I had a bit of mixed feeling about to start with, but now when I'm using it in a project built its actually very good 👍
Nice video. I have the 600mm and very happy with it. One thing that takes a little bit of concentration before you get used to it is with the marking holes. At .5mm diameter they are spaced 2 mm from the next one hence a row of holes for the odd and one for the even numbers. This had me double take a couple of times in the beginning. As for the inacuracy of the .5mm holes it is easily avoided if one lets the pencil center itself by holding it losely while sliding the ruler along so the ruler guides the pencil and not the opposite.

I really like the Veiko products and have the bench dog ratchet clamps, 300mm square and this product also. It is versatile in that you have the choice to fit the T or not and use it as a ruler. I was a bit puzzled by the pen insert too and was looking around the packaging for the rest of the pen. Keep up the good work Thomasz. Cheers 👍😎🇦🇺

Hi Tomasz, thanks for another informative video. You mentioned the Drillpro being a single piece but it is in two pieces the same as the Veiko. The Woodpeckers version is also in two parts. I have both the Veiko and Drillpro versions and I must say I prefer the Veiko version. Look forward to more of your videos.
There is a Drillpro that looks bit different and to what I seen on the photos it's in one piece. However I could be mistaking 🤔
@@CasualDIY Hi Tomasz, I think there are some saddle type squares by Drillpro - TS 3, 6, 8 which are imperial and also T50, 60, 100,160, 260 Which are metric but I don't think the metric ones are Drillpro. None of these are as long as your reviewed product though, and I think apart from the smallest they are two piece as well. Hope this helps.
I just had a look at the one I was thinking and scrolled through the photos and found that there are some screws from underneath. That's why initially thought its in one piece. I wonder If I can find one like that but in one piece.

Hi Tomasz, great videos and keep them coming as they're very informative. Here's another way of testing if the t-square is square. Cut a board 1-2 centimetres narrower than the square, pick the best edge and with an engineers square mark a line on the edge for the full width. Then using the t-square scribe a line from the line on the edge across one face of the board, turn the board over and again scribe a line from the line on the edge across the other face of the board. If the t-square is square then you should be able to scrive a line using the engineers square across the opposite edge between the two lines on each side of the board. What do you think?

Hi Tomasz, great video again. As others have said, it is a T Square and not really a rule so it should be used as just that. Also the benefit of having it in 2 pieces is that if it isn't square, it is easily adjusted to suit, where as a one piece unit if not square is hard, if not impossible, to adjust. I have the 400mm and 760mm versions and think they are great. The most accurate T squares I've ever owned.

Hello! Just received my 760mm version, but it is not a perfect 90. It does have some slack when putting the ruler in the black piece, but it seems that countersunken holes always position the square in the same position, so I can't seem to get the fine adjustment right. Did you have any problems with this?

Just got my Veiko 760mm T ruler delivered today after watching another review saying how precise it was and not to throw money away on top brands. However after fitting the end to the rule I held my Woodpecker square against it and boy is it out. Over 300mm it is out of square by 1mm ! And of course there is no way to calibrate this, so back it will go to Bangbad as an Imprecise T Ruler. I'm sure some will say this is just bad luck, but I've taken the road before with cheaper brands and should have learnt my lesson.
Unfortunately that's always a possibility with cheap brands, can't compare to woodpecker but that should be the case. You need a mortgage to get a square from woodpecker 😅

For fine work, using the holes in the ruler with a 1mm lead would give a 1mm wide line. For accuracy one would need to cut in the centre of the line each time. If this wasn’t done the worst case the error between two cuts could be 1mm which could compound over several cuts. For many projects it may not be an issue, but accuracy is the main selling feature of the the item which suggests it would be used for “fine” work. Your comment about using a 0.5mm lead in these holes and possibly getting a “wobbly” line is spot on. I would think the product could have 0.5mm holes which would reduce the errors. Is there an experiment you could do to assess the errors that could occur?
That's correct, I wonder how much of an impact it would have. I'll add it to my advanced series. Its actually an interesting topic. Thank you. It will be cool to see if it will affect anything in woodworking
Roger, wobbliness could be eliminated by the use of 0.9mm lead refill (1mm is rather unusual). Remember that automatic pencils have a sleeve which in this case, will fit snuggly into the hole.
I think your comment about it not being able to be used as a ruler is a bit unfair - It isn't designed to be used without the T piece, otherwise it would have have been called a ruler rather than T-square
True, but it's good to sometimes look outside the box. People find uses for tools that were not "design" to do.
However the true reason I did show that I my video was the fact I'm certain of few questions asking if you can just use it as a normal ruler 🤣
@@CasualDIY that is a good point - people are like that. I look forward to the drillpro version. - I went looking and could only find a drillpro one that looked like it was two parts and had screws.

8 weeks for a square ?
Thats the problem, however I think they got a warehouse in Czech, my precision square and the T-Ruler came after about 7 days. I had the option when buying to choose which warehouse to pick, CH or CZ or something like that. But it's not for all the items, I've ordered some t-tracks and they were shopping only from China, although I waited "only" 4 weeks.
The delivery time is CHOSEN BY YOU during checkout. SO if you want it quicker, choose a faster delivery method. Simple.
I actually didn't notice that option. What I have seen is that you can choose which warehouse they are shipping from. I know of three, one in Czech, one in US and China obviously.
Had the T bar not been put below the surface so you could use it as a ruler, then you'd be having to mention that it is hard to get square and moves. Very silly "observation", a ruler isn't it function, if anyone wants to try to use it at such, that's on them, and no place in a functional review.
True, the reason I have put that in my video was that I expected questions "can you use it as a normal ruler" that's all.

I think you miss the point of these videos. I can't afford to buy everything I want to show on my channel. So collaboration with brands are the way to showcase some tools. It gives You as a viewer information about the product, what features it has and if its any good. Potentially saving Your money or making an educated purchase. And all that information is available to You absolutely for FREE. Whereas I have out put a lot of work in making videos for my channel projects, being a one man band. So you can watch all this content for Free. So sorry you feel that way however I see it differently.

No I should not, each video where I present a product that has been gifted to me has got a notification at the start of my video if you haven't noticed.
