Omg this video literally saved me from walking to work today all i had to do was use tweezers to twist the metal rectangle inside the valve and all air stopped leaking out immediately after it turned thanks so much big help

I bought one like this. Bike shop installed it for me but it looked used. Now I understand why the person who bought it returned it to the bike shop.. and the bike shop didnt even know this!! I tightened it like you said and it is completely fine! Thank you!

I spent the whole day trying to fix the valve. Finally, I brought it to the bike shop and they replaced the tube for 18 dollars.
They will probably fix the leak and sell the tube again. Lol
A tube replacement is 48$ minimum in my area

Title says “how to fix…” but doesn’t explain or show how to fix it, just what the problem is. How do you actually get into the valve to tighten that flat piece?
Tighten it Clockwise with tweezers.

Fyi the valve has a stem, and the inner part is the valve core, the pin is called the needle but I understood what you were saying

My Schrader valve leak is at the base of the valve. Any tips in this case?
You got a rip in the rubber there. Time to throw in a new tube.

Usually if the valve stays bent for longer periods of time, it will crack at the base causing it too leak.

Will do the video part too , but tbh it should be very smooth turning it clockwise. If not, than you may need a new tube.

Rust prevention on fastener/ screws

I usually put a drop of oil inside to prevent rust.
mines leeks when tyres half full then leeks when unscrewing the pump off.
Something is going on with that valve.
