    Nice job. I don’t know if anyone recommended it but try using a silicone mat instead of a stone. The stone holds heat and gets too hot.

    I was noticing that when you were putting your cups in shrink wrap you seams on your cups were not taple ALL THE WAY DOWN. Try that. you will get a virtually invisible seam.

    All you need to do for the shrink wrap not to stick to the bottom just cover it with wax paper and heat tape. That’s what I do, best luck and for the oven just get some silicone mats.....

    Yes, you need heat tape anytime you are dealing with heat...Regular tape will melt...Everything came out nice.

    I do like the video its a shame you took the cups down i like the coke one im lookin for a jack daniels whiskey one it would be cool for you to maybe start tumblers and then work around to a different product or a different size tumbler

    This is really helpful. Thank you for sharing. I'm on the lookout for bigger ovens now too because of your video. Unfortunately, I found out that most ovens here like that are 220v, meaning I have to have an electrician. The others are gas ovens, which would be harder to hookup. How did you setup your $20 oven? ☺️

    I just stumbled upon this sublimation technique while searching for patterned vinyl. I LOVE YOUR VIDEO! I agree with Michelle Hardy-Juster... it's your honesty that got my attention. 99.99% of the time I will fast forward videos that are this long, but I dint't this one. I wanted to hear all your findings/do's & dont's. Thank you! I MUST try this! *Did you ever try the 'pizza stone?' Did it work better? :)

    I'd consider putting the mugs on a silicone mat inside the oven. This would probably work better than a pizza stone. Also, the pizza stone won't be ruined 😀

    I guess you can put a pice a regular paper on the bottom of the tumbler befor you put the shrinkler paper maybe can help but other than that looks great

    I’m so happy you were able to use a real oven and not a toaster oven! I was afraid I was gonna have to go buy another piece of equipment lol

      You shouldn’t use your kitchen oven to subliminate in if you’re going to cook in it again. Once used for mugs and such the oven will be contaminated with sublimation inks which turn into a gas when heat is applied.

    Great video!! Love your enthusiasm and complete explanations. Just curious, I've never done this kind of Dye-Sub transfer. I've used dedicated Dye-Sub printers (ID cards and whatnot). Do the tumblers need any kind of clear coating after they are sublimated to protect the finish? If so, Poly, Epoxy, or something else? Thanks again, I'm subscribed now.

    I have tried twice, fail both times. I’m not using a glossy tumbler will that make a difference!?

      the tumblers are not really glossy they turn that way once they are printed. what problems are you having?

      @@Andrew-ol4hf correct, black can NOT be sublimated, only lighter colors can be sublimated and for sublimation to happen you need four things to be in place.
      1. sublimation printer
      2. sublimation inks
      3. sublimation paper
      4. the cup Must be sublimation ready
      you can do without the sublimation paper but it if you remove one of the other three sublimation will NOT happen.

    The print looks good.
    Where did you buy those sleeves?
    I think you use a Heat Press it would come out even better because you wouldn't have the melted plastic on the bottom.

    I would recommend a silicone mat so the plastic doe not touch the rack

      Silicon has a melting point of 400 to 800f degrees, it might make the process even worse, so what I did is just put a piece flat metal that I cut on the plasma.
