You know, I've decided I might use the comments to provide small extra tidbits of info for any viewer throughout the reviews, just in case, from what I've seen around online and personal experience across the games.
Firstly on the Beretta Inox, thanks to the debunk of the theory of the target needing to be lined up, I'm pretty sure the crit chance is pure RNG. From what I read out online it's probably around between 10% or 20% chance, give or take, that triple headshot chain was a pretty lucky one.
On the Shotgun not much in gameplay, but I find it curious its in-game model (particularly the wood texture) looks different for Chris and Jill. I wonder why.
Ah, the Magnum debate. From what I gathered online, I heard that DumDums were originally stronger by fact that regular Magnum Rounds were supposed to be a lot weaker and basically act as a stronger Handgun, thus why Barry takes 3 shots to kill a zombie, but in the end Capcom just decided to buff the regular ammo a whole bunch and get rid of DumDums altogether. The whole "Magnum Rounds loaded" bit is probably another leftover from the fact it was meant to use 2 different ammo types at first.
And I have no idea what's up with those Grenade Launcher tests. I've personally always seen Acid Rounds one-shotting Hunters, I have no idea if PC version Hunters are just that much stronger or the ammo's damage properties is messed up. This will hopefully not be a concern in other versions of RE1, like REmake or DS in the future.
Anyway, to close things off, I'm excited as hell to be going through this whole journey all over again. This is gonna be AWESOME!
I played the DS version and I have beat the game a bunch of times.
Acid round is still 1-hit kill in DS.
I know everything about this version of the game, and let me know if you need info for the game. (I still have the game)
oh boy, a decade later remake 🔥
TL;DR: Light Machineguns are heavy but light compared to other machine guns.
Light Machineguns and S.A.W.s use intermediate rounds you'd find in assault rifles (think 5.56 Nato).
Medium Machineguns and GPMG use full-power cartridges you'd find in battle rifles (think 7.62 Nato).
As for heavy machineguns, think of the Bronwing M2. It uses large anti-materiel rounds like the .50 BMG. .50 BMG can be used in shoulder fired anti-materiel rifles but the recoil is too much to be shouldered for the rate of fire in a machinegun, so the Browning M2 is mounted and heavy to keep it in place as it fires.
browning m2 is over 100 years old and it is still not obsolete for its role.
@@bsaintnyc A few years ago a company made a suppressor for a Browning M2 as a proof of concept. czcams.com/video/5JCfYGatagE/video.html
Funfact and I truly think also an interesting fact about the DUMDUM-Rounds that leads to another riddle to solve IMO:
I am one of the lucky persons that still own a Resident Evil Directors Cut Version in a quite good shape for the PS1. When you play as Jill and meet Barry on the balcony in the hall, you will receive a Lockpick that will appear in your inventory. Now, since I'm German, the game is german aswell, and instead of the game telling you that Barry handed you over your Lockpick, It will tell you that you obtained "DUMDUMGESCHOSSE", which are the DUMDUM-Rounds.
I remember that pretty well because my parents were confused as hell. Took them some time to figure out that the item was not a powerful weapon or ammo, since they wished it has been such thing, but simply wasn't.
These were honestly the best times back then. I thank you for bringing some memories back.
Im pretty interested in finding out if it was a simple mistake, a bug or lazyness of the translators working on the game.
Guess we'll never find out.
Sorry if there was any bad English grammar in my little story. Thanks for reading this though.🙋🏻♂️
Not gonna lie i remember watching the older ones back in middle school over 10 years ago wow time really flys
Here we go, the start of an amazing series!
Also this seems to be one of the only RE games that feature an LMG in its weapon roster
I never knew that weapon was in the game. How could I possibly have missed that?
@@BloodmoonKingdom playstation maybe?
Honestly i think they should've had that on re5 as well, but i don't know why they didn't
aparently they are on the pc version. Thats why i never knew of them@@gabrielsantosbastos5257
@@gabrielsantosbastos5257 it was in the PC release I believe
These weapon reviews just keeps getting better and better
Just watched the original review last night thanks for remaking this
I been watching these videos sense the first resident evil 1 gun show case. Now see more people are doing gun show cases for resident evil. But nothing will replace the OG.
This was awesome. I didn't know that in the PC version you could shoot the screen just like in the original Resident Evil 2. That's so cool. I also think of Arnold Schwarzenegger using that rocket launcher in Commando whenever I use that same rocket launcher in the original Resident Evil 3. Can't wait to see the Resident Evil 2 and 3 videos. It's going to be awesome.
Same easter egg is seen in RE1 DC
Remember when I said I'd kill you last? I LIED.
DAYUM! THAT HUNTER ALMOST SCREWED UP YOUR FIRST TEST 22:33
I'm really appreciating the shooting with both characters as before AND shooting multiple enemies of a type with both of them. Gives a really good idea what to expect when engaging enemies but more importantly it's just entertaining to watch lol.
I love Chris, Jill, and Rebecca waiting position.
despite being longer I felt like the newer video was faster. Probably because of the improved editing & mic quality.
Marvelous. The era of remakes affected even you, and after so many years you decided to make a remake of the weapon review. 12 years, wow! So many years have passed between the release of Survivir and RE6!
Shank you should show off your quick shot technique in RE2.
Yep
I have been waiting for this for a long time. I am excited Shankster94. Thank you for this, from one Resisent Evil fan to another.
Can't wait for Resident Evil 2 (1998)
This intro. I can't get enough of it.
That intro is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 this is gonna be a great new review series thanks
excellent video, looking forward to the sequel/s👍😎
This is the best intro I ever seen
the video is great and all
but that intro is DELICIOUS
That new intro was amazing!
There is no more satisfying noise than that critical shot noise with the baretta. I wish there was a way to trigger it more consistently
sick intro, love it
Lock n load, bois
Talk about a blast from the past
We going back in time now! This is going to be one helluva ride through the franchise once again but this time, no passing by anything.
Loving the content and the new upgraded weapons review. Missing the let's plays. Are we likely to see the next one any time soon? All in all though perfect videos
The full plays are on complete hiatus until this remaking era ends, which with 29 games still to go won’t be for an undeterminably long while
Been a while since I saw the original version of the review
The 4k remake era glory is here!
My God the textures 😮
Was not expecting this so quickly. 😂
Awesome
That intro is godly
21:10 I GOTTA SHOTGUN! POW! AAH!!
Look at that my man ☺
Never noticed that the magnum had an weird blue muzzle flash
Playing the PS version I've used up to "3" regular grenade rounds on a Hunter in arranged mode.
I kinda wish the modern resi games had the m202 rocket launcher, even if an easter egg or something
Happy New(2024) Year(to you)!
23:27 I do find sense in that fact, if we take into account that Chris was the STARS member with the best aim and used all types of weapons.(which is why we have the highest percentage of probability of making a critical headshot with him)
And I don't know if you knew that with Chris in Resident Evil 2, in battle mode, the completed shotgun will have less recoil and more cadence between each shot than with Leon
Yep, I’ll make sure to show that in the next showcase
@@THEGAMERSHANKSTERI hope there is no “Mugnum” glitch like the original review 😅. To be honest, the glitch was funny 😂
@@wooseokkim935 There likely won’t be cuz it’s the PC version and the SHDP team wouldn’t miss that
Great video!
I have a Beretta 92FS Inox and I only have it because of this very game!
But im Cali so it can only be a 10 mag capacity 😢
very good video
Yay i love you make this video idk it make me interesting into the video
The rocket launcher is the m202 . Supposedly vietnam era but never ever heard from in any memoir ever.
Interestingly, in the DS port the classic Beretta was visually replaced by the Samurai Edge (different model depending on what mode you chose, in Rebirth mode it's the standard model and in Classic mode it's Jill model), like the Beretta Inox in the PS1 DC it is only aesthetic. The Magnum was also replaced by Barry's "Silver Serpent" from RE1 Remake.
Yeah that was awesome i can't wait for re2.
Great Video. It's a shame the Ingram and Minimi were not in the PS1 versions. RE1 has a severe lack of different guns.
That explains why this is the first time I've ever seen them in this game lol
The in-game reload animation is actually that of a tactical reload, even though in real life a tactical reload is possible only if u have one in the chamber.
When playing Resi 1 Original stand near some stairs when knifing zombies whenever you can.
When standing near stairs, whatever stairs, for some reason the zombies will never grab n bite you - instead they'll vomit bile, which is less harmful. That allows you to lose less health and chop 'em up with less effort. Aim for the legs.
some of these exclusive guns would be paid DLC with modern capcom
If you use Action Replay on the PS1 version, you can get the grenade launcher for Chris. He can equip and fire it without any problems
I did not know that.
I like how Resident Evil is a game featuring guns but then all the damn recent RE games and Remakes make shooting feels like ass by making enemies tank 10-15 headshots.
27:30 Dormammu!
Regarding the DumDum rounds, according to Lotus Prince, it would deal more damage to certain enemies and bosses. That’s just the information I got about them.
Feels like the PC version has more knockback with the knife, on PS1 version they seem to just walk right through the attacks barely getting stunned, though it has been awhile since I used the knife a bit in RE1... Code Veronica on the other hand... XD Also, as a gun nut, the term "automatic" when referring to handguns is actually correct, referring to the fact they automatically load the next round. Somewhat antiquated terminology nowadays, it's a term from when self loading aka "automatic" handguns first arrived. It's why .45 ACP, or "Automatic Colt Pistol" if you ever wondered, is often referred to as "45 auto" to differentiate between .45 colt/ long colt used in revolvers, as it was one of the first bullets designed to be fired out of a self loading pistol.
Chris is so much stronger than Jill that even firearms in his hands become more powerful.
In lore Chris is supposed to be a better shot than Jill, but I don't know if that affects the gameplay or critical shots to be honest.
I dont remember the game looking this clean and smooth, fuckin hell it looks beautiful lol
That’s the Seamless HD Project mod for ya
I never knew about the pc only machine guns 😮
The machine gun could break the screen in re 2 as well. I remember doing it in the parking lot
Are there any "hidden" weapons in RE2 you can find? I remember using the Action Replay code where if you use the Colt SAA as Leon, it becomes a Calico M1100
Not so sure about whole weapons off the top of my head, but there is hidden ammo that allows for reloading weapons you normally can’t.
@THEGAMERSHANKSTER Sorry, I meant the M-950, like I said it can be accessed through a cheat engine. Like how you accessed the Dumdum rounds. Also, there's a file for an HK51 that can be accessed with mods if I'm correct.
@@smithwesson1896 Turns out you’re correct, equipping the Colt S.A.A. with Leon gives him the Calico M950. I’ll be sure to include it
@@THEGAMERSHANKSTER Awesome! I'm glad I could lend a hand. 😁
Wat. Is that for real?
6:13
MoistCr1tikal: They're not clips, they're mags.
Couldn't pass up.
Advanced hunters could take up to 3 .357 shots. BTW beretta could be used to conserve shotgun and python. I sometimes killed hunters with it/
Have seen the kendo gun shop channel?
Yep, I’m subscribed
Okay, to add, Jill & Chris has different styles to hold the knife. Chris prefers to hold it rambo style while Jill is dagger style. And if you hold up for Chris he will stab while Jill is same.
I think the FN Minimi is what Chris is supposed to be holding on the front cover of the game.
The cover art is a frankengun made up of an AR-15 and a shotgun meshed together
The grenade launcher is an arwen 37.
The only disappointment I had on RE1Remake is the exclusion of ingram and minimi unlockables.
You can shoot the screen too on the directors cut version as well on the PS1. I have the game.
I have read somwhere that the dum dum rounds were supposed to be for taking out zombies, saving the regular 357 rounds for harder enemies and bosses. If I find the link I'll post it here
Would make sense because as I say in the video I tested DumDum rounds on zombies off-camera and critical rate was still 100%
You get more criticals with Chris because he has better aim. This is more or less confirmed by his Marksmanship Contest trophies in the S.T.A.R.S office
Good video. The FN Minimi uses 5.56 ammo in real life so wouldn’t use the same ammo as the 9mm beretta FYI
Yeah I knew it wasn’t IRL, you could hear my skepticism. I was really talking about in game
44:05 it's a shame that in the RESIDENT EVIL 1 remake (2002)/remaster(2015) we don't get to use the M202 rocket launcher given us from Brad to finish off the tyrant in NEW GAME PLUS and it instead gets replaced by a fictional one
*He is sleeping with the ULTIMATE FAILURE!*
Interestingly, where the US version called it a CLIP, the Japanese version labeled the same item "ベレタのマガジン" (Beretta magazine)
22:32 You got lucky there. That Hunter was going for the one-tap on Jill. Never be on Caution Health when facing Hunters.
27:21 Looks like I was too late….You did fire your gun though.
Actually in RE1, Hunters go for their insta-kill attack when THEY are low on health. You can be at 100% and still get beheaded.
Look at how Jill aims the MAC-10 from the hip like Steven Bauer in Scarface (1983).
Chris is more proficient with hand guns. He blows of heads with the Beretta alot. In the remake it's timing for Chris. Press the trigger and bye heads.
Please do re2 1998 4K weapons review!
Please be patient, it’s in production!
Chris is tougher. Jill has more resources. Survival horror.
You should do mercenaries 3d content again
Getting way ahead of ourselves there, but will happen someday
Really like your weapon reviews. I discovered them recently and I'm slowly eating through your playlist.
But I'm curious. You made even among the worst RE games but there is one missing, Umbrella Corps. Did you miss it on purpose ???
Sure did, along with Resistance
@@THEGAMERSHANKSTER ah ok, although I can understand Resistance (as it has the same weapons as RE2R and RE3R) Umbrella Corps had an interesting bunch of weapons.
@@Fox357mag I refused to give that game any of my time back when it came out and it has been the absolute bottom of the barrel of the franchise for me. I will only give it time in the future purely for content
@@THEGAMERSHANKSTER ok fair enough
If you cause damage to a zombie, but leave them alive and leave the room…will that zombie still have the damage percentage from the attack or does their health reset?
Great question, and I actually have the answer because this happened to me between clips. Their health resets upon re-entry
@@THEGAMERSHANKSTER So take them out or go completely past them, if possible. Or you’ll waste ammo. Good to know FFR, thank you 😎
Ty for vidio plz resedent evil 1 so hd play on pc or console?!
PC
lol the knife blade is upside down did they figure in real life you need to use the sharp edge not the top of the blade lol
do a video like this with resident evil 2 and 3 [old versions]
Way ahead of you there pal
@@THEGAMERSHANKSTER what do you mean I mean 1998 resident evil 2 and 3 and you havent done videos on them
@@syruspaton6624 I mean they’re in development and you’re gonna have to be patient and wait for them like everyone else. And if you want to be technical, yes I have done videos on them already, over 12 years ago
RE2: czcams.com/video/5e1DTvI98kQ/video.html
RE3N: czcams.com/video/FTmqkdnvuSI/video.html
@@THEGAMERSHANKSTER oh ok thanks
改造データ混ざってない?
I love how you can tell that japanese people have no idea how guns work by playing games like these. Like the fact that they think a .357 magnum is more powerful than a 12ga is kind of cute. They literally think magnum is some magic bullet or something when all it means is it has slightly more gunpowder compared to it's parent round. To be fair, it's obviously because they're not legally allowed to own guns in the first place over there.
Also, kinda odd that dumdum rounds do less damage when hollow points do significantly more damage to unprotected flesh than ball ammo does.
how to get magnum revolver in biohazard 1996,not HD version, where to find it?
It's not something you need to say for the "gun nuts" lol...there is an important distinction between guns considered automatic and semi-automatic. I say that because I own about 6 firearm.
This woman I used to work with literally said to me "How do you own an AR-15 (M&P 15)?? Isn't it automatic?". I was so confused that she would even think that. For a bit I was like "oh it's just ignorance" but no, no one has any excuse for saying bad things about firearms and our right to bear them, yet thinking something so dumb. You have to have a LOT of money, pay a tax stamp to OWN an automatic, have to wait a year or more for your background check to clear and you absolutely are on a list after all that when you finally get your approval and registration for it.
You sounded like you knew your weapons until you didn’t SAW light machine gun could use the same ammo as the Beretta and Mac 10 lol…there is no such thing as as a light machine gun that fires pistol calibers. Otherwise it would be a Sub machine gun and take magazines haha. Off the top of my head the SAW takes 7.62x39 NATO rounds (at least before 2 years ago).
lol why would dum dum rounds be weaker than regular FMJ’s? That’s like saying hollow points are less powerful than FMJ’s haha.
To be fair, I never explicitly said the FN Minimi uses 9mm ammunition. I was talking about in game, which through the tests conducted on enemies actually checks out. I don’t claim to be a weapons expert, in fact I often state my lack of expertise or care for that matter. I have fragmented knowledge of firearms through internet research and knowledgeable gun enthusiasts who watch my videos, but none of it is integral to my life personally and never will be. My focus in these videos is showcasing weapons as video game items that may be inspired by real-life weaponry, but will seldom be accurate in totality and should never be expected to be.
7.62 x 39 is soviet
7.62 x 51 is NATO.
Emotional gun damage
Furthermore 7.62 is lmg ammo not saw. The progression is smg , saw/mmg, lmg, then hmg.
EMOTIONAL GUN DAMAGE
White finish? The Beretta Inox pistols have a matte stainless finish. If you want to talk about guns, might want to have a clue about what you're talking about. No, the Minimi does not fire 9mm like the Beretta. It fires 5.56x45, same as the M16. Good grief.
Nah, I’d rather continue to enjoy riling up gun nuts like yourself who fail to understand video game logic. It isn’t that deep
He did throw in the disclaimer that he isn't a real life gun expert, so small mistakes are liable to happen, but it doesn't really take away from the main point of the video. It's still all about the game after all.
To quote: "Supposedly would use the same ammo as the Baretta. This IS a *Light Machine Gun,* so I don't know about that."
This sentence implies that if the Minimi were a reloadable weapon, it would, like the Ingram, share its ammo pool with the Baretta, but he's quite aware that this should, realistically, not be the case.
