Bleach Episode 127 - Urahara's Decision, Orihime's Thoughts
Summary -
Ichigo Kurosaki never asked for the ability to see ghosts -- he was born with the gift. When his family is attacked by a Hollow -- a malevolent lost soul -- Ichigo becomes a Soul Reaper, dedicating his life to protecting the innocent and helping the tortured spirits themselves find peace.
I really liked how Bleach made sure to surround Urahara's speech with a lot of implications of weirder things going on with Orihime's powers. The slipping into the barrier thing especially is one I really like.
It's always a good day when I see a Bleach upload, regardless of who's reacting, since we don't get much Bleach reactions, like AT ALL lol. That being said this channel is definitely up there in my top 3 reactors. Love the genuine reactions. Keep it up ✌️

i agree!! i wish more reactors would watch bleach. it’s long and a lil slow at first, but it’s such an amazing and iconic anime and definitely worth watching

what urahara said about inoue was true. if you don’t have any offensive attacks, the others will have to make up for that by constantly watching your back, which would be a burden. Unohana may be the captain of the healing squad, but she still has offensive attacks and can fight on her own (she scary😟), and the squad 4 members may not have great strength in fighting, but they still have some. A defense-only player is an easy target
When you started that sentence with Unahona, it sounded like you were going to use her as an example of a healer without offensive attacks who needs to stand back from combat...needless to say, I snapped to, "oh, wow, somebody is going to be surprised when the next arc is released...

It's funny when people say "just Orihime" given the extent to her power. It's actually very lucky that she is a pacifist, as she could literally just force reality to a state where you were never born, rejecting you from existence (ie. you just cease to exist). Also, her abilities to resurrect the dead and stop an attack from the literal god in its tracks aren't exactly things to overlook. Fortunately, her powers are tied to her emotions, and she can't really bring herself to kill people, no matter how evil.
And, yeah, it's probably good that Urahara doesn't activate his bankai against anybody in training. The potential for it just horribly killing you is just too high. Having him turn Chad inside out, or rip him apart at the atomic level, or do something similarly horrible to him with his bankai's unraveling ability, isn't exactly great training.

I see where Urahara is coming from. She can heal but with people like Ichigo she WILL definitely be a burden in midst of a full on war/battle. With how fast alot of these characters move, they can easily wisk her away and/or kill her.
See but I think where the problem lies is the fact that Chad fell under that very category by the time he asked Urahara to train him. Urahara accepted that request, yet he simply refuses to suggest any alternative that would help Orihime develop her powers so that she COULD be useful. He also makes a point to say that Unohana and her squad can replace Orihime. But like, am I supposed to believe that Chad can't also be replaced by any of the Gotei 13?

It's heavily implied that Urahara's actions were an attempt to protect Orihime due to what he saw about her powers, but instead ended up creating the opportunity for her to be taken. Her training under him would have protected her far more than her moving between the worlds to train.
@@kmgyening without putting too many spoilers on here, I disagree? There's a big difference between chad and orohime? Look what chad does in the coming episodes? From where im sitting that makes him easily as strong as a vice captain. Orohime would barely be worth the strength of a seated officer and only in defence and healing. Tsubaki has only been shown to be able to kill regular hollows. Besides if you've seen the anime past this point which im assuming you have you should know that kisuke had another reason for trying to keep her out of the fight? Before rukia ruined it.
@@jgphantom6 It's easy to argue from the perspective of knowing what happens in the future. In that case, I could just counter your point by pointing to Orihime's enhanced deflection ability in the [SPOILERS ONWARD]
Fullbring Arc (which she apparently gained through training). Nobody in-universe knows at this point how strong Chad will get, yet Urahara accepted Chad's request for training, AFTER he proved to be utterly useless against the Arrancar that just showed up. So the point there is, if Urahara is willing to have Chad train when he's relatively weak and wants to be useful again, why not do the same for Orihime, who also wants to be useful, instead of just outright denying her? Am I supposed to believe that he couldn't have facilitated the growth of her abilities to somewhere near the level is it during the Fullbring Arc?

In the manga, Orihime is part of the strike force against Yhwach. Both Yhwach and Ichigo at that point have incredibly high amounts of spiritual pressure, and Yhwach himself is incredibly powerful on his own. Yet, Orihime fights side by side with Ichigo.
Just because her powers are devoted to defense and healing does not make her only the level of a seated officer.
