Hello my friend, this is one of the most useful review i saw on this device. Thank you so much! I have just a question, since you probably got more confortable with this device, is it possible to store configurations on macro buttons? I mean not recording any pressing on buttons but storing configurations of pip, keys and so on and change with the simple press of a button. Example, default config on button 1, pip configurations when i want to use pip, with custom positions on button 2, chroma settings on button 2 and so on. Thank you again!
The buttons are purely macros, they store a sequence of keypresses. So if you want to store a specific configuration of PIP or whatever, you have to record the sequence of keypresses to make that PIP how you want it; they don’t simply record window layouts howsoever you have them defined at that moment (as seen on some other switchers). Whilst the macro approach is arguably more flexible since you can use the buttons to store almost any sequence, I find it less useful than dedicated ‘layout’ storage buttons because macros are too finicky for me.
I think it sounds better then the rode
What is the maximum size of SDXC card can the Osee Gostream Deck take?
Thanks for this excellent review, it helped me a lot. I have one problem, with the mic input options, mic has disappeared as an option, line and mic + power are still there though. How can this be fixed? It seems the mic option disappeared after i connected a mic to it, it was a takstar mic.
I can’t swear to it but I think mic+pwr won’t matter if you use a mic with inbuilt power so that is the sole mic level option.
@@TubeShooterMag Ok, mic+power is for a mic that has its own battery or power source , is that right? Thanks for all your help.
Strictly speaking it's for a mic that needs a small "plug in power" such as certain tiny lavalier mics or older small camera shotguns. But I don't believe (I think!!) that it would harm a mic that uses its own built-in supply to be plugged into the channel configured as "mic+pwr"
@@TubeShooterMag Thanks, I really appreciate your help.
Is there software control comparable to BlackMagic ATEM switchers? Does BitFocus Companion support this switcher?
Yes and yes
please help. the other mic of my m1 duo went missing. can I replace it with m1 solo's mic? or can it be synced with another m1 duo's mic?
I don't know, you'd have to ask Hollyland tech support.
I have this mic system and really do not like that there is no LED for the recording levels. I think I will be upgrading to the DJI microphone system to got with my DJI Action 4 🤑
Hello sir. I found some trouble on my osee, when my osee want to connect to monitor, the monitor can't display my osee. Do you know the solution. (i used monitor display from LG 22,5 inch)
The default setting for the Osee output is something like 30Hz I think (check in the manual) so the monitor has to be able to display the default refresh rate at a minimum (after which, once you can see the output, you can change it in the menus)
@@TubeShooterMag thx sir.
WOW You have a youtube empire of channels! Crusing the Cut to Tech Tips!
Haha yes!! 🤣
What type of SDI uses GoStream Duet? This is 3g-SDI Level A or Level B? SMPTE 424M, 372M or 392M?
does it support 4k via sdi?
Do they start recording automatically when they turn on?
They do not have an inbuilt recording capability.
I really enjoyed this, just having ordered my iPhone 15 Pro this morning,. 😳
🤣
Did anyone happen to find a way to change the Date & Time of the recorded files on the GoStream Duet? My switcher thinks it's October 2024 already when it's only July 1.
You can set the date and time in the menus.
@@TubeShooterMag There is no menu option for that. I hunted for it both through the Duet's built-in menu and the GoStream app connected by USB. I asked about it in the GoStream facebook group and was told changing the time/date may be added in a future firmware update.
Oh! My mistake, apologies, I could have sworn I had done that.
I am very new to video production. Currently I set up large boxing/UFC events with a lot of moving heads. The last event we got a few projectors and used the computer hdmi out and fed the projectors. It worked great. The question I have is can I use the output from this video switcher to a HDMI splitter and feed multiple projectors ? Or is something else needed? If so how or what is needed...Thanks
Yes it's a standard HDMI video out that you can feed to anything.
I wish blackmagic had an HDMI and SDI Atem mini switcher in the same box! Even if it was just a 4/4 config.
Thanks for the review! As I understand it, this is just a multiplexer without the possibility of color correction for each channel?
There is no colour correction on the channels, you are correct. It "just" switches the inputs and offers an encoding & streaming facility. See my prior video for the full functionality.
Wow this is good for the acoustic guitar tutorial.
Record out? Does it record to SD card?
I'm not seeing audio levels? I have a source plugged into mic 1 but not seeing levels.
Have you turned that audio channel on, using the buttons or the Settings / Menu control knob? It will be off by default.
Just ordered mine.
Can be mix sdi and hdmi inputs silultaneosly so 3 sdi + 1 hdmi or 2sdi 2 hdmi ect ?
Yes, you can select which combination you want
Thank you for your review. Have you tried to use a Stream Deck to perform the macro for using both the HDMI and SDI inputs?
No, I don't own a StreamDeck
Very good summary 🙂 Wish I'd heard about this one before I bought an Atem Mini Pro... looks like I'll have to get one of these now!
Thanks from Chicago
Thanks for a full and accessible showing. Appreciated the way you frame things. [pun, Boom Boom]
Cheers!
Can you select which source you want for HDMI output #2 or is it always Multi-view?
As of the latest firmware revision, I believe you can now change HDMI2
The review I have been looking for
Thank you

How do connect HDMI
This could be one of the strangest video I've seen. You seem to highlight problems that you clearly found solutions to. Yes the phone on its own is limiting for any serious videographer so a rigging is necessary, but this rig is still very small considering what you get in terms of results. So I just don't get where the real problem is. And if the issue is how to rig your setup more effectively, then the cage manufacturers are the ons to build a cage that would accommodate a small hub, ssd, and power bank. Not a big problem at all. iPhone is still a pocketable powerhouse of a gear to take around. all the other accessories can be packed in a separate little carry on. This video was needless.
This is one of the strangest comments I've ever read. I clearly explain what the issues are in the video; how clumsy even a small rig is and how the components don't necessarily work well together. And yes of course the cage manufacturers need to build a better iphone rig. Or anyone else who can integrate the items better, quite frankly. This comment was needless.
have batery ?
What a treat your channel is - thanks ever so much for your work, it makes my day!
Glad you enjoy it!
It's not exist even on Osee's website.
Available from Amazon.com via my link. It's only just been launched in the last day or so.
Do you know how much it would cost?
Not yet...
This is huge man!!! Awesome video!
So now we're already expecting yet another version where there's also an SDI out? ;)
I really enjoyed your content, and it was really useful. I was about to buy this, but after going through your explanation and the demonstration, I thought to rethink buying it instead of the Atem Mini Pro. Because I'm more concerned about my streaming quality, which is already at 51000 bitrate on CZcams. and I also thought multi-RTMP would be more advanced in quality.
Ah - very important: see my video after this one in which I explained it was a misunderstanding between me and Osee (they were quoting megabyes per sec and I thought they were giving megabits).
No audio.
On what? This video certainly has audio.
@@TubeShooterMag Sound is back. It was only this channel, all others, including 'c the cut* had sound...... funny 🤔

That's annoying, I literally just imported the HDMI version from the US into the UK. The fanned SDI option would have been very useful, but I'm not going to buy another. Either way it's a fantastic piece of kit for the money.
I'm curious, why did you import it? You can get it in the UK from my link and it's not even from Amazon...
@@TubeShooterMag Hello, is it possible to get it from your link to EU, too? (I am now eagerly waiting for the case version of this. if they add ISO recording, I would sell all my three other ATEMs :)
Not sure about the EU, sorry. It links to a UK dealer for UK clicks and local Amazon stores for anywhere else.
Update the firmware. Today 2.1.0 finally came out with all bugs fixed. 20240430 variant.
@@draxxicekno ISO recording with this hardware.
And next they are coming out with the case version of this and we get the 4th review! LOL David never use logic to explain what a tech company does! I got one for a friend but thanks for the point out the Macro switch workaround. The Companion software is a big deal.
Yes, the Companion software will be very useful to many (and as of today I see the latest firmware - which activates Companion - is now out of Beta and fully released!)
The unit needs to be operated in spec without the fan on. What happens when the fan invariably fails? E-waste, or will it work OK like the original version? Considering the original must/should have passed QC without active cooling, I can't imagine the SDI addition has pushed the heat past something acceptable?
Not e-waste as you can just add a cooling mat or fan underneath as people had been doing with the original unit.
A bog-standard cooler, easily replaceable.
THANKS
The real killer to both ATEM and GoStream is anything from YoloLiv - lots of options, screen, multi-target stream, mobile network bonding, etc., and you don't need you computer at hand. The advantage of ATEM lies especially in ISO version, if you need to re-edit the stream for later publishing.
It's certainly arguable but the Yolo boxes have drawbacks: they are very expensive, have fewer inputs, don't have the tactility of physical buttons which a lot of folk, including me, prefer, and I have seen several user reports of glitches and bugs. Great in principle though.
Hey all! I recently got the deck and after successfully connecting my sony fx3 to the osee deck via an HDMI cable the first time around, now it doesn't register on the switcher. Wondering if anyone else has had this issue, and if so, what's the solve was?
Check the cable, in case something’s broken inside it. Check the camera is set to 1080p output not 4K.
