I am a psychologist in the U.K. and I found you when I became a mother for the first time, whilst I lost my own dear mother. I want to thank you for your work. Your kind heart and fearlessness in speaking the truth about what children need and actually what parents need, each other. You’re a treasure.

There is no way to thank you, you can not imagine how helpful this speech was, you can not imagine my gratitude, thank you a million times.
Thank you. I am sharing this with my community of preschool parents . I am of course being most benefitted by it. My daughter is 21 years old and going through a lot of upheavals, but with amazing resilience because she thrives in her emotional playground with her music and short film stories and dance. I felt amazed , validated and truly educated listening to you. I also have your book with Dr Gabor Mate Hold Onto Your Kids which got packed away because I was shifting home. But now we have both of you on CZcams. Sadly the preschool I ran shut down to make space for other projects in curriculum development. But I still study and share early childhood. I have an extended family of children aged from 4 to 15 with whom we all make stories, sing , study and contemplate online.
Our school district in Penticton BC sent parents this link. This is helping me and my family in ways I can't describe. Much of the content shown here can help everyone. Thank you Dr Neufeld!

Thank you so much for this- there's a part of me that wishes you didn't call it Parenting Through a Pandemic so that EVERYONE would be called to watch this to understand what's happening to us emotionally. Whether you're a parent or not the three keys to emotional well being when things cannot be changed are things we each can all strive to do as humans together in our communities, country and world. I will be sharing this everywhere.

This is incredibly invaluable to teachers who are heading back into classrooms to work with our vulnerable kids. There will need to be a greater understanding of our children as we sort out our new classrooms and hybrid way of learning. What incredible professional development for teachers (and parents, caregivers..)
Yes! And I wonder if Dr. Neufeld has a lecture specifically geared towards teachers. As much as I wish it were different, teachers can not give the children the necessary time, individual attention, unconditional acceptance and relationship (and opporunities for play and to be seen in their emotional playground) the way only parents can, or perhaps a good therapist can. I am trying to create a really actionable and realistic set of advice for a teachers at my school. What of this can teachers really actualize? (If I had to answer this question, I would advise: 1) Prioritize relationship with the students 2) Prioritze relaitonship between the students, 3) Prioritize place for play, between the students, as well as emotional expression through art, music, stories, drama 4) Give place for emotions to be shared in class, including sadness and disappointment,. Expressions of sadness and frustration should not suppressed as if it were a threat to the class. 5) Put less emphasis on achievements of goals, or be more flexible. Lett's prioritize giving the children a positive exprience of community and togetherness.) Still, I wonder if Dr. Neuman has a lecture for teachers during the pandemi. Thank you so much Dr Neufeld, I have taken courses with Nina in Toronto and it has changed my life immensely, this approach was my answer, becoming the answer to my chill. Right now this is so precious information, when we all feel lost and stressed, again thank you from the bottom of my heart to share this wonderful material with all of us. Btw, my son is one of those children who is happy being at home!

I must admit I hesitated to play the video, as I've listened a quite a few emminent psychologists and they are all saying the same thing (all good but repetitive). However, this is a unique insight into emotions that I have learned from. Thankyou. (I have a course from you somewhere that I started a few years ago but became too busy. I will look it out.)

Always a pleasure to hear Gordon Neufeld's Philosophy's, they line up with, most of mine . I believe your presentation, has merit for more individuals, than parents. Would you produce, this or another piece, from the lens of 'Family' or 'Relationships'. I have advertised/praised your work, through my weekly calendar with a link to this CZcams clip. I hope more people can be reached with your message. Wellness is so important, more so currently. Finding creative ways to support each other, helps us feel connected and 'we matter'.
We are social beings and still require that interaction:
My coworkers light up when we have a Zoom Meeting, seeing each other.
The one child that joins our Zoom Playgroup notices when an adult facilitator is absent.
My Grandchildren now 'snapchat' frequently, which is just pure 'fun'.
The Parents (my children) encourage more grandparent interaction. Could this be, I am the new technological obsession, virtual grandma 'child sitter/careprovider' that gives the parents a break? (little chuckle) I will wear that hat with pride, no problem (laughing).
