  • Tenth Annual Vancouver Neufeld Conference, April 2018
(Although this particular talk was addressed to future mothers, the material applies to all parents.)
How does one best prepare for our most important task - that of raising a child? What too often gets lost in the urgency of the moment, as well as in the flood of today’s details, is what the challenge is all about - transitioning the baby from the physical womb to the attachment womb where healthy development can continue to take place. Nothing could be more important to keep in mind. In this conference session, Dr. Neufeld will help parents-to-be prepare to become the ANSWER their baby will be looking for.

    Feel the emotions...
Don't try and cut them out for whatever reasons...
    Tantrum to cry...
    PLAY!!!
    Play grows connection...
Make the activity you want done FUN - make it a GAME!
Give time for it... allocate time for it.
Kids get consequences only at around 5yrs old when they display mixed emotions...

This is incredibly transformative information. Will watch this at least twice a month, God willing, until I have internalized it.

Thank-you Dr. Neufeld. All your material over the years of being a mother has greatly helped me and impacted me. You are a very wise man and I especially love the book "hold on to your kids" I have shared your material with so many other however it's a great battle to introduce all the material as everyone has their own belief sets wired inside them. You would have to bet you would have to be a caring, empathetic and even kind person to be open to this material. Not everyone has it "right" but knowledge is also an important factor. I feel I almost understand the topic you spoke about the child who does not want to learn. What about the previous generation? Haha sorry we look at the next generation but what about the current one. Just my thoughts. Thanka again for all your material and devotional hard work.

💕 I find the views here can be hard to hold for or triggering to many people in our current times so it takes either someone who is not triggered or someone who can navigate their own triggers or some level of both - I find both types of people fairly hard to find these days likely because of the reasons Dr Neufeld suggests…

Wrap your clothes around the baby (the smell stays with them) 25:24
Sing in the house so the baby can hear you close 25:40
    Utilise all senses.
Must have a sense of connection before going to sleep (they must sense that you’re the Alpha) 26:50
Create the village - make times for others to hold and care for and bond with the baby 27:28 (before 5 months of age the baby doesn’t have ‘stranger protest’ and can transfer attachment with others)
Shyness - shows that you have to create a bigger ‘village’ for their personality to show 30:10 (bring school teacher into the village)

I agree, however how can our kids keep healthy attachment , how can we keep our alpha , when even our babies( talking as a mother) even if we are breast feeding courts can still demand your child removed from mother if parents are separated so father can have parenting time. How can this be legal?!!?!!?
    How can we possibly heal

What do you do when your child is way too friendly?
