Helicopters collide mid-air in Malaysia during rehearsal for Navy parade

- Two Malaysian navy helicopters have collided in mid-air during rehearsals for a military parade near the capital Kuala Lumpur. Stunned onlookers captured the moment an AW139 maritime operations helicopter struck a navy Fennec in the skies above Lumut Naval Base and plunged to the ground. All crew members on the two helicopters - seven on board the AW139 and three on the Fennec - were tragically killed. The AW139 hit a sports complex on the naval base and the Fennec crashed into a swimming pool. There were no immediate reports of anyone on the ground being injured. The helicopters crashed during training for a flyover for Malaysia's 90th Naval Day celebrations, due to be held on Saturday. #helicoptercrash #malaysia #navy

Other countries only use regular military pilots for regular training formation display only. Using regular military pilots to perform air show maneuvers have proven fatal in the past instead of using only highly trained elite air show teams for non-routine flying formations.
Along the same line of thinking, some of my mates joined our Corps Motor Cycle Display Team who could ride Motor Bikes. They didn't even get their hands on one for the first few weeks as they were practising on push bikes to hone their co-ordination and skills first (ok, and learning to ride it backwards sat on the handles, etc 😁). It's a different kind of skill to just riding a motor cycle.
