Yes, all soul reapers go through what Ichigo is going through with their zanpaktou, but not all soul reapers have a hollow inside of them like Ichigo, so he's unique in that regard. But all soul reapers have an inner world that they must enter through meditation in order to communicate with their zanpaktou spirit and manifest it into the real world, which is what Bankai is.

@@thetruesquad5059 To clarify: Jinzen is the meditation that soul reapers do to communicate with their zanpaktou and all soul reapers do this, to various effect. When they do this, they enter their inner world and talk with, or battle against, their zanpaktou spirit. Bankai is when the soul reaper, after training and communicating with their zanpaktou spirit, is able to materialize the spirit fully in the real world, which is something not all soul reapers can do even after years of Jinzen.

The importance of that statement will not be fully understood until TYBW.

The Vaizards, the moment you learn about them in the manga and anime, the more they become intriguing and interresting ! For a while, you don't know were they stand in the grand battle that is about to come...are they with the Soul Society or neutral ? That reveal that they know about Aizen at that moment in the manga and the anime changed all the dynamic ! A pretty fun group !!
You guys are some of the few reaction that understand that it depends on how Ichigo feels that how strong he'll be. If he is feeling down it weaken him. If he's confident he's a lot more powerful like when he saved Rukai.

My favorite "Ban..... KAI" of the series, the unison double Ichigo. These scenes are always so tense, Ichigo getting all pissy and snappy at the Visoreds, who seem like they are plenty strong enough to utterly decimate him in his current state if they felt like it.

Not sure if this is spoilers but...
To clear up the transformations, Ichigo is the only one that gets an outfit change. His outfit is part of his Bankai, while Toshiro just uses his ice as wings/armor, its not part of the outfit. Also dont think of the Arrancar as being similar either, rather than an outfit change, its them taking on physical characteristics of their forms before they looked like humans. There is like 2 exceptions, but its never elaborated on. More of a stylistic choice

No, not all soul reapers go through this. Most soul reapers never fight their sword, as they don't even reach the point where they can train for bankai, never mind actually starting the fight to earn their bankai. Without spoilers, this is only a thing with characters who have an inner hollow, and he is basically going through the second iteration of developing a bankai (ie. last time, he fought the old man segment of his power to gain his bankai form, and this time, he needs to fight the hollow segment of his power to get his mask).
Also, yes, Urahara knew exactly what was happening with Ichigo when his powers were restored. He knows pretty much everything. Be sure not to skip the "Turn Back the Pendulum" mini-arc, which is technically filler, but is fully cannon and was just moved forward in the story (from the manga) because they needed more time in the manga printing vs the anime--this is where you will get the Vizards' backstory that explains how they came to be, and what their goals are.
PS. Let me put it this way--you don't want to fight his dad.

@@gdadder Not necessarily, Every animes has 3-4 versions of subtitles. It doesn't mean it's gonna be same as dub just bcz it had few of the same translation as dub. I don't remember all the other lines being same as dub.
Btw if y'all wondering why Mashiro (the green haired vaizard chick) keeps calling ichigo berry is because ichigo means Strawberry 🍓 in Japanese. Another way you can also interpret his name is 15..... Ichi(1) - Go(5).

@@Luan._.Mark1 It's not the same. Arrancar can't Bankai and a Visored can't Resurrecion. A true hybrid would be able to, like Tosen. Ichigo transcends even that hybrid because of his additional Quincy blood, to become the perfect hybrid.

Nothing Can Be Explained
Y’all should write down what hollow ichigo says to ichigo about zangetsu it’s going to make hella sense when you watch the new anime in October. Ichigo, hollow ichigo and zangetsu it is a lot more complex than y’all think so take notes when they talk it will come back around.
They already understand the dynamic. it doesn't get any more complicated or complex. It's just made clear for anyone who hadn't yet figured it out.

Bald (hage), Octopus (Tako), Dummy (baka), Idiot (Aho), are 4 of the very very few actual "insult words" (as oposed to just using rude speech) they do use in japanese (at least in anime)... I guess the bald and octopus have some really old history about the reasoning... Maybe about samurais having their topknots removed being a disgrace? (and octopus having the likeness of a bald head)

Couple of things, first love your reactions to the show, I feel like you guys are picking up on all of the great parts of Bleach. Second not sure if is clear but Tosen is that metaphor for "blind justice" in the show. I mean think about how a spirit could be blind in the first place. Lastly, Ichigo losing control to White during his battle with Byakua really shook him. That conversation Ichigo had with Shinji about control is a key part of this arc.

Renji's outfit does not actually change... but he does get his doffy "stole" on top of his regular outfit... that stole IS part of the zanpakuto
Toushiro's outfit does not change... he gets covered in ice...
Here is a thought that I've had about the series. When Ichigo had his Soul Reaper power restored with Urahara (Ura-hara), the spirit world in his mind was falling apart. Yet this time with the Vizords help, its not.... This "White" Ichigo keeps coming up throughout in the series and Zangetsu kept it on a leash "Mostly" until now. But was he on the leash? My theory is that Ichigo's Zanpakuto is a "Hollow" type or equivalent. Like Rukia's is a snow based and the Captain's is Ice based. Each Zanpakuto has a element or type. So is Ichigo really gonna "Suppress" his inner hollow? Or is he "rejecting" a part of his Zanpakuto?
Sadly no one has ever confirmed the theory and I haven't found anyone else mentioning it. (Unless I'm not looking in the right places)
You are right, Ichigo is a unique characteristic because he became a soul reaper and a hollow in the same process in the beginning. When the Visords were turned they were "Infected" by the holloficiation material that Eizen got his hands on from Urahara's possession.

I've never understood calling someone a baldy as an insult in anime and manga either. Whenever it's used as an insult it's in a situation where a younger person (like a kid or child) is arguing with an adult so I guess it's just an insult used to make fun of somebody's age. It could just be something that doesn't translate all that well from Japanese to English.
I believe it has to do with the deeper meaning behind words. When they call someone bald in japanese, they mean that person is bald not by choice. On the other hand you have someone who just shaves all their hair off, they can't be considered bald because they themselves intentionally did it.
