  • So what happens if a single wire that carries the signal from the bed sensors to the controller gets wonky? well, first step is undo about 50 screws, lol

    Fair warning BL has hinted that they may block the way that devices like the Panda touch work in the future and eventually longer term make an API available. It's in the details on the Panda Touch product page but want to make sure folks read and make a decision before hitting the buy button, as its possible the device will stop working in the future.

    There should be more people who analise those two machines like you do. Remember the old Ender 3 printers, they got better only after the users started complaining about them. I hope to see more mods for these two printers.

    OK to fix a X1C you have to downgrade it to P1P first.

    I wonder why all these Core XY printer have so many screws. Maybe the manufacturers should take a cue from screwless computer cases.

    I've put some spiral PVC sleeving on my bed cable, so it doesn't mind occasional rub by the lead screw

    Many users had to replace the whole bed coz of sensor problem.
    I almost had to do the same, the connector was full of glue and removing all the glue from the connector solved my problem. I don't know why the use of so much glue. It is fair to say I no longer have it.

  • @tjmagneto

    I have an intense dislike for the glue used to hold connectors into place. A fan on my Neptune 4 Pro seized due to glue dripping onto it.

    I did a partial P1P to P1S upgrade and although it's not nice to work on the instructions are easy to follow and the parts are cheap and in stock.

    A little mount that pops out and drops down (like the 1990s carstereo head units) or rotates out (like the fancy cabinets mechanisms) might allow you to keep p1p where it is. If nothing around design something in fusion and do a crude tutorial (I have a need so I made it by fumbling through fusion style video)…

    Bambu's AMS is the only reason I'd consider them. Maybe if they ever release it to the Voron community like their CEO suggested they could

  • @memsu06

    After seeing how the Bambu is built I'm liking my QIDI X-Plus 3. Although I am considering a Bambu Lab now for the AMS system. I just want to load 4 rolls and have it keep printing the things I sell. My QIDI though has been awesome so far too and I think it has better printing specs than Bambu for more technical filaments that I want to use for some things.

  • @leesmithsworkshop

    Good video. I have both printers and luckily I have problems that require the dissemble you had. I have lost many screws in the back hole when taking the nozzle out for jams. I wish I had purchases two X1 Carbons instead of P1P., a lot of parts are different between the two, especially the hot end. I have to stock parts for both

  • @Higlac89
    @Higlac89 Před 3 měsíci +1

    My x1c has been having a very similar issue where it won't home. I can manually jog it up and crash the nozzle into the bed, but it refuses to home. Maybe this is the issue.

      @@Shadow_Steve Ender 3s aren't about wants or needs, they just are. You will just go about your day and suddenly a $99 Microcenter Ender 3 special will pop up on your desk. They are ubiquitous and it is impossible for anyone with any interest in 3D printers to not eventually end up with one. They've been modified with Core X-Y conversions, have broken Benchy speed records, been outfitted with thousand degree metal 3DP hotends. One day the world will end, and the only things that remain will be cockroaches and Ender 3s.

    • @CanuckCreator
      @CanuckCreator  Před 3 měsíci

      Yep, because because I was pointing out the bad design and that they are a pain to remove normally, instead of disconnecting them from the back of the machine before taking it off the shelf, i have to get my step ladder and climp up top my shelf and disconnect the AMS itself first, then pull the printer off the shelf.
      Just because its a situational thing, doesnt make it ok to design the plug backwards
