When you're chillin' with the brethren at Ye Olde Tavern and someone laces your mead with acid 👍🏼
ah yes --off to the White Room detox
Ha ha , nice
Most amusing actually. THX
Sean Kratovil this sounds wonderful and your comment is hilarious 😂🤣😂👍👍👍👍
Sean - thanks for that. It made me laugh.
Awesome! There should be a special place in heaven for people who can play Cream on a lute. Bravo!
Thanks Paul -- I wasn't sure if White Room worked so your comment is especially welcome.
@@danbluedeer Be assured - it works, I was spellbound.
Yup, super, and a surprising choice...Beautiful, makes you realize what a great tune it is!
There is! 😍
And so it shall be
Too bad Jack Bruce couldn’t have heard this, I think he would have loved it.
Thanks! Jack was great
Maybe Eric has... 🤔
Heard this live at Woodstocke back in 1569, God what a time to be alive.
Wow, that's a great memory...it was quite a time
You have elevated this song "from an era" to "Timeless"!
Thank You!
I didn't think it could be done.
Then I thought,"Ok.let's see how it starts"
Four minutes later I'm glad I stayed and listened.
Thanks!
@@danbluedeer I am just in awe of people who have musical talent.
And especially those that think outside the box and make it happen.
Seriously.
Who looks at a baroque lute and thinks,"White Room" would sound great on this?
Only a mad creative genius. That's who.
This god's holy proof that great music transcends genre and instrument style. This was astounding and quite amazing.
Glad you like it!
Show me a good psychedelic rock cover on a bagpipe haha.
@@HazzerFloppa well ,hmm, not so sure about that
I agree; I think Daft Punk's "Around the World" is one of the worst songs ever but I like it in a medieval version: czcams.com/video/woVgbVM2k0k/video.html
Well, I certainly didn't start my day expecting to hear anything like this! It's astounding that anyone in the world would conceive of the notion to arrange White Room for an ancient lute, and then be able to achieve such sublime finish. Bravo!
Thank You! ...nice to hear
lovely sir! this has inspired me to learn more 60's psychedelic music on my oud and sitar. thanks again.
Rock on! love those instruments
omg please post when you do!!!
Really, really nice! It sounds like it was written for the lute, when you play it! 👍🎸🤘
Thanks Gilford! That's nice to hear... Daniel
@@danbluedeer Thats amazing. Such an amazing cover. Love to more like this!!!
Cream is a band that my dad and I always bonded over. Thanks for this beautiful rendition, dude.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Just when I thought he couldn't blow my mind any further, White Room on a lute! Could some Jethro Tull or Traffic be in the works?
Thank You!
If that could happen l think l would give up on music then because nothing could ever be better.
Hmm, Early or later Tull? I'm thinking Dun Ringill or One Brown Mouse.
I wish you would do the entire Cream albums on your lute. Simply stunning 👍
Maybe one day!
Once again, another impressive cover. I would love it if you did Babe I'm Gonna Leave You by Led Zeppelin
Thanks! / daniel
@@danbluedeer this would be amazing as well
Yes! That would be incredible
All of Jack Bruce's vocal melodies for this song, were interwoven into this performance, excellent work.
Thanks Gabriel!
Dan! You're killin' me. Great stuff.
Your playing is the best antidote the the virus, yet.
Oh no! not killing you softly thanks Michael!
I don't even know what to say. A master showing his craft
A privilege to hear
Thanks Michael!
I'm a bit late to the party here, but...amazing and inspiring! Extremely well done; beautiful arrangement.
Thank you very much!
Personally I would disagree and say you found 'Young Daniel' so you are not late, but were merely unavoidably delayed lolz.
I always loved this song!
It's a great tune!
Wonderful performance! Real shows Jack Bruce's compositional skills.
Thanks! Jack was great
Fantastic, couldn't get any better. For all those that put a thumbs down, if you don't like it then don't listen to it, I myself loved this composition. I'm sure that there are things that you like and I may not. It doesn't mean that it's bad. Best wishes to everyone. 😁😁😁🍀👏👏👏👏👏👏🤔🤔🎸🎶🎸🎶
Sean --Well said! thanks
This is great. Now I'm thinking through what a full Elizabethan band version of this would sound like!
Thanks!
I feel super relaxed after that performance.... thank you!
Thanks! glad you like
Soulful music for troubling times
Thanks Michael!
Takes me back to an alternate universe of my high school days.....thank you for the ride! What a long, strange trip it's been.....
Glad you enjoyed it!
Just flashed back to seeing Cream live, Atlanta Municipal Auditorium. You do the era great justice.
wow, lucky you Ellen! a great memory
Lovely work. Thank you, Daniel Estrem!
John - Many thanks!
Thank you for sharing your talent with us excellent!! Bravo 👏!!!
Thank you! Cheers!
Have this suspicion that Jack would have loved this.
Thanks Chuck!
Definitely, he went to the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama!
Signature, necessity, evocative. You nailed it.
thank you!
@@danbluedeer Thank you! My opinion on Cream: no soul. Just ego.
Another inspired and insightful cover, superbly reimagined on the lute. Thanks so much Daniel.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I regret that I have but one Upvote to give this video.
thanks Ross!
Didnt know what to expect here, but what a pleasant and unexpected morsel you have left for us, good sir.
Thank You Dana!
An always fresh and original interpretation. Thank you for sharing it.
Byron -Thanks for listening!
Beautiful, Daniel. Thank you.
Thanks for listening
WOW! I WASN'T EXPECTING THIS. BRAVO!
thanks!
This is why I practice each and every day...making the fingers on the right hand bend to my desire
me too, they don't always cooperate
Thanks Dan.. the resonance on that lute is amazing!.. thanks for composing this Cream classic.
Thanks Matt! I got lucky with that lute --there was only one to choose from / daniel
This is one of the coolest covers I have ever heard. You sir, are one hip dude.
Thanks for listening
Super. Watching your expression whilst you were playing it seemed that you were really into this piece. I think you might be a bit of a Clapton fan, especially with the smile at the end of the piece. Hats off to you sir!
Thanks! gotta remember this is mainly a Jack Bruce song although Clapton's doing his part quite well.
Wonderful as always Daniel. I'm old enough to have spent my teenage years listening to Cream. Combined with my being a lutenist and general Renaissance and Baroque nerd, and you have me hooked. Thank you so much.
Thanks Noe! that's really great to hear
This was so nice to listen to while sitting among the pines in Northern Arizona, it just fit so well with the backdrop. Thanks for putting this up!
Thanks Sean!
It goes to show you great music really is timeless.
Thanks! I think so too
Thou playest a pleasing tune.
Thanks Leif!
I am an organist, woodwind player, and vocalist and although I adore pipe organs, can truly say that there is nothing more beautiful and heavenly than the lute. I may have difficulty playing it with my tiny hands but want to purchase one very soon. Your playing is amazing and all your videos are excellent and incredibly enjoyable. The English language is limited in describing such heavenly lute playing.
Thanks for the comment, Tricia! my hands are relatively small too - that shouldn't stop you from playing lute.
An amazing song, add your wonderful musical sensibility/skill and the result is spellbinding! Incredible!
Thanks so much for the comment! glad you like
When I was a young man I played this song with my music band. I'm impressed by your cover. Greetings from Turkey Danbluedeer:)
Thank You Sezer!
BRILLIANTLY realized on lute! BRAVO, sir!
Thanks Henry!
Indeed very very interesting! The original is so groovy, and although your version rather puts forward the structural aspects of the melody (I don't know how to express this I a better way) and the groove is rather constrained, all this is still contained in there. Great and very interesting to listen to!
Thanks for your comment...i think I get what you're saying / daniel
Absolutely brilliant. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Probably is this the music, when you are welcomed in heaven. Not in a white room but in paradise!
one can only speculate.... thanks!
Well done sir!
It must have been such a marvellous time back in 68'
I mean they had all those musical masterpieces
Lohn - thanks! I don't think we realized the great explosion of creativity until many years later.
No music exists in a vacuum. It's all derived from some form of music in the past.
This is an excellent arrangement, and shows the beauty of the instrument, with remarkable playing.
I appreciate you sharing these tunes with us from time to time. Well done, indeed.
Well said! We all borrow from each other, especially in the arts. Those who create copyright laws don't seem to understand the creative process very well.
@@danbluedeer Perhaps not, but they do understand profit extremely well.
Nevertheless, artists of all ilks deserve not to have their works purloined by others without due payment and acknowledgement. The situation is now pretty complicated.
Fantastic, thanks very much, 🇬🇧🎶🎸🌞
David - glad you like it!
Eric mentioned that White Room was influenced by The Lovin' Spoonful, a band that started out as an "old-timey" folk-oriented band. Of course, folk music traces its roots to lute music and beyond. Dan does a fantastic job of bringing it full circle. You can really hear the baroque influences in the song.
Thanks Mike!
Fantastic. Just gave me the shivers listening to it. Nicely done!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Wow... Such a beautiful cover the colour of the instrument juxtaposed with the song itself and it's arpeggiated chords.. Magnificent
Lorraine - Thanks for listening
Wow what an amazing instrument - who knew anyone could do that with it. Thanks:)
Richard - Glad you liked it!
Fabulous interpretation of a wonderful song.
Thanks William!
.. Sublime ,..
thanks!
Very cool cover! Happy to see unique stuff like this on CZcams.
Gabriel - Glad you enjoy it!
Wish I could like it twice!
Thanks! glad you like
I love the music and the fact that you answer every comment. That's so nice. Love from Turkey.
Thanks for the comment!
Superb again Daniel. Many thanks for thiss. Great stuff. Please keep up the good work!
Nigel - Many thanks!
What could possibly possess anybody to down vote this? AMAZING, dude!
Thanks Jarrard!
Beautiful, thank you!
Glad you like it!
Cream played with classic phrasing and baroque tone. Like being in a time machine and going back hundreds of years. Very nice and inspiring to hear. A good choice of opus.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Daniel that sounded so beautiful thank you I'm just amazed
Thank You Mo!
FANTASTIC!!!
Glad you like it!
I truly hope that you're inspiring more people to play the lute, it has such a wonderful tone and, surprisingly, you've proved that it's timeless too.
Thanks Graham! - it would be nice for the luthiers if there was a surge in popularity like we've seen for the ukulele. Too bad there's such a huge cost difference.
@@danbluedeer I should imagine there's a scarcity of lute makers, rather a niche market I suppose.
What would be a ball-park figure for a decent lute these days, either new or used?
I've been listening to a whole array of your compositions, magical. I only hope that I may be able too experience your live shows one day, sorry as many shows as I can. Best wishes and hopes for the future. 😁😁😁🍀👋👋👋
Thanks Sean, but this is my niche right here on CZcams -- my concertizing days are behind me
thanks to Covid
That is a great sound for that song. Well done
Thanks Bill!
This is absoluty brilliant!
Thanks Laurent! glad you like
Made the 1960s sound like the 1460s!
AWESOME!!!
Thanks Adrian!
Very nice, thank you - now I'll go and listen to the rest of your things.

Thanks Becky! I always appreciate your comments. Daniel
So unique! Very entertaining!! Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it!
You never cease to amaze.
hey Chris --thanks! Dan
This is so confusing and pleasing at the same time! Bravo!
embrace the confusion! thanks Michael
@@danbluedeer May I ask if you are playing the piece with lute tuning or do you use guitar tuning on your lute, I can´t quite make it out just from looking. If it is standard ren lute tuning, did you convert the tablature yourself?
Totaly awesome version‼‼
many childhood memories of this song
Thanks!
This is an amazing cover of cream, I’ll be following all of your future recordings!
Thank You! I appreciate your comment / daniel
Great! I remember this when it came out. One of my favourites!
Classic -- we must be close to the same vintage
@@danbluedeer I'd say so. I was playing on stage in 1967 when I was 14.
It's amazing those can even be tuned with that headstock angle.
Hi Doug - actually the pegs are pretty accessible and I think it may be more difficult having a vertical peg-box
Talent. You are gifted.
Thanks Michael!
That was fantastic!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Wow, beautiful!
Thank you! Cheers!
I applaud you sir, your work is inspiring.
Mohammed ---So nice of you - thanks!

Thank You! glad you like daniel
Oh yeah ! Love it!
Thanks David! much appreciated...
Just awesome on the lute
thank You!
Saw the description and thought What! Watched it then Hey that was really good!
glad you like it!
Omg. I love covers because they often elevate a piece of the original work for new appreciation. Yes, the psychedelic nature of the song is toned down, but the melancholy can star in this version. Always love your work. Thank you!
Well said! I appreciate your comment
Absolutely beautiful! Masterfully played!!!
Glad you liked it!
What an original idea lol much appreciated!!!
Devin --thanks!
This arrangement is beautiful. Great idea, and really well played!
