I've made these before using Gruyere cheese and it was delicious ! Sometimes I'll spread mustard on the pastry, then very thin slices of ham and add my Gruyere.
Sounds like a fantastic, and LEAN version !

Well there would be more if the speed and redundancy of steps would be addressed….i skip and never watch all the way..hence less viewing time…we just do not have the time in real life to watch painstakingly the slow process…nothing personal against the creator….

The pastry ham roll up would not do it for me. The ONLY reason for that is because among many other cuisinical peculiarities, I am a real texture person. Yes, indeed. I said cuisinical. The chunks of ham are too 'spatial' for my palate. I would modify the texture by putting those small diced chunks into the food processor for a round or two. It's the same reason I detest LARGE croutons...it doesn't leave room for the other elements in the salad to accompany. I do have a small mouth which certainly plays a role in what I enjoy. The salivation glands may purge at the sight of a mile high cheeseburger but if I have to eat it with a fork and knife to get it in my mouth, it is going to be a nontraditional and unpleasant experience in dining on a cheeseburger. On the other hand, some people LOVE the texture here. To that I say, "Bon Appetite" and enjoy!
