I'm so sorry this will be a long comment lol Episode 8 thoughts - Overall an amazing ep that went by fast! But I figured they wanted to have a few cliffs to lead us into S3 ❤️ - The beginning of the ep " She was dead.I was dead." 💔 Knowing that these vampires share such deep bonds and can even feel each other , I can't even imagine the immense void that Louis was feeling in that moment. The descent into madness was inevitable. Louis meowing at the cat woah. -Louis emotionally torturing Santiago/Francis before killing him was everything. The Theater got what they deserved. - The build up with Daniel having the real script with Armands notes was amazing. Sam the vampire being Talamasca reveal?? - I loved that Lestat saved Louis at the trial but I was a little surprised that Armand had no intention of saving Louis at all. He used Lestat to break up his former Coven and I guess I assumed he was using Louis to bring down the theater, but it almost seems like he was using the trial to gain control of the Coven again? And then he stayed with Louis for so long afterwards...This is giving me so much to think about for Armand as a character. ( Assad Zaman amazing acting tho! 🙌🏽) - Even to the bitter end, Armand was telling Louis " You forgave me for this." " it was Santiago." SIR 🤦🏽‍♀️ -Rashid lived! A person that truly puts himself first 😂 - Lestat going back to Magnus' tower to reflect on Claudia and Louis reinforcing " to kill your daughter" hurt me deeply bc it reminded me that she was really gone. Similarly to Louis, Lestat is also feeling the void of her absence on another level since he made her. And then Louis leaving with Armand afterward just gut wrenching. The hurt was too raw. - Louis being back in NOLA 😭 when he rolled down the window to breathe in the air, I felt like we were back there too. - The ghost tour and the "accuracy" of the Rue Royal house had me dead 💀 even Louis was chuckling. - The Loustat reunion was just beautiful in every way 💔 Louis starting so hesitant and Lestat being so guarded at first but Louis whole speech got me like " I wanted to hurt you bc I was suffering but its a gift, I want to thank you and live authentically." Like yess, this is Louis time to take responsibility and move forward. I was near tears thinking about how tormented Louis was as a human to now being more accepting of himself. - Lestat asking about 1973 and knowing the exact minute that Armand contacted him, asking if Louis hurt himself and Louis admitting yes he was lost and in a dark place. I cried. - It all comes back to Claudia 💔 the grief over having failed her so many times and knowing they will never get to make it up to her. -I loved vampire Daniel but I need to see the whole context of how he got turned! Armand "it repulses me" to make fledglings turned Daniel out of spite?? 🧐 like I guess I can belive it but I want to see how it went down. - Daniel as an investigative journalist now being able to read minds would be insanity lol - Daniel admitting to Louis " You should have seen what they made me take out." Implying that the Talamasca released a severely edited version of the book?? So the book is what Lestat is going read to spur him to go on tour omgg 💀 -The Vampire Louis fully realized with color, Paul's portrait, Claudia's dress. I just love this character so much. What a cathartic close for the season ❤️ - An addition: The way they blended motifs from the S1 soundtrack into the S2 soundtrack and made even more amazing music was perfection. Daniel Hart the composer that you are!

I totally agree after 2 watches of Ep 7, it just made me think more about Claudia's overall arc and the more tragic it became. Wanted to do an S1 watch after this season but it will definitely be the hardest to rewatch in the future. Armand's account of Claudia's last moments, like most of the story, hasn't been confirmed by another character like Claudia's turning was so I don't believe it 100 percent. I think the ratings of shows are so variable these days bc of the nature of streaming/cable but overall the deal that they made with the showrunner has me hopeful for at least a few more seasons! And it will be put on Netflix later this year I believe which will hopefully add to the fan base. I read an article that said they are filming in the fall! So hopefully back to spooky season release next year? 🤞🏼 I need Clauda to haunt them for sure! I second the Dark recommendation! It definitely lives up to it's name so please have something lighthearted to watch in between or watch IWTV in between 😂 There is some cool symbols in that one too! Episode 8 predictions - I'm going back and forth on whether Daniel will be turned. I can see it happening but I'm wondering when it would happen? Since there is supposed to be so much going on and now I know that there is supposed to be such a greater arc with Daniel and Armand, wouldn't they want it to be on more of an Armand centric ep? But ahhh, I could still see it happen given he is a mortal that now knows the secret of the vampires. But he also publishes a book about it so.. can Daniel really go back to normal life after all this? Lol - Since there is speculation the finale will set up S3, maybe Daniel receives a letter from Lestat? - Louis and Armand will separate. I'm still not quite sure how this will go down. I think Louis will be getting at least a few more memories back. - Total random theory! Louis will drink from both Armand and Lestat in Paris in order to burn down the theater. -Louis will want to kill Lestat but ultimately not do it ( he may injure him tho?) Or Armand will injure him on Louis behalf? Idk idk thinking thoughts about 1973 - what was done with Claudia's ashes( per Santiago) - We will find out what " the groan" is ( I really want to know) -Louis and Lestat will reunite in NOLA but separate. The wild thing is that Louis does love Lestat but they have such a power imbalance and so many secrets, resentments and pain between them that they can't really be equals in a relationship at this time. I think that will be the ultimate slow burn of the show like the love is there but it's soo messy. - Ghost/dream version of Claudia from either Louis or Lestat ( wishful thinking) -I think Louis will end the season alone. I think it would be really fitting to his arc to have him break free of the "suits." And take responsibility for his role in certain events but finally leave the penthouse. Even though Louis' choices and behaviors frustrate and upset me at times, he is one of my favorite characters and I think he needs that in order to move forward. - Not a theory but I want Rashid to live 😭

So many thoughts on this ep 💔 Louis name being overlayed over Claudias ashes in the final shot confirmed what they said in the episode insider that Louis humanity dies along with her 😮 I'm so happy that she heard the words " Claudia is my coven" finally getting the community she desperately wanted. I feel like her and Madeline really would have been cool vampires and true companions had they been given the chance 💔 I think they did a good job of showing subtle signs that Lestat was under some duress and I do agree that if Louis corroborates something Lestat says then it is real like how Claudias turning happened. VS the trial framing Louis as "hunting" Lestat during the courtship which Louis denies ( " Come to me!? Those are his words!) I also think Louis is at the point where he is starting to take responsibility in Dubai ( "I've downplayed my role." " You should use Lestats version") In regards to the revisits, I believe they are meant to provide additonal context for POV purposes but not necessarily change the event itself. I do think it would be interesting to revisit the murder night eventually but i think it would only reinforce that Louis slit his throat and was torn up about it ( screaming , crying, holding his body, etc) which goes in line with him feeling so guilty in S2. Sorry long comment! I always miss the live views 😭 but Im looking forward to your top 5!

I think Louis never tells Lestat that he loves him because those were the last words he said to Paul before he fell to his death. He was traumatized and felt responsible for it. We never hear him say “I love you “ to Claudia although we hear her telling Louis, she does not tell him that often enough. Madeline asked him why he does not express his feelings to Armand? Louis never wants to feel that vulnerable to someone again.

OMG, I just realized that what happened to Louis is probably why he sleeps in a bed from here on out. 💀

Because I don't know all the things that happen in the books, I can't really speculate on what the show might do differently, but I just wanted to say that I enjoy listening to hearing YOUR theories (and completely relate to how one train of thought takes you down a rabbit hole when you're trying to take every detail in and articulate just how clever and deep RJ & Co go with this show)! What I DO know, is that I'm going to be a wreck after watching this trial and its fallout! Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Yes the showrunners and writers are doing a great job of showing not telling 🙌 when Armand said you want him to come to you by doing this interview which is like yeah basically 😂 but it seemed like Louis saying" hes my maker, thats all." He wants to reassure Armand in a way? I feel like I'm missing the context of post Paris to fully grasp why all the relationships the way they are in present day lol but I know we'll get there! Louis and Armand being together for so long definitely gives them ammunition for that brutal fight, it was brilliantly acted! One of my fave moments was Daniel recalling the quote that Louis told him that he carried his whole life. You aksed some good questions that I will have to think about for sure! ❤Do you think if the book is published there will be a time jump??😮

Omg, I also have thought about the "HA!" stated by Dreamstat quite a bit 😮 My perspective is that Louis was somewhat uncomfortable with how Armand was connecting them through a history that he wasn't involved in. By stating ".. who begat Magnus, who begat Lestat who begat Louis." Armand connects them in a way that reflects all the tribulations of vampiric life including maker/flegding relationships, violence, trauma, etc as expressed in his story. Louis does not want to be in a coven or have to abide by laws or in general be associated with vampires ( even though he is one! 😂) We also know from ep 1 of this season that Louis finds vampire lineage a little ridiculous ("We looking for God Claudia?" The Adam and Eve of the Damned comment as well). So I took it has a way for him to kinda scoff about that ( as Dreamstat) if that makes sense lol he was empathetic to Armands story but wary at the same time in my mind.

It's a margaretathon on this channel!

OMG! I just had an epiphany about this episode. This is why Louis doesn't leave the tower. Louis may be imprisoned, but ultimately from Armand's POV, he's on constant "unalive" watch. BUT! He's also keeping Lestat away from Louis! Ah!!!
