Summary -
Ichigo Kurosaki never asked for the ability to see ghosts -- he was born with the gift. When his family is attacked by a Hollow -- a malevolent lost soul -- Ichigo becomes a Soul Reaper, dedicating his life to protecting the innocent and helping the tortured spirits themselves find peace.

White philosophy of Instinct was one of my favorite dialogue and his last words before he disappear isimportant for later on
"The injury doesn't look as bad as the attack made it look" - it's because the anime is heavily censored. Ichigo got pretty roughed up. Like, Grimmjow's arm happened because it was a plot point. Other arms get chopped off/lost in the manga that are just shown as heavily injured in the anime.
It's generally a good idea to keep whatever Ichigo's inner hollow says in mind.
He has some good things to say.
And while Aizen COULD probably make his key with soul society, the real question is which is easier? A lightly defended human town with few actual means of striking back, or the entire combined forces of the afterlife?
Correction, Aizen did not choose Karakura town himself to be the spot to carry out his plan. As explained the requirements for the Royal key are the 100,000 souls and an Enriched Spirit Zone, this zone will change from place to place over time. It just so happens that in this time period it is in Karakura town, hence why Aizen is targeting it.
The hollow teach Ichigo how to become like him and become a being with pure instincts

The funny thing is that Aizen basically told them to their face that he was gonna go after the Soul King. So it's funny to see them act so surpised now after learning about the Oken.

I mean, those aren't actually very clear statements on their own, and without the additional context of having discovered his goal, it's not obvious that he was telling them that directly at the time that he said it. So I would think it's understandable for them to be surprised once they have that additional context.

I believe they added that because Ichigo went through a pretty cool phase in that filler arc where he couldn't control his bankai and went through some character growth fighting Kariya.
Jin Kariya was obviously filler, but If I remember correctly Byakuya being added to that scene was also filler. It was only Kenpachi in the manga, cause, y'know, the whole instinct thing.
Unfortunately the Arrancar Saga is filled with unnecessary filler INSIDE of canon episodes. It can be a drag sometimes.

@@tristandimitrijev3195 The parts about how Ichigo needs to treat a battle do kind of feel like a rehash, just repackaged in different ways. It's like, why does Ichigo have to keep being reminded that he's not doing it right, after he's apparently learned his lesson in prior incidents?
I especially love Kariyas speech. Even if he was filler, he deserves to be in this episode.

That kariya guy is from the previous filler arc. They tried it for a bit incorporating stuff from filler into canon which honestly I wouldn’t have minded if they did it better and if they didn’t take stuff from the worst filler arc of all time but they stop doing this after this point I think.
