Absolutely beautiful from start to finish! Makes me feel the urge to pick up my own renaissance lute and practise again.
You should! thanks Thomas
Gods alive, I'm binging your videos currently and I just gotta say that you're about the most talented musician I've listened to. Thank you for sharing your talent to the world.
Thanks Tom! love your movies
One of my all time favourite songs by Roberta Flack played like a real virtuoso and did the song real justice. Enjoyed it immensely Daniel!
Thanks Gary! I love the song too
You should check out Lori Lieberman's recording, too...
I could listen to this forever
thanks!
I did not really learn to enjoy this song until I heard the Lauryn Hill version, even though I heard it as a child. Now, hearing your beautiful rendition of it, I hear you and her voice singing the lyrics. lol. That would be a dream come true to hear that in reality.
Thank you- glad you like it
Nice. Very nice.
This song brings me back to Aspen, 1974,when I met the fiance of the women that I had previously fallen in love with; albeit unrequited.
Killing Me Softly - because he was such a nice guy! Reticently, I had good feelings for both of them. (We are both still friends).
Love the updating of your sauna later in 2020.
Thanks Michael! ah, unrequited love think we'll fire up the sauna tonight, another way-below zero eve

You, sir, are a true gangsta if I ever saw one. Greetings from Finland, peace.
thanks!
This tune sounds even better on a lute!
Thanks! that's nice to hear
How long does it take you to restring that? Beautiful work I love your house of the rising son cover. God Bless
Thanks! I change strings and frets as needed...not like a guitar where I'll do trebles, then basses (more often)
Can you do Friday I’m in love by the cure? Thanks for this music
Thanks! I don't know the song
Hey Doc, you’re beginning to be the new Bob Ross. 👍🏼👍🏼🙏🏼
I was thinking of getting a perm....maybe put some happy little trees behind me
danbluedeer - welll, the happy trees might be nice. The perm? Nah, pass on that doc, pass on that😂.
Hello Daniel. This is another great version of the same song you did on the 11 string guitar. I am curious as to if you use the same tuning and cords? Either way you played it excellently.
Yes, same tuning for 11 string guitar and 11course lute (lute is a half-step lower)
Lovely!! I love the sound of the lute. How hard would you say it is to transfer from playing guitar to lute?
technique is a bit different, but it's a nice lateral move
Do you have an album of these modern covers/lute arrangements? Didn't see anything on Spotify or elsewhere, but would like to purchase all the tracks.
Thanks! sorry-- no album of these - I'd like to avoid copyright issues, but lots of guitar, uke, mandola CDs on Amazon, iTunes, etc
Cooler than an airline bread roll ....
wow! thanks ....that is cooler than cool
They killed them softly with a lute, officer
talk about a blunt weapon....
Those bass note!!!,a killer sound, killing me softly for sure,,but I think I heard one only strumming, you should include some more strumming ,it sounded rare/ good.
Thanks Micheal .. I think I did a bit more on "House of the Rising Sun" and "Summer Breeze" and maybe a few others
@@danbluedeer I'll check it out.....
....yes ,there's strumming in those songs ,and appegio style chords ,is the lute ,amplified ?.
@@michealleeyoung4482 no amp --just one mic
I didn't know if anybody would catch it but the main place where I strummed was when the lyrics said, "strummin' my pain with his fingers"
This poor, beat-up world, and music scene, needs more good tunes played on a renaissance lute. Please play on, sir.
Thank You Chuck!
