After reading The Color Purple I can see why there are multiple adaptations. Alice Walker says so much in a book less than 300 pages.

Is forgiveness when you really have no other option truly forgiveness? I really want to read this book and I keep waiting for "the right time", whatever that is. I should just get to it!

That's definitely a thought I had rolling around in my mind for some time, but I still haven't come to a solid conclusion. Spielberg's adaptation still gets me choked up.
