Can I add mayonnaise as an alternative instead of butter?
@@oluwatimilehinakinlade1782Nope. Definitely not
Honestly 😅😂
I followed your jollof rice video and was able to cook for over 40 people for the very first time. After 3 weeks, plus, i still get compliments. I really appreciate it. My husband can't stop talking about it either. Joyful cook. Wish i could send the video.

Can I add mayonnaise as an alternative instead of butter?
Man does Not live be bread alone here..czcams.com/video/UOvaicywN14/video.html
@@oluwatimilehinakinlade1782no. You can’t interchange butter with mayonnaise. You can use fat free butter or milk free butter if you’re allergic to dairy products
I would be an ingrate if i refuse to drop a comment. Hubby wasnt a fan of jollof rice untill i watched this video and follow it step by step.He said he love it so much that it taste like party jollof and its very delicious got me a gift. Thank you so much for putting out such wonderful post for free. God bless and perfect all that concerns you. I am mrs Adebisi watching from cairo
This is my first time here ,was referred to your page by my Nigerian friwnd, I am a South African married to a lovely Igbo man based in Canada. Im definitely trying this tonight
Roasting the vegetables makes such a significant difference. I've been loving my stews and jollof since I learnt of this hack.
So nice
Hi sis you roast the peppers for stew too? I didn't know about it
Roasting the peppers gives the rice a better smoky taste and love to soak my rice in hot water instead of boiling. The stew base is so rich and the rice looks so good.
Thank you so much for watching ❤️❤️
@@joyfulcookmama what if I don't have oven to roast the pepper and tomatoes?
Where can one buy the white pepper from, because have not seen it before in the local market
@@venza_89if you don’t have an oven, just steam the pepper mix in a pot with little oil (don’t add water)on fire for about 30 minutes before you blend it.
I found out I'm 28% Nigerian, but even before finding that out I had wanted to try this.
Am watching from Lagos Nigeria and am your regular subscriber
First time but I didn't have to wait for the end of the video to know that this jollof rice is ' jollofing' indeed.
Thumbs up!
Thank you very much for posting this on my birthday date 😂
Bcs am still in the village so today I said I will cook this jellof rice, I went to the market and was able to grab few items available bcs there's no bay leaf, no white pepper, no bell peppers and no paprika powder. I used firewood #localfire method to roast my own tomatoes, onion, garlic, fresh paprika, fresh peppers and believe you me it came out perfect like oven roast. I pound it in motta smooth and cooked my jellof rice and it's super delicious
I used carrots and cabbage and onion on my own. The rice was devoured by brother in-law, mother in-law and neighbors and we all enjoyed it
My happiness is that I achieved the roasting part with firewood and it came out so well with good aroma
How do I roast my vegetable without having oven
@@ajomaleoluwafunke7687 I do not have oven too and so I placed my vegetables on rack and place it on firewood but not with too much fire o to avoid burning. But you can use that local charcoal grill
Happy birthday 🎉
This lady will not make someone concentrate on his fasting and prayers. What kind of temptation is this oooo. Kudos Sis. You are kitchen queen.

Wonderful! Thank you for the feedback ❤
Looks amazing and I can’t wait to try the roasting method. This will be my 3rd time making jollof rice. Thank you for the video 💜
I'm from Bauchi Nigeria
After moving away from the city where African food was abundant and my coworkers would bring in this amazing dish often, I can now have my Jollof rice again! My goodness! The way you cook, nothing goes to waste and everything is reused and infused! No wonder it's tastes out of this world! Not only did you share the recipe, but you shared some cooking techniques that I will continue to use going forward to make sure my dishes have EXTRA flavor. Thank you!
You make cooking fun and interesting. Thank you so much Ma.
TIP!...to prevent bake on stains on the baking pan, I would lay aluminum foil down, spray a bit of oil on it. For the garlic, to prevent garlic skin from getting into the blender and have to pick them out, squeeze out the roasted garlic in a bowl and then add to the blender. Looks yummy! and will try this sometime, without the garlic though LOL! Thank you! for sharing this.
❤❤❤
This Recipe and Process na Fire 🔥🔥🔥
For the 1st time in my cooking life, I used one sachet that N30 Gino curry and thyme for 3 derica of rice, come and see compliments flying left and right 😂😂😂
Even me know sey I finish work, the taste 😋😋😋 the look 😘😘😘 rice wasn't soggy, it was shiny and very delicious.
All was achieved using your process.
Thank you very much @joyful cook, I am indeed joyful.
Here's a sisterly kiss 😚😚😚 from me to you.
MOST definitely have to Try this
Hello there, thank you for delicious recipe, I am a South African who loves all kinds of African foods
I'm from Gambia 🇬🇲 and your jollof looks delicious. The colour also caught my eyes. Tamarind and Hibiscus are the only missing pieces
Maybe could use in the next review
Why do you add tamarind, it's sour
Or what does it do?
It’s Nigerian jollof rice, we don’t do that.
Tamarind and hibiscus (zobo) are drinks.
You are the original owners of jollof which Nigerians unapologetically took from you 😂
I love the details in your video. I haven't combine goat meat and chicken together before. I will sure try it out. Thanks . Idara watching from Canada
Thank you, watching from Sierra Leone ❤
Whao I love this
Joyful, BAADDEST ! 🔥🔥💖 This is the exact way I cook mine, only difference is I do not add my veggies to the jollof. I make a separate vegetable mix or proper salad and serve on the side.
This looks very colourful, I'll definitely be trying out this method. Thanks for sharing. New subbie here.
Welcome ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks from a Irishman in America. Went to a Ghanaian restaurant in my home town and jollof has been a favorite ever since. Excited to learn the braised beef and how to make ghari as well. Thanks again for the recipe!
