- While Resident Evil is well known for the weapons that appear throughout the series, a lot of weapons never make it to the final product. In this video we detail 10 of those weapons that were cut from the games they were originally set to appear in.

In the super early production images of RE5 released in Game Informer, Chris has a different knife on his back and a handgun that appears to be a very longslide version of Leon's RE4 handgun.

Well yeah the RPD didn’t have P90’s, the SG team’s needed them.
P90s are stupidly expensive (because FN Herstal,) and use a proprietary and hard to find ammo in 5.7x28mm. I doubt the police force of a city in middle America would have the budget for P90s when MP5s are more common, are actually cheaper, and use the more available 9x19 Parabellum.
Meant it as a joke, there was a show called Stargate SG-1 and the teams on it used the P90.
Yea but in the original RE2 you find a mac-10 with that big ass scarface barrel shroud and tbh it woulda made alot more sense to find a P90 or an MP5
Upon closer inspection, I think Chris' 1911 more closely resemebles the Hi Power more. I'm not sayin that you're wrong either though.

We thought so too, the Hi Power could definitely be a tertiary inspiration for his custom handgun. The reason we settled with 1911 though is because of the bushing at the front of the gun as well as the ejection port favoring more of the top of the slide rather than more of the side like the Hi Power, plus some other small details but I don't disagree with you either. Good eye!
I saw it an instantly thought M45A1 but that's just semantics cause the m45 is a 1911 just with a new look and alloys

That hookman version of RE4 has always looked really interesting. Maybe not very polished and kinda clunky compared to the final game, but it'd be pretty cool to get a chance to play it one day and see what their original ideas looked like before they morphed into the final version, like with the Biohazard 1.5 leaked version from years ago.

Blake Marini in the US version of the game when you get to a certain point in the Outbreak scenario playing as Alyssa, the game just locks up.

It's a roller delayed blowback 9mm just like the MP5.

The 9 millimeters are roller delayed the 22 versions he was basically a 10/22 bolt upside down they're pretty reliable as long as you is good ammo and the magazines in good shape the spring in my 22 broke and the magazines are like $170 a piece another cool thing about the 22 version is the handguard is spring loaded so you can pull it forward and it frees up the barrel nut twist off and take the barrel off but that also means you can hold on to the handguard with the buttstock collapsed and put your finger in the trigger guard pull the trigger and it will bump fire like crazy

I actually have a Ruger P94, it's a surprisingly nice gun. There was a special order version of the P94 that was double action only and had a built in laser.
1:56 speaking of 1911, i'm actually bummed out that the STI 2011 on RE3 never make it on the remake which quite a shame since that gun has a unique apperance for a handgun.

not sure if anyone else mentioned this, but in regards to the sub-machine gun in RE0, the ammunition counter turning red could be like RE3's assault rifle where changing the gun from burst to full auto changes the ammunition counter's color.

Resident Evil and Metal Gear Solid are the series that really made me interested in learning about guns/weapons as well as owning them someday.
They really put such a unique spin compared to their real world counterparts.
Imagine owning any of these during an outbreak like in RE or The Walking Dead.

even though the silver ghost is a unique model made by the developer, I actually think the KP94 might be the closest any gun comes to looking like it. in the side by side shots of gameplay it's hard to see which is which, only when it's examined can you spot significant differences
Finally someone talks about the re3.5 handgun. I always figured it was a H&K USP and Sig P228 hybrid.
3.5 is easily one of my favorite scrapped versions of a game, possibly ever. If I get the chance to talk about it again, I will!

Kendo mentioned the 500 model Revolver for the Outbreak that did not make it in the final cut of the game, but then as he mentions Oscar the Elephant in the Zoo, I remember the Merchant in Resident Evil 4 says this dialogue when you buy a Hand Cannon which is a remodel for the 500 model: "Stranger. What'cha need that for? Going huntin' an elephant?"
you forgot to mention that the P90 weirdly can also be obtainable in revelations for the MC on hard difficulty where it really isn't that useful but you can then bring it over to the lower ones. You gotta drain the pool and go to the other side where you would usually get a nice bonus stash of ammo
THe first time I ever saw the Calico M950 was from a movie known as Dark Angel/ I Come in Peace from the late 1980's.. It was used mostly by the alien drug dealer/trafficker and the alien police officer.
I don't consider the 2019 RE2 and 2020 RE3 games remakes..... More like "Re-Works". A proper remake would be RE1 on the Gamecube.
They are more like reimagined versions of the old games

I *am* a bit disappointed you didn't cut in the Merchant's line about the magnum in Re4 when discussing the M500 in Outbreak. "Whatcha need that for, Strangah? Gonna hunt yousself an elephant?"
Yeah, bringing up Oscar was the only way I could circumvent using the Merchant's quote while still referencing the line, You know we're saving that line for something else!

I think this may be my favorite episode from you guys by far, though. There are enough guns (and ammo) you could probably do a Part 2 at some point (Re2 had a G3 in it that apparently the Mac-11 is a reskin of, which is why it's so big, for instance).

I'm guessing the handgun suppressor in RE0 would have worked similarly to the one in Silent Hill 3. That is, when equipped monsters wouldn't be alerted to your presence when firing. A bit of a niche use, which I imagine is why it was cut.
As for the SMG in the same game, IIRC the Assault Rifle in RE3 had its ammo percentage change color depending on firing mode. I would guess the idea here was that like the AR from 3 the SMG had two modes you could toggle between in the inventory; a full auto mode, and a "manual" mode where it either fired bursts or just single shots.
I do want to see the 1911 as a weapon in Village or as a dlc weapon. Thanks Kendo, now when will you do a video on the silver ghost?
The M19 in RE7 and REmake 2 are about as close as you're gonna get to an actual 1911. Capcom has pretty much established that the basic handgun is a 9mm and have never deviated from that standard. Plus, I don't think Capcom wants to make 2 handguns with ammo types that can't interchange. It's also possible that they don't know the difference between 9mm and .45 ACP since Japanese civilians are not allowed to own guns.

What made re4-5 so good was the variety we had with the guns and being able to choose from many different guns. Hopefully re8 and re4 remake has that also.
Also upgrading them was incredibly satisfying.
Am I the only one who prefers Leon's Silver ghost, rather than the Matilda, idk the Silver Ghost is just so much more aesthetic.
I will say I find it strange he only returned to it once after 4 (Degeneration). But then again the VP70 probably has some sentimental value to him

In RE5 there are 3 pistols that are exclusive to The Mercenaries and aren't available in the campaign: Wesker's Samurai Edge, Jill's Px4, and Barry's pistol.
Anyone know if it is considered removed content or they intentionally made it exclusive to Mercenaries?
Those guns were intentionally made exclusive to the Mercenaries mode. Which we think is pretty cool but at the same time would love if they were unlock able in the main game as well.

I remember unlocking the Calico M950 with Gameshark back in the day. Depending on the code, you could pair it with any ammo in the game, and it fired faster too.
I used to go with custom shotgun. So satisfying.

I have my own custom Samurai Edge based on Jill's 92GSD from Revelations, but it has a color scheme that is based off Wesker's SE.

I’m wondering if the red/green ammo percentage on the Resident Evil 0 SMG was an indicator of its firing mode like the mechanic for the AR in the original Resident Evil 3: Nemesis.

I'm still looking forward to seeing a video about Leon's signature handgun. The Silver Ghost. Also, apparently Leon was supposed to have a completely different custom handgun for RE4. Apparently, it was supposed to be modeled after Sig Sauer P220 Sport, but with a few alterations. As a matter in fact, the handgun he was initially going to be armed with..can be seen in use, in the film Resident Evil: Vendetta.

As fhe owner of a Kp94 as my first pistol recently: Feels odd now especially knowing despite how somewhat ubscure it is, it was Leon's orginal pistol before the last minute swap, with how realistically modeled moat the other firearms are, especially in the newer games.
How about "classic" weapons in resident evil. Bolt action rifles, Steve's lugers. The M1927 Thompson in re4. And others if your able to find em. Like early to mid 20th century weapons. I would love to see the history and the differences in both in game and real life variants.

Capcom has a reputation of creating custom weapons, and the Silver Ghost was 1 of the most signature guns in the series. However in 2006 Jun Takeuchi explained in an interview that fans wanted the new games' firearms to be more realistic, that's why most famous guns prior Resident Evil 5 were dropped out.
P226 came back in Resident Evil 5, Colt 1911 and back in Resident Evil 7. I think another gun still missing on this list is the "Dead Rising" Assault Rifle featured in Resident Evil 5 trailer, 1 of the most controversal ever existed in the series.
Once again was NOT disappointed it was definitely worth subscribing

I was sitting in my car when the video began to play and when I heard the chainsaw I unconsciously started to look for chainsaw zombies
I literally said "oh yeah" when the first pistol in the list (No. 10) was the P226. My MK25 (navy issued P226) is my favorite pistol I own in 9mm with some slight upgrades making it my default home defense or zombie outbreak default pistol.
Hopefully if you run into any haunted dolls or Phantom Men wielding hooks it'll get the job done!
@@KendoGunShop my kids would probably like the dolls. I could always put the phantom men to work. I bet they are good at mowing one's yard in addition to keeping people out of my yard. But if all else fails, then you are right, the p226 will get the job done of removing the dolls and phantoms.

i think you missed the m4 concept rifle or a janky designed sig rifle was in the resident evil 5 early set trailer when Chris is surrounded in doors and chris first trailer he had a Heckler & Koch USP extended barrel in the 2005 trailers
We skipped over a few other guns to save for later, they've all been noted and even a few others. Maybe a part 2 is in our future.

Im glad someone finally mentioned the Calico 950. Ive been talking about this weapon being in RE2 for a long time and everyone seems to either ignore it or look the other way. The only way I know how to access is through the first version of RE2.

Ah so it was a p226, I’ve recently been working on a mod for fallout to add Leons clothing and pistols from both 4 and 3.5 aka the fog/Hookman/Castle version (which btw are all the same game just with different clips). It honestly was a great game that due to technological and general restrictions at the time couldn’t have been made. Hope to see another Resident Evil like this eventually, although village plans to do something similar as 3.5 did.
Please make video on Assault Shotgun/ Riot Gun and Silver Ghost as well.
