Bleach Episode 207 - 12th Division's New Captain, Urahara Kisuke
Summary -
Ichigo Kurosaki never asked for the ability to see ghosts -- he was born with the gift. When his family is attacked by a Hollow -- a malevolent lost soul -- Ichigo becomes a Soul Reaper, dedicating his life to protecting the innocent and helping the tortured spirits themselves find peace.
Kubo always nails the backstories. I love this arc.

Got me imagining someone just cooped up in a office strung out on coffee trying to draw lines on a board while saying
“What the FUCK is he up too?!?!!’”
This is a great arc. Bleach always has really solid backstory arcs. This flashback really shows how Aizen and Kisuke are quite similar, but there are very distinct differences between them as well.
Kubo story tells in a very interesting way, that rewards you once the puzzle peices fit...all it takes is a scene or so to solidify or finish a character.
Aizen and Kisuke are like two sides of the same coin 😁

I loved this arc, just getting to know what the Soul Society was like back is interesting. I liked Shinji's interactions with Aizen.

I love this arc so much! It does so much for Aizen and Kisuke's backstory. It explains the Visoreds as well but this is really for Aizen and Kisuke.
Great reactions, Kisuke is one of my favorite character in Bleach, such a complex and interesting character. Glad this flashback centers him.
they are talking about Kenpachi kiganjo who was in the manga only (for a single panel) but Zaraki killed him and took is Title becoming the 11th holder of the title kinda

Remember, Yamamoto said Aizen's goal is to kill the Soul King: the King of Soul Society, Squad Zero is basically the guard of the King
And he is shock that the previous 12th captain get a promition to go there
Also, when Aizen quit Soul Society : he said : I'm gonna take this empty place at the top
He wants to make the key to go in the King's dimension to take his place basically all of that are coming together
Our kenpachi(zaraki) is the 11th generation one...10th one was killed by zaraki

It's funny how people treat Urahara like a goofball, until they actually see him fight and realize that he could kill them in some genuinely horrible ways, and there would be absolutely nothing they could do to stop him. Also, remember, at least Soifon (who saw the ceremony), Yamamoto and three of the other captains at the time have seen Urahara's bankai, and thus know what it can do.
That must have led to some interesting conversations between this flashback and the start of the series, as a Hogekyu-empowered Urahara in bankai is just about the scariest thing in the series. There has to have been at least one time where somebody asked whether Central 46 was completely insane given that their actions antagonized the most intelligent being in existence, in possession of a weapon that gives him nearly unlimited raw power, with a sword that can directly unravel and reshape reality to his whim, and what amounts to 5 captains backing him--that's basically the definition of a bad idea. I mean, Aizen's powers are scary, and his fused form is borderline invincible, but Urahara fused with the Hogeku would arguably be more dangerous than Yhwach.
