Interesting, torque plates for honing... usually we use them for boring. Especially on something like a CR500. Those things when you torque them down go from round to 7-sided and ugly. Horrible for ring seal.
I understand you like to do as much as possible yourself, but now that you have JE pistons and Total Seal rings, you should consider to have your cylinders honed by a proffesional shop. The use a 4-stone honing machine, and not a 3-stone hobbytool like yours. Yours will make a barrelshaped bore (bigger in the middle) and it will also not be perfectly circular. Good enough for a 40 hp stock engine, but not for a high performance engine like the one you are trying to make. Also be serious about breaking in your new rings/bores, and get your ecu mapped before you go out and run your engine with boost on the street.
Thanks for the support man... yeah I do like doing as much as I can myself. Since these are new pistons and cylinders I really don't feel that there will be a huge effect using the torque plates, but come the next Rebuild I'll send them out. As far as the tune goes I'm definitely heading to the dyno as mentioned in the video.
Hey JW ! VW cyl. don't have much torque to em . The place that will distort is where they meet the case . But for peace of mind you are doing the best you can and I like it .

9:01 I use 567 loctite on all fuel stuff.
