By the way, I just bought the courtside black white gold shimmer 1/1 Ant for 6500 psa 9. That card is also level 2 premier level PSA 9, not courtside so, a 1/1 premier is worth way less than 10-11k.

It’s gold but it’s also concourse level. Even though all 3 levels are # to 10, concourse and premier level are far less desirable than courtside and the concourse level and premier level are ubiquitous. Courtside are printed at 2 per hobby box, vs 12 prizms. Aka courtside are 6x less common than Prizms and you are guaranteed 2 courtsides not even courtside prizms. Courtside select are the most underrated cards in the hobby.
To nice ? It's supposed to be fun . If it's not you shouldn't be in the hobby!

Exactly. It's never really even a "trade up" as most of the time, people are just giving away a free card of higher value, and guaranteed, most of the time it's out of a feeling of obligation. If an adult walked around trying to do a Trade Up Challenge, he would get pimpslapped.

Geoff you can always stay strong man. You don't have to give in. Your cards are worth so much more. People are willing to pay for those cards. You shouldn't give into some of the numbers these want on their cards. Your cards have actual comps and their dont. Don't give into comps and trade your valuable cards with strong sales and comps for these risky cards. These guys are buying those cards for half the price and trading them for double if not triple the value they purchased them for. Geoff stay strong on your numbers they are always going to come up and if not they can find someone else to sell those cards too. You should always be lower on the modern stuff and higher on your kobe stuff. Don't give in man. Don't be nervous to say ill pass.

This is why I don’t do trades, people are fast to tell you the market price of their stuff and are firm on it but when it comes to your stuff,they always want it at 20-25% below market

Hi im Travis im 55 i love what you do and the info you give us and teach us! I tried starting to collect cards years ago i didnt and still dont have a lot of money but i tried . Lol i tore open packs and looked for singles but couldnt afford them or tore open packs and just didnt get lucky enough to find good cards to start anything with so i guess i gave up. Lol now i subscribe to your channel and i live through you and the joy you get buying cards! Hahaha thank you for what you do! Look forward to more videos!

Hi Geoff, i love your show, but i think i need your advise. We submitted a rookie #57 Jordan card to Beckett to be graded last month Sept 9th and Beckett claimed they never even received the card even though we have the original USPS Priority mail with tracking number and it was delived on Sept 11th. It's clear to me that someone stole my Rookie Jordan #57 Card over at Beckett. They are refusing to reach out to me via phone, thay are avoiding all my emails as well. What should I do now???? Thanks a bunch

Roth has stated: he doesn’t care about cardboard. He only cares about the money he makes off of flipping cards. That clown needs to be pushed out of the hobby! Only came in in 2021 for all the wrong reasons.
It sucks it has come to this but I imagine most of the dealers and plenty of people that have recently come into the hobby have that same mindset.

Just wondering what would you price the Joe montana 1989 player of the year pro set error card at? I have seen prices from $0.99 all the way up to $4,050. What's your opinion?
People make up fake prices on those early error cards trying to trick stupid people or make their own fake “error” cards because they have print dots. Fake and not really error cards. Even the legit error cards are not that hard to find. The hardest Pro Set error card is the 1990 Dexter Manley drug card and the 1990-91 Pro Set Hockey Paul Gillis bloody nose card and even those are nowhere near $4,000 cards.
It hurt seeing those Kobes get traded. Also thought I’d seen the end of trade up challenges but you handled it well.

Noooo, trading away all those beautiful limited rare SP Kobe cards. It hurts my heart seeing all those gorgeous Kobe going away for young stars. If any of those young stars can be even half as good as Kobe, you will be in the positive with all those trades.
I just bought a 1983 topps baseball full set for 50$. I would say 5 or 6 have a potential of getting a psa 10, not the Gwyn unfortunately. The Boggs looks like it could fetch a 9. The Sandberg, Rickey Henderson, Nolan Ryan and a couple HOF look like very promising for 10s. What is a good time to sell older cards like those if they have a high grade?
Only 10% of the Henderson's and 9% of the Sandberg's have been graded PSA 10. Good luck. Looks like PSA is pop controlling those cards hard.
I would have countered Roth aka the Howell/Ridder flipper by saying the Edwards card isn't a PSA 10, but a 9 and PSA 10 is more appealing to buyers.

To be honest I thought that Ja gold and Luka rc was a great deal for him. I think that trade was good but the second trade I think that jambalaya card was like a crown jewel card you shouldn’t trade. Just my opinion though.
I thought the same thing. That Ant card seems like it’s a hope he’s great compared to the Kobe.
People over, thinking some of these trades. If you think Ja is down cause he’s in trouble and it’s the off-season don’t sell or trade. Just hold onto it . Don’t expect somebody to speculate it’s going to go back up. People want to trade their stuff and get value just assuming things are going to happen . Doesn’t matter if your card is going to go up or down in the future. What is it worth now?
I like the big deals on the high end cards; especially the 90’s inserts always fun to watch.

App idea Geoff: Top 10. Every table at the national has a “top 10” digital showcase of their most unique/rare cards in an app. It just shows the card and the booth number. No chat, bid, bin - just a showcase. This does 2 things. 1) Allows more visibility for the seller, and 2) lets the buyers find some unicorns to go visit and make a play on.
Not for highly liquid or low value cards. Just whales.

The 3% comment was for me if you license the app and have a fee (not for any of the vendors or buyers on an actual transaction).
And it was In jest. I actually like the idea of the app - and it’d be great for vendors to use preshow with other vendors.

The reason why I wouldn't of gone with the Anthony Edwards is because of that soft 9 but in saying that it's a 1/1 Edwards could be the man over these next ten years... rothcards will sell that Kobe for 25k so all in all both sides did well.

I don’t like when you’re basing prices off a app where does this app get the pricing from? Does their pricing fluctuate when people only buy from market movers because the pricing can go up or down when people are not buying from market movers

Anthony edwards isn't worth anywhere near 10k at anytime. Both cards went down . 12k is about the Kobe, but Edwards is nowhere near 5k now. I have doubts all trades are authentic though.

Bgs 9.5 are basaiclly psa 10. Beckets are tough wit there grades they ain’t givin out 10 left and right like psa
With 86 fleer, There were 52 total graded bgs10s for the entire set. PSA has over 20,000 psa10s graded.
I wouldn't have done that trade. This is my thinking. Not for Concourse Ja. It's gold but has common substitute which always hurts. Blue Luka is nice. Though the recent cards have so many colors that it is killing the appeal. Just my preference. Stick to silver, courtside, zebra.
If he sold the Ja Morant from the time he started playing to when he got the season ending injury he made money. Anthony Edwards trade was terrible now and than. No planet was Anthony Edwards card worth 10k let alone 5k.

Exactly, and Geoff should have listened to his own words, that back in 1996 Kobe only had two serially numbered cards where Panini literally made hundreds of golds and numbered to /10’s throughout all of 2019-20 between Select (all different levels, jerseys, autos etc, Mosaic, Prizm, Chronicles, etc.)

That Ja card could be worthless if he has one more incident and gets suspended a whole season or longer. Luka is a safe investment but not rare. It’s probably a fair trade but Kobe is cards are safer.
