- After the success of their HDMI switcher, the GoStream Deck, manufacturer Osee are now offering it in a kit form. This encases the switcher into a solid plastic case with a decent-sized monitor in the lid, and a fan for cooling. It makes for a much more portable system for event streaming. They kindly loaned me a unit for test and review.
This video begins with an overview of the latest firmware options for the deck (NDI and latest general firmware) then goes on to examine the new Kit form of the device.

Just started laughing," the flashing light have no reflection to how long it takes" so true about everything! But I got the new YoloBox Ultra! and it pretty awesome! American computer plug! ... I love your review they make me smile! Good Job!
Price is $899.00 on the Amazon USA listing. Interesting as a portable solution, thanks for the video!
I saw that price and for $600 more than the Stream Deck alone, not sure the case is worth that much more. I can get a foam filled hard case for $100 or less and carry everything I need with a little longer setup.
Can’t get mine to stream to save my life. Someone suggested changing the output from 1080,60 to 1080, 30 Now I can’t get it to work with any of my monitors so I can’t see anything and I can’t figure out how to factory reset the device From the device itself this has been the most frustrating two weeks of my life with any piece of technology I’ve ever purchased in history. I have to wait a full day to get vague answers from Osee support that I must decipher now I’m stuck with a $300 paperweight and I’m no closer to streaming without a computer then I was two weeks ago. Brilliant
In the computer world, we call that D shaped power plug an IEC320 C13 (plug side) to IEC320 C14 (receptacle side). Most servers, PCs, stereo equipment, etc. in the US used to come with one. Just threw out a bucket of them last week.
It just rolls off the tongue!
Was pretty surprised to find a tech reviewer perplexed by an IEC. Vast majority of broadcast kit still uses these, can never have enough. Not to mention they're still standard on most PC PSUs
I wonder if you could hook up a neck strap (perhaps with a small tummy table) utilizing the cheeseboards on the sides to do a walking stream? Though that could definitely be hazardous on a nature trail, but in a location where you are stationary and no where to set the thing down could be useful.
Intriguing but like to lead to a fall, I suspect!!
Does the GoStream Deck allow you to choose sources to record to the SD card, or can you only record what's in program? If I were doing a stream of a sporting event, the playback function would make doing instant replays pretty flawless if I could pick and choose what sources to record. But if the device has that limitation, obviously you would need to find a way to source record and clip for replays in OBS.
Does the spec sheet mention the screen brightness, most of these cases come with a screen that's of zero use outdoors even in British weather ! I would be looking for 1000 nits minimum.
I truly expected the kit to cost a lot more. While $900 is above my budget, it does look like a good value.
Agreed. I recorded this a couple of weeks ago before the price was announced and I did worry it would be a lot more.
Very good video thank you. I have a question, wanted to purchase this product, however was struggling to find a UK suppplier and the one I found is out of stock.
So question is, do you or anyone have an idea of where to purchase for use in the UK? [BTW, I ddid check you link in bio for amazon store, but no luck]
The only UK supplier I know is ProAV.co.uk but they're not yet listing this version on their website just the switcher itself.
Ndi tools 5 & up includs NDI HX screen capture
On Mac?? Are you sure? Cos when I downloaded the Mac tools, it didn't 😞
Could you you see the preview of all the connected cameras on Vimix? or do you have to use their software?? also if you send stereo audio from the camera via hdmi, are you able to control 2 separate channels on the switcher? or would it work on Vmix, programing the audio buttons to control vmix?
I don't know anything about Vmix but you can send the preview (multiview) output over USB into a computer so Vmix could presumably see that. Audio is handled as a single channel.
@@TubeShooterMagThanks for the quick reply =)
I wish someone would make something like this but in more of a laptop style format.
The trouble is, you do need a decent-sized screen to see what you're doing properly.
A wild David appears wow it's been a while 😅
Videos here are always a bit ad hoc!! 🤣
I’m confused . Is there a uk seller for the kit with the screen and hard case ? I’d love to purchase this
ProAV are the UK dealer but they don't seem to list the kit version on their website yet
look for an IEC cable, not a kettle lead on the internet and youll get one
the links does not show the deck :(
The link will take you to the product on Amazon.com only if you're in the US or other American countries, as indicated in the description. It does not appear to be available on other Amazon outlets yet.
Any Cons/Bugs??
See my prior review and test of the device itself for my thoughts on that. I described a few issues with this case version in the video but overall it’s a good package, I think.
Nit-pick, though accurate. If they sent you something for free, they PAID you.
In the US, anyway, you are supposed to pay tax on it. As an example.
Yes, tax is the same here, if the product is given rather than a loan. However, I think it's fairly clear the distinction I'm making, since you obviously can't review the product without the product (!), that has to be provided. No cash fee was paid in return for making the video.
