the actress who played Al wanted to add those swearing lines because she was very aware of how much of a polite and nice boy Al is, so the deliberate inversion of his character was done just for reactions like Carlie's.

Ed's voice actor Vic Mignogna said those were actually the first lines he heard of Al's since Maxey Whitehead took over from Aaron Dismuke whos voice had matured too much to play Al anymore (Think: Senku from Dr. Stone or Yasuchika "Chika" Haninozuka, Honey senpai's little brother from Ouran High School Host Club playing Al... nope).

The shakeweight one and the "Let's try and bring mom back" one are my favourite. And I just accepted Ho going "F*ck him up!" and Scar going "F*cking sweet" as canon at this point, because it just fit the scenes and characters at that point.
I watch a different reaction channel that just edited in Ho’s “FUCK HIM UP”, and I almost didn’t notice, it’s so natural

this is why I can't take some of the scenes seriously because I immediately think of the blooper versions 🤣 My favorites including:
-The shakeweight joke
- "F*** HIM UP!!"
- "I'm trying to save your life, a**hole!!"
- "Let's look at the door"
- "I think we should bring mom back."
The worst for me was Buccaneer's death, I can never take it seriously again😂
I haven't watched through FMAB in a while so while watching their reaction when the scene with Envy as a dog came up, my brain for like 2 whole seconds thought that the Scooby-Doo gag was cannon and not a blooper, because in my mind that's some shit Envy would easily do. So many of the gags are played so straight that they seem legit 😆
The FMAB Dub cast killed it the entire show!
Vic was an amazing Edward Elric. Loved Scar, Mustang, and Hawkeye's voices in the Dub

Gotta say my favorite parts are when Chris Sabat stumbles on his lines but just keeps running with it lol. That guy's a fucking legend.
He's a legendary POS along with a lot of the Funimation crew. Snakes and narcissistic liars and backstabbers. Defamed and slandered and bullied Vic Mignogna.
It honestly makes sense that he "totally never" has provided his voice to DBZA projects. He seems like just a chill guy who enjoys having a laugh and doesn't take it all that seriously.

@@Mrryn To be fair I met both of them last year and Sean proved that he can at least take a joke in a convention setting when I ended up involving him from the next booth over as I did my Vegeta impersonation for the man himself. I performed the "Meaningless" speech from the Buu saga and pointed right at his booth when I uttered the line "I have in me the blood of a Saiyan prince, he is nothing but a joke!" and Sean poked his head through the curtain just to respond in Goku's voice "Well that's not very nice!" lol

Plus there's an underlying theme of finding a purpose for oneself, which you might appreciate.
Little addition for Ange: If you decide to watch the dub (I usually advocate for sub in most series, but YYH, like FMA:B, is one where I think the dub did fairly well and is definitely acceptable and enjoyable) - the voice actors for some characters include Christopher Sabat, Chuck Huber, Linda Young, John Burgmeier, Cynthia Cranz and Justin Cook, all of which were part of DB and DBZ as well!
When Angelo said they were going to watch DBZ Abridged I lost my mind. Can't wait^^

honestly some of these feel more correct than the canon lines at this point and they sound weird lol. i think als swearing feels really fitting actually, it makes me think of a mini comic in the manga where al says "youre all a bunch of capitalist pigs!" and runs off lmao. that and how much of a BEAST he is when he fights, als that guy everyone underestimates because hes nice and polite, but can be just as much of a shit as ed when he wants to be
