I was told the same thing, but I refuse to have a child without a husband/ marriage. Two family household is the best environment for a child.

At this point, you have some Black people and non-Blacks referring to baby mama-ism as "Black American culture." It's clear that Black men and women are on different sides of this issue. @Sugar_bum is a SB Channel troll, but the perspective that "[women] do not need a husband to have children" is DANGEROUS and destructive to Black progress!! The past 40-plus years of Black single motherhood, and associated negative outcomes prove that as fact!!
Very dangerous in every way. The mothers mental health and the child's development. Women are wanting men to take responsibility for children but the immediate fix is women need to preserve themselves for marriage.

Unfortunately, the BW are not going to fix this and I believe unable at this point. The men will have to take the lead on this and somehow figure this thing out. Meaning, a change in behavior will drive different outcomes. Younger BM out here have the right idea but sabotage with this pump and dump mindset. It's all destructive. All of this is painful to watch day in and day out. Our people are choosing dysfunction openly and with no shame. It's on us to fix us and to operate differently. I appreciate the voice and perspective you add to the space SB.

This is not necessarily entitlement. God gave all 'free will' as a choice in this life. However, in exercising that choice, THERE ARE REWARDS as well as CONSEQUENCES that goes along with the choices we make.
It's true that we can do whatever it is we want within legal reason or not. No one's 'bashing' anyone for their decisions. I believe this panel's objective is to help to educate those who are struggling or may have struggled in their choices for correction.
Edit: There are women who choose to have children without a partner via artificial insemination or other means I can't think of at the moment, and have the capacity to raise them up as model citizens. I know of a few who have done this. These women have able, willing and responsible people that make up a 'village' in their lives.
Stop all the damn cap please. You know damn well that the vast Majority of out of wedlock children in the black community are not products of artificial insemination. Most of them cannot even afford to pay thousands for each attempt, nor would most choose to do so especially when they are young and fertile enough to easy have a baby via ordinary impregnation.
It's a serious problem when you women deliberately try to use rare exceptions to justify the choice of single motherhood. You choose a few people you personally know who are wealthy enough to utilize insemination when you should be intelligent enough to admit that the average person in this country does not have $500 in the bank for even an emergency let alone thousands to try insemination, who live paycheck to paycheck and who's children would undeniably benefit from being in a 2 parent household for sociological and financial reasons.
Voluntarily making yourself a single Mom is absurd. I feel like nowadays, women do it for show and vanity. A fatherless household will definitely affect a child later on in life and regret will be felt for not doing it the right way. They will have to live with that consequence, unfortunately.
