Yes ooo..pap don fall my hands big time.it was actually last week I got wedded last year..so was in d village this April to see my father in-law and mother in-law and also to celebrate the Easter with them...hmmm...my sister my husband has been the one doing it for my father in-law cause that's (my father in-laws) breakfast every morning.lo and behold I had issues with my husband that morning and he left it for me to disgrace my village people.. actually I can cook any kind of food cause cooking is my hobby as a matter of fact back in d school and even now I'm running a fast food business own by me...but please don't call me to make pap is not part of my calling in this earth.....back to my gist,I made d pap and it was watery and I started crying..i cleaned my tears and took the pap to dinning for him, he was very angry with me why it took me almost an hour for d pap to set ,I no even talk to him for my mind I was saying when you open am na there u go no cause no be even this one u dy talk here...I quickly ran to my room when I heard him say it has finished he can't take this pap ..oh my God 🤣🤣🤣🤣I was crying n laughing. d pap was poured away ..ever since I decided to force myself to learn...no be small matter oh..but make I stop here

You have saved me o!!! 😭 I used to cook pap over the stove for my toddler cause I heard it was healthier and that's the only method I know. But today I didn't just have strength to stand over the stove and be stirring up and down so I watched this video and gave number 1 a try. I am so happy!!! It's quick and less stressful. Pap has fall my hand many times before ooo!!! I always use the first method of hot water over the pap but when pouring hot water over it, I don't mix...I just keep firing prayers in my mind for it to thicken and not turn watery. I never knew I could actually mix while pouring....I've learned that one today.
I can't wait to try the zobo/sorrel flavored pap....I know I would love it....and of course I have to add only sugar to it😆.
I used to do the stove one for my babies too but I used to make it the way you mentioned....that is, pouring hot water over pap first then cooking it on fire. I never knew I could skip step one and cook it directly. Thanks for enlightening us.

terrible at making pap . but now i have to learn cause of my four months old. i did the cooking method but it still had small lumps. guess because i was adding ordinary water to make it very light for them . will make it again in the evening and add only hot water to it...

I tried the first one and it came out perfectly. At first when I was adding the hot water it wasn't forming but I just kept adding the hot water with fate, then it started becoming thick I was so happy
The last time I tried this, mine didn't form, but I drank it like I was drinking tea😂

Omo ,I just finished making pap after I decided I won't go near it again.but today I craved for it,lo and behold with all hopes and confidence I kept my bread waiting and still had watery results after 3 tries today plus the thousands of previous 'making pap failure' results I experienced.i got angry 😡😡😡 and eat my bread on a low key. I ran to joyful cook to remind my self of the steps but still the methods I know.na wah ooo.who go solve this matter?

Maybe because it’s always in the refrigerator. Or my water over boils I just can’t pin point
No I just got this one I used directly out of the fridge, how exactly does it come out? Does it have lumps or does it come out watery? Can’t say if the overboiled water can cause whatever it is that happens to your pap but if you think so, try making it again ones the water boils following the directions I have in the first method. If it comes out the same old way then you may have to change your pap vendor.
I have the same problem. In my case I think my heater is not give better hot water. I did try it 5 times.

What would you call pap in English? What is that main ingredient? It looks like cornmeal porridge but cornmeal porridge is done with cornmeal flour
Exactly that it's pap in English. In our culture it's known as ogi or akamu. And yes it is made from fermented corn, not attractive looking but when you taste it you will licking your lips and asking for more.😊
