I love earning a trophy or achievement that actually feels like I earned it like finishing that race. There’s always someone saying “it’s not that hard just get gud” but there’s a reason sooooo many people struggle with it. A lot has to do with luck of the AI and they trick you into thinking you’ve gotta get into first place immediately. The tension builds until you realize you really only have to get in fourth place technically. There are four scripted crashes/breakdowns. It’s still challenging knowing all that but it does take some pressure off especially in lap 3 when you’re always in 2nd and it seems like you’ll never catch first so you push the speed too much and crash never realizing that all you have to do is stay in 2nd cuz the guy in 1st crashes on the final turn.

When you’re doing the race, get to 4th place in the first lap and stay there. The three drivers ahead of you will crash in scripted events so you’ll finish in first.
Turn on the speed limiter before you make turns and when you’re turning, mash the X button so Tommy’s car rams on the turn and you won’t go spinning out of control.
Did the race twice on Classic doing this.
Staying in the 4th place isn't necessary, quite the opposite. Just maintain the lead you already have, it's easy to get to the 2nd or even 1st place if you cut through the grass, sand, etc.

@@steelbear2063 Yeah but it’s easier to get to 4th place and just hold that position instead of risking losing the race by getting greedy and getting to first.
Taking advantage of the scripted events is the main thing.
If you just realize you are driving a car and not a mario kart need for speed podracer with infinite grip the race is one of the easiest missions in the whole game, even on classic.

No I mean it's literally easier to just push forward instead of trying to maintain close distance to other cars. Those two scripted guys would fall off anyway, leaving you with the 4th guy way way in the back, that's not what I call a risk

About "Fair play" on Classic difficulty: well, there is an another way of doing the race. You can drive back to a narrow spot of the track and make a huge car wreck on the road. This way the enemies will be immobilized and you will just drive all alone to the first place. It's a bit tricky, but it was much easier for me than the actual race. "You set stupid rules, I break the stupid rules". It's "fair play" in my eyes ;)

Yeah tried it, this method is shit and is way harder and more unpredictable than simply racing. Cut corners, use ram, use speed limit. You'll be fine, people, don't use this stipud tactic
@@steelbear2063 I tried it. I spent a lot of hours of it. Then I tried this "cheese" strat and after a dozen of tries, I succeeded. The worst thing is that race is so disconnected from the rest of the game: you don't need these skills anywhere else. All the chases are much easier. It worked for me and some others. So, what works is works, right?

Sadly I believe mafia 2 would be impossible for one reason only. The game breaking glitch that literally makes it almost impossible to beat the game. In one of the missions you have to quickly get to your mentors house before he gets killed. However the glitch for some reason makes the house Unavailable to go inside making it unbeatable unless you do one thing which rarely works

@@theadawee2715 I believe the glitch is only for PlayStation Mafia 2 definitive edition. I have been trying to get pass that level so many times but nothing I did ever fixed it. Idk why it’s like someone literally forgot some code or something. Then again it happened to me and I use ps4 so maybe on ps5 it works fine

I've just earned the platinum trophy, and the only chapter I took shortcuts in was the race. I handled it exactly as a mafioso would, and I found it far more enjoyable than completing the race on classic difficulty in the standard way.

HOLY FUCK! As a proud czech, it's an honor you have czeched out this game (Gedit?). Mafia 1 was the first game I ever played, I finished it multiple times, I still remember some cheatcodes. The remaster was fucking good (They brought in the original voice actors, except for Salieri, who unfortunately died), one of very few games on steam I have that I have 100%ted. Also the main man behind Mafia 1 is Dan Vávra, who later founded Warhorse Studios and developed Kingdom Come:Deliverance, also a banger of a game.

Original mafia actually had full sim car handling that was even worse than in the remaster. But even the new one is a great way to feel how those cars handled back in the day.

Yeah that car race was the hardest when I done it on classic but then realised if you can get into 4th from that first corner you can win it long as when you get 1st on the next corner you just stay in front so the racers can't past just keep looking behind you and getting In there way then it's easy to do

The remaster of the original Mafia is insanely good! Platinum is a lot of fun as well. Was very disappointed with the remaster of Mafia 2 compared to this one, and let’s not even mention Mafia 3…
Well Mafia 2 remastered just dropped the ball entirely. But Mafia 3 was already a bad game to start lol. Hard to just take the template of a bad game and have a remaster be anything other than redistributed shit

Exactly someone actually made a video where they played the original mafia on the hardest difficulty and was actually confused as to why people were struggling as much as they said they were.
Fun fact the driving for the original mafia was actually tested using steering wheel and pedals so it makes sense why it feels weird with a controller.
And before someone replies saying *oh well not everyone is a racing sim expert* there is people that mainly play stuff like need for speed and gta that are 100x better at driving sim stuff than 70% to possibly even 90% of some players nowadays and it’s genuinely irritating that over the past few years it’s only gotten worse with people acting like because the game doesn’t play itself it’s too hard for them to play.
Like seriously people either need to learn to stop pressing accelerate 24/7 and refusing to brake or they need to simply stop playing games that they are not good at.
For example I like mortal kombat but I’m not good at it so I pretty much don’t play it it’s that simple.
@@oOSonicexeOo Yeah, I think it's not just people who play a lot of racing games are going to be more skilled at sim racing. But, people who drive a car irl should be able to learn to play sim racing easily and this include an arcade one as well, as they already have the knowledge of how to properly drive a real car. I always assume that people who are struggling with racing game either never drive a car before or they just refuse to properly learn to play it.

I remember doing the Mafia achievements. I got most the first playthrough, I spent 2-3 hours on the driving on classic till I eventually gave up because I realised I messed up and let myself get the loss multiple times accidentally and switched to a different difficulty. Then I proceeded to collect all collectibles, do all missions and do everything else. After I had all but the Classic achievement, I decided enough is enough and did it again. I got up to the driving race where I actually managed to beat it 1st try.. For the next 4-5 hours I just spent my time grinding the rest of the story until I finally had all of the achievements.
I do personally agree that the collectibles were a bit of a nightmare going everywhere back and forth, and with the gun and driving systems.. They were mad.

I am from czech republic, country from which is this game and the original Mafia, and i love both od them, but still the original has spirit, that this Definitive edition just hasn’t, but it is still awsome game, which i love. But the original is just LEGENDARY game, maybe my favourite, and when you are from Czech republic and understant the czech language, so you can set the czech dubbing and you enjoy it sooooo much!!

I remember the frustration that race gave me. It took me 3 hours to beat that race and I was so stubborn that I did it all in one sitting. Needless to say I went to bed at 3 AM that night.
In the prison escape mission, just by the prison exit you can go to the right and escape through sewers. This way you avoid the annoying chase and you can get the 'escape from 5 star chase' trophy later, in free play on a lower difficulty :)) Helped me a lot to get the platinum
I remember playing MAFIA 2 in my old xbox 360, while my father was alive, it was so good... after he died, i never played this game again, just after years i finally turn on my old xbox 360 and start playing this game, but this time, for finish, for my old man... and i need to say, every time that i see something about this game i feel happy and sad, happy for remember my dad has the good man he was, and sad for know he's not here anymore for we play togheter one last time....

I think the next platinum you are gonna do is COD MW 3(2011) because you had given hints at the ending of the video. If you are gonna do mw3 (2011) platinum make sure you do all the spec ops in 3 star in veteran difficult including the DLC and getting the max rank of spec ops.
