This could be 5 hours long, and would not be enough. What a great guy he is.
This could be a series of seasons of them talking and I would watch again and again simply amazing
💯
Wish it was
Yep. I was way more interested with the stuff on his walls.
Geoff, Thank you for taking the time to spend money, lug equipment, and get on a plane. Fantastic once-in-a-lifetime sit down with a world-class collection--- as well as an old-school character! We are losing these types of men in America and capturing this is a piece of history and nostalgia!! Cheers amigo!
I’m enjoying every second of this.. it almost makes me weep because how much I’ve LOVED Baseball ever since my earliest memories, & even when I was 10, 11, 12 I loved the HISTORY of Baseball more than the present day. My friends and I would dress like old-tyme players when we were playing baseball in junior high & high school with the high socks etc and knew all the stats from the “Total Baseball” encyclopedia. My best friend’s favourite was Ruth, and mine was Ted Williams (still is) and we knew all the legendary stories about their careers. My bedroom at home was decorated like Cooperstown with little bats, framed photos of all the HOF’ers, I still have a glove from the 50’s in my room today, and have all the books about the origins of Baseball. I was born and raised Manitoba, 🇨🇦 so was always bummed growing up that I could never go to proper card shows in the US that everyone talked about.
This whole vid touched me so deeply and this great, sweet, humble salt-of-the-earth guy who comes from immigrant working family - like my own, and who has climbed to the TOP of the American dream, is the perfect collector / enthusiast and you feel like he’s your uncle. ♥️👍 What a special collection SECOND TO NONE. He’s the King Solomon of Baseball History memorabilia if you ask me.
Thank you for sharing this but I still wish it was longer! I wanted to hear Geoff gush some more about his favourite cards or pieces that stood out. Please find more collectors like this who TRULY TRULY LOVE the sport they collect - as opposed to crafty businessmen. 👏👏🏆💪🇺🇸♥️👍
Boomer alert !
Not just your best video, but one of the top sports card and memorabilia videos ever made by anyone. Thanks Marshall and Geoff for sharing. So inspirational.
Thank you for the extended version. His entire collection should be on display and some day possibly in a museum for historical purposes. It’s absolutely priceless and he spoke from the heart on his views of not just a numerical value as how the hobby is driven in todays world but the enjoyment of collecting in a different light. Great job!!
I'm almost positive he said that in the last video
Or maybe it was just about the gem mint 1952 mantle
Also, this guy is an absolute gem for the hobby.
Really ? I do know
dude is a clown
Sir, I work with Veterans, who battle PTSD. I’ve introduced them to the hobby, because hobbies are great for them. When we get together, we watch your videos, and are just awe struck. I try to get them cards, to collect, trade, etc….and am sometimes not able to….but, we have your videos! Thank you for all you do, Sir. Sincerely, LT Quinn Mallonee🇺🇸
"But I knew enough that I loved what I saw." That sums it up for me as a passionate collector
I can't get ENOUGH of this!! I LOVE Marshall!! I would be SO HONORED to just sit and pick his brain for an hour...even if I never got to see a single card or piece of memorabilia from his collection. I would cherish just the time I could spend with this man.
Even more than his collection, I loved Marshall Fogel the person in this video. Listening to him speak was both interesting and heartwarming. He seems like such a genuinely good person, and in a lot of ways reminds me of my own grandfather. I appreciate the chance to hear him talk about his life and his collection! I hope to hear from him again in the future.
Marshall has so many stories and remembrances that needs to be told before anything should ever happen to him. Hours and hours of amazing history that needs to be shared... I'd love to be a fly on the wall for that. I'm in my 60's and feel that that is what I'm suppose to do for my grandkids. Help teach significant history that has happened in my lifetime. Thanks to all involved in this endeavor. 👍👏
Fogel is the GOAT! PSA did a story on him many years ago. Great to see new collectors discover Marshall Fogel
Absolute 5 star interview. What a SPECIAL collection. I wish the gentleman good health and happiness. We are only care takers of this history until the next person owns its
I rarely comment on videos, but this collection is beyond words!! Breathtaking in scope, quality and quantity!
And, I love this man's love of the game!
Awesome. Thanks!
If collecting wasn’t so expensive more kids would do it & would have interest in the game itself! It’s now an investors game & not child friendly like when I grew up. It’s a darn shame
Simply amazing!!!!!!! We will never see a collection like this again. There are and will be will be many impressive collections. This one will be next to impossible to top! Thank you!
Even this mans chair is freaking awesome. His story is amazing and his collection is PRICELESS!!!
PLEASE do more of these with this man. The stories and history are what make collectables. We need more of this instead of only talking modern investment 1/1's. There no substance to that. This is GOLD.
He is exactly right. The point of doing this shouldn’t strictly be for business it would be for the love of the hobby. I absolutely loved watching this video and I’ve learned a lot. It’s just awesome looking at that stuff. I added to my bucket list that I want to meet him before he dies
Man Marshall is awesome! Amazing hearing this guy talk about his love of sports. Great interview.
This is hands down your coolest video so far. Lucky for you to get to see this amazing collection.
What a great ambassador of this Mantle card and its his card as he deserves it. Marshal is a great humble guy!
One of the most memorable quotes from this interview is "Don't live for the moment, live for the time". I think that's what is wrong with ultra modern card collecting. Collectors, dealers, flippers are going after all these cards from unproven athletes, and I just don't get it. I can't fathom how someone would pay for a (example) Justin Fields National Treasures RPA, when they could use that money to buy some of these timeless pieces. Thank you for this video, it's truly amazing!
This is just tremendous! The hobby is still about the association of the fan to the athlete and to the passion of the times. What a joy, thanks!
That is one hell of a king's chair Mr. Fogel is sitting in. A man of distinction and vast knowledge.
What an amazing collection! Shows what patience in the hobby can do
Just so darn awesome to see such awesome vintage content and such a historical collection. Stunning Thank you for posting the extended cut. Just such a rare glimpse into such a legendary collection
WOW! Amazing collection , interview , content , individual , and experience. Thank you Marshall Fogel for sharing this iconic memorabilia collections plus your wisdom and knowledge. Geoff Wilson what restraint and composer you held during the card spread across the table was incredible. Absolute Gem Mint Pristine 10 interview. Thank you for allowing all to enjoy your experience .
I’ve watched this twice and have some great advice notes from this!! Has to be your best interview yet! Thanks for doing and sharing his amazing collection and wisdom!!!
This is probably your best episode 👏. I could watch many more of these. I love the appreciation for the sport and the attention to detail. Just amazing. Thank you for giving us content like this.
im glad ya'll made a extended cut - i hope yall collab in the future where his whole entire collection is on display. its amazing.
Not going to happen. Insurance company wouldn’t allow them to do so
So glad you published the extended cut. Really great interview 👏
Just seeing this collections is priceless.
I'm so glad you put out the extended cut. The first video was such an amazing tease. Thank you for putting out the whole video.
Man. This is so awesome!!! These collectible artifacts remind me of my child hood and the joy I had in collecting my baseball memorabilia and cards. All I can say is fantastic and thank you for sharing this on video
Hell of a watch. As a strict baseball only collector this was a joy!
Enjoyed this interview so much! Mr. Fogel is a national f'n treasure. I appreciate his humility about the whole thing, but he knows damn well how much this collection is worth. Awesome interview! It's amazing that he (Fogel) clearly still loves collecting as much today as ever.
What an absolute legend! He’s got my collecting juices flowing🥊
I just finished watching this a second time! I felt like I was listening to my grandfather tell me his war stories, which I absolutely used to love. Please give this guy more facetime!
A masterclass!! What a wonderful conversation! Thanks for sharing the extended cut. Look forward to hearing more from Marshall Fogel.
Wow, incredible does not due it service. Thank you both, and the crew, for taking your precious time to share a once in a lifetime collection. God Bless…
I've watched this multiple times. It's such an unbelievable video. It's like nothing else, I just love this guy and his wisdom. He's like a kid, he's so proud of his collection yet you can see he is humble how he points out consistently how he was simply lucky to buy it when it wasn't desired. Love it, love it, love it.
I am 61 years old and collected most of my life . If the industry as whole would listen to this man of wisdom , card collecting can be enjoyed as it should .
What a great interview. Amazing collection. Like a child in a candy store. His collection is definitely one of a kind and I love the story for each item. Thanks!!!🔥💪🙌
This is one of the best hobby videos I’ve ever seen !!!!! Thank You, Marshall and Geoff. It was very informative !!!!
This has to be absolutely one of the longest interviews I have ever watched and I watched it from beginning to end I wanna thank you cause it gave me it was great and it gave me a lot of insight and to now becoming a part of this hobby
Amazing video. Please meet with Marshall again for some more of this content. Really one of the most enjoyable conversations I’ve ever watched
What an incredible collection. Thank you for doing this interview with Marshall and I hope you can revisit his collection again. Hope it ends up in a museum one day.
I loved every minute of it . Thanks for sharing this interview.
His chair is dope. This was epic thank you for sharing the uncut version. I've been a bit negative about the hobby lately but this has rejuvenated my spirit.
I could listen to this man and his stories and lose hours. Absolutely lost in the moment. Thank you for this. Still can not believe you wore Kofax glove!
He's setting off my OCD by tossing those slabs around without being bagged.... lol
Anyone who puts their slabs in protectors should not be in the hobby. This old guy is doing it right 100%.
Geoff and SCI team, thank you for this video. Best one you've posted and one that will go down in history 🙏.
What an excellent interview on both sides. Very knowledgeable and insightful. The perfect combination between memorabilia and character development. So much wisdom here.
That chair needs to go to the hall of fame
What condition my condition was in. Truly a simple way of life has been pushed into the background of America and this gentleman should be listened to by as many young folk as possible. We don't need all the crap we are put thru today, just get back to basics and treat each other with dignity and things can improve.
Thank you for this! I’m just getting back to the hobby and watching this made my heart so full! Thank you!
I did a plumbing job at a house once and the people that lived there were personal friends of Casey Stengel. Thier living room was a museum and I could have stayed there all evening.
I must say this episode/sit down with Marshall was without a doubt mind blowing.l am still in shock and awe thinking about the table covered with those slabs of history and l must say the look on your face with that pile of priceless pieces of history at your finger tips was a look of amazement and for you to be shook up says a lot.My mother at one time had the entire 52 Yankees when she was growing up but father time took them but who knew back then. Thanks for sharing the interview !!
Awesome vid! Crazy how nonchalant and proud he is of his collection. That twinkle in everyone’s eyes seeing something like this never gets old, including mine
I’m gonna end up watching this video 10 times or more. So awesome! You can see a different look in Jeff’s eyes in this one. Like being truly in aw.
This is such an awesome video. I watched it from beginning to end without ever losing interest. My favorite ❤️ Sports Card Investor video by far!
This was an amazing conversation.
Being up there in age myself, I absolutely loved watching this. Collect what you love. Out of everything of this wonderful collection I loved the photos! Always have admired great photography. Have a book by Ozzie Sweet of great photos that I have had the chance to meet some of the players in the book & had them sign. Along with the famous Topps book published I think in the late 80's or early 90's of all the Topps cards. Living in Florida got to go to several "Senior League" games, retired ball players & when showing them, the players this book, would invite me to sit on the bench while the game was going on & they would find their photo of their rookie card & sign it. Probably have around 50 autos in this book. Collect what you love. Meet Red Grange & had him sign a photo. I'm starting to document & attach with all the different items of where & when & a little story behind all my autos of meeting these greats.
beautiful
The cards, the memorabilia, the advice, the stories…….incredible!
Finally extended cut for such a legendary collector! 👏
Greatest collection I’ve ever watched in my life. Thank you y’all for sharing great stuff.
I hope his collection goes to the hall of fame, have his own room showing off this collection,u finally have a video worth watching! All Baseball! Lol
The Library of Congress also has a very nice collection of vintage baseball cards. I've been there and to the Baseball Hall of Fame and it is such a memorable experience for both.
He is a museum.
Baseball rules!!
All his videos are good
No way. It will go to auction!
I was 14 working at a card shop in 91 the owner had a 52 Mantle took me to the national that year got the upper deck promos Montana and Sanders love hearing his stories and seeing his collection Thanks for the video
Best collection video I've ever seen! Amazing content
Loved this episode and definitely looking forward to future episodes
Marshall should absolutely be on your guys show every so often just to celebrate and listen to this guy. He is a serious gem!!!!! Love this episode. I think you and Marshall are absolutely special to this amazing crazy hobby. Thank you for this episode!
Every baseball fan should watch this.. I have friends that don’t collect but would love to watch this. I’ll definitely be sharing with them. Thank you.
Without a doubt your best video and one of the most valuable videos made for the hobby.
Wonderful interview! The most interesting part to me was the bats. I learned a lot and enjoyed Marshall’s humility.
i've watched this three times. totally amazing content
History and stories
Very cool
The greatest slab collection in history.
Speechless
This is your best video of your career. Thank you for doing this!
Collect on
Thank you so much for the full video.
You absolutely NEED to do more videos with him. I can't believe I watched the whole thing. I didn't even realize it was an hour and a half. When it ended I was thinking it's over already???? More more more!
I just started watching! When I watched the first one I said to myself 14 minutes!? I want more.there's so much I wanna know!!! Thank you for putting the whole thing out there.
Absolutely beautiful cards and collection. I am not being negative or a jealous guy, but that 55 Mantle with the woodgrain, that is a PSA 10, It looks off ceter left to right, and you can see whitening on the edges, maybe they didn't grade as hard back then, or maybe it's just the camera of shadows, making it look that way. Either way this is incredible, I just wondered of anyone else noticed what I did.
I found it funny that Marshall's chair looks like it cost $50k but Geoff's chair looks like the one my grandma had around her dining room table
Shared this with my Dad - thanks - great interview
Loved this. Need more episodes of Marshall.
Incredible. Thank you for sharing your collection Marshall. Would love to see another episode with some of his other items.
Good job interviewing Geoff. Well handled. you asked open questions and let him talk.

Unbelievable. Just crazy! So Cool! Had to be fun kicking it with Marshal picking his brain. So Impressive. Marshal needs a youtube channel. So interesting. A true pioneer.
What a great bloke. Fantastic video SCI
The best video on this channel so far!!!
I love him. Best Video on the channel. I will never forget this man. He is what I strive to be. His personality is one of a kind.
Beautiful Collection!
This hit hard! My father passed away when I was 17. I would trade everything to have one more game of catch with him.
Baseball is passed down my Grandfather and Father would argue who was better DiMaggio or Mantle. They would go at it they watched both play my Grand father as a child and later with my Father with Mantle.
The great thing about baseball is old men and women reliving their childhood. The smell of the grass, the food, the drinks in the stands, hoping for a home run ball. The running around the neighborhood for money just to get into the cheap seats. Hearing those stories and seeing it through their eyes is the reason to love baseball.
Oh and I learned real quick do not bring up Jeter in a DiMaggio/Mantle discussion. That is a sure fire way to go pull weeds in a flower bed in Texas in July!
now this has to be the best video by far! GREAT JOB
