- Last month, we made the trek to UCC with our own Morey Logue and his competition LLY. Let's just say it didn't exactly make the journey back in one piece... Today we're tearing down the engine and seeing what broke, and what happened on the dyno that caused the engine's catastrophic failure.

Since 2001, Dirty Hooker Diesel has pushed the limits of what's possible with a Duramax. We are the “Final Authority” for everything performance and replacement on your Duramax or Allison!
When 3000hp decides to go, she goes! Fresh Dmax coming up!
But was the amount of nitrous intentional or accidental from the situation?
It was a little bit of both
Wow that's some carnage
I don't understand how it can overspin since the computer can cut fuel to limit rpm?! Unless it was a runaway situation the ECU should have just hit the limiter and kept it spinning at a safe speed no? Like in my BMW e46 that has a LMM duramax when I do burnouts , it just hits the limiter and stays there around 4100rpm,
The first rubber to metal/aluminum slip is always the last under that much load what a shame
Block split close to exhaust ports, is that because the exh valves were closed?
Y'all's slackin! Need that 300psi map sensor
maximizer 5 controller cant scale that high. I had a 250 psi sensor in and had to swap it just before.
Time for a billet block it would appear
I was there to see it blow
Odd question but how loud do things get when they blow like this?? Like is it no different to the exhaust level or?
@@KL0WNK1NG it’s not that loud, at least from the stands it’s not. I have a vid from Greg A’s truck and it’s almost quieter of a pop than the actual Dyno pull
CenPeCo ftw
Cummins swap it!!!
ok
A little JB weld and it will be all good!
