magic Attack. Every other stat besides Speed is pretty much useless later in the game. As they say, the best defense is FuckingAnnihilatingEverything.

    • @teasjams6895
      @teasjams6895 Před měsícem +2

      Lol, the last tip XD Although it's not entirely true, using luck to increase crits can be good too.

    • @Kyur4deIch
      @Kyur4deIch Před měsícem +1

      @teasjams6895 I do agree that Crits and Luck can be fun, but even with the base luck and crit rates the heroes have at lv99, the game is very generous with the crit actually proc'ing. The enemies are also weak enough where you can just front load your damage and it'll be good enough. The crits just help speed things up.

  • @electrostraw
    @electrostraw Před měsícem

    Baqua shouldn't be an issue at all if u make use of the trading system. There are trade items that is always guaranteed to profit even without paying heed to the price fluctuation. Bringing Janquis a waste of space.

  • @lukaszzylik4437
    @lukaszzylik4437 Před měsícem +3

    I'm kinda pissed off because I couldn't get Leene. I usually finish up all the side content right before the point of no return, but in order to get Leene you have to get all 119 heroes before a certain point of the game. I spent so much time completing beigoma, the card battle and cooking quests after that point.
    So if you didn't know Leene is a missable character.
    Fantastic game btw. I loved all 100 hours I played but I'm still pissed about the Leene thing. I wish there would have been some kind of warning.

    Tip 1: Don't play on console. It's terrible optimization makes consoles implode.
    Tip 2: Don't use combo attacks. They do less damage than 3 separate attacks.
    Tip 3: Use falward and francesca combo heal ability for free heals mid dungeon.
    Tip 4: Don't use 2 slot characters. Dragons are cool. And less useful than two whoman
    Tip 5: If you see a character with the charge ability, use them. Charge is great.
    Tip 6: Just play an actual suikoden.
